I didn't realize how much of the witty dialog was missing till the last 2 episodes.glad they brought it back.
Shit fucks with the hierarchy of the show, was supposed to be Chuck and a few others that spoke like that and thats what separated the big brains from the geniuses but now this shit is ridiculous and everyone speaks like that so it diminishes the value.

One of my favorite shows but lost the entire direction when Axe left. Even the season B4 when they brought Prince on, his whole character with his butt buddy was weak.
Even Wags character changed to become some pussy. How the fuck they completely change all characters to be this stupid ass direction is just lost.

Brian Cox is channeling Logan Roy and it appears no one is safe from his cutthroat remarks — not even his pay cable contemporaries.
While discussing the future of Succession with The Times, the powerhouse actor said he has no idea how long the show could go on — "No one's had their contracts renewed," he noted — but that he hopes it won't "overstay its welcome."
Cox didn't need to provide an example of a show that he believes has overstayed its welcome, but he did so anyway, naming the Showtime series Billions. "[T]hat's past its sell-by date. That will not happen with our show."

While it might be time to say bye-bye Billions in Cox's mind, the Showtime show about the complex lives of New York City's upper crust has largely held its own over its last six seasons and features a powerful cast including Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll, and Maggie Siff.
After losing fan-favorite Damian Lewis at the end of season 5, EW's critic Kyle Fowle noted that the show initially "struggled to hit its previous highs" before finding its rhythm in the season finale: "a tight, compelling, tense episode that does everything in its power to assure you that, going forward, Billions will continue to deliver the goods." It was subsequently renewed for a seventh season back in February.
If the Billions cast and crew can find comfort in one thing, it's that they weren't the only ones caught in Cox's crosshairs. The Putting The Rabbit In The Hat author clarified multiple comments he made about fellow stars in his book, including Johnny Depp, Steven Seagal, and Ian McKellen.
Cox shared that McKellen was "a sweetheart, nicer as he's gotten older" but that "he's just not my favorite actor." He added, "I'm going up to Edinburgh and he's got his Hamlet on. I've heard it's awful."
The actor also previously said that Depp was overblown, but conceded now that "the public love him." He also shared that he felt sorry for Amber Heard, who he thought "got the rough end of it." As for Seagal, Cox said he "wouldn't waste [his] energy" apologizing for the comments he made about the Under Siege actor in his novel because, as he put it, "[Seagal] was perfectly nice to me. It's just his value system — he's about as Buddhist as my arse."
But Cox wasn't dishing just out negative takes, either. He also revealed that he "loves the weed," which he sometimes smokes before bedtime, and shared a list of celebrities that he does like. After seven caustic, twist-ridden seasons, Showtime's 'Billions' is coming to an end. The final season, which features the return of Damian Lewis' Bobby Axelrod, premieres in August.

Straight up trash. Prince is all of a sudden being compared to Hitler? Man wtf, and Axelrod is the white knight coming in to save the day. Taylor is useless and stupid, Chuck is still doing the same bullshit he's been doing for the last few seasons.
The series finale felt complete which many shows fail to do. I agree with you on being happily surprised. It was an ending I definitely could live with as opposed to shows like The Wire(which was still good) and Snowfall, among many others. Lol!
I definitely felt that way leading up to the finale about the black people with Prince. I hated that they were with him during the season, but the ending eased that feeling. Lol!
Overall it was a great show with a satisfying ending. Gonna miss watching it every Friday -Sunday.
For a show that arguably could have ended 2 seasons ago, they managed to stick the landing with this finale. I'm not mad at it. Too many shows these days fuck up their finales by leaving long running questions unanswered or simply refusing to tie off any storylines (I'm looking at you Shameless & Blacklist) in the hopes of coming back someday as a reboot or spinoff. This finale felt finite, they got all the juice out of this world that they could, no need to talk about spinoffs or a reboot 3 years from now, what we got was good and we can leave it at that.
