Its tough and yes maybe I would have a difference of opinions if my daughter was involved; I just cant get behind cops; and maybe if he fired 1 shot I would feel differently; but dam 4 fucking shots

That is why officers are taught to shoot at the largest part of the body, 'center mass'. On the one hand you got folk saying he should have shot her in the arm or leg and on the other hand they are saying he was reckless shooting her center mass. One reason they don't shoot at arms and legs is the likelihood of missing and hitting an innocent. Didn't happen.

Clearly her parents failed and the entire situation is tragic; im still not getting behind cops; whether they are justified or not; too many instances where they are not justified; too many instances where they bring more damage than good; too many fucking instances!!!
My bad for making fun of this situation. She was the victim a d she was the one who called the cops but from their point if view the cops prolly didn't know who was who and assumed the girl in the pink about to gst stabbed was the victim and not the aggressor. I don't think they cohldve ran up and grabned the knife on in time. Its a sad situation. And a tragedy for it to end this way
Okay, after watching the video a few times, I have to agree that he didn't have any better options than to shoot her.
1. He did not have his gun out as soon as he got out of the car. His right hand was out of sight in the beginning and was probably on his gun, but we don't see him draw it until she is running with the knife.
2. When she came close to him, he backed up so he wouldn't get stabbed. She then started charging for the girl in pink.
3. Starting from when he realized that she had a knife, a baton wouldn't have stopped her in time. Tasers can be unreliable. I've seen folks that the police try to taze, casually pull the prongs out and keep on going. Pepper spray is only useful when the person is facing you. And shooting someone in the limbs is only in the movies. Shooting multiple shots is not excessive. Someone can get shot and keep moving.
4. What makes this difficult to accept is the apathy of the police after the fact. With one saying blue lives matter, and others reportedly laughing while that child was bleeding out is sickening.
How would I feel if that was my daughter? I'd have taught her that when you call the police, they might kill you. Don't let them see anything in your hands.
Ultimately she was failed by a number of people.

I remember being told, nearly 30 years ago, that if you see cops or hear sirens, you pretend it's the pause sound from Super Mario Bros and you stop what you're doing and stand still.
Because if you're arguing, fighting, or bracing like you're about to fight, the police are not about to play referee and break up the fight or argument they are likely to shoot into it, especially if the cops are white.
I've literally seen niggas who look like WWE superstars, throwing stiff ass punches, come to a complete stop and dap each other off and pretend to be friends when the police came just to not risk getting arrested or worse.

They use non lethal weapons various times when people were carrying knives.. there’s vids where they actually taze, mace people who had knives
