It's my belief- I don't KNOW, But I believe , certain skills have to be learned and practiced at a much earlier age and on a much smaller stage. The man didn't have an amateur career. the habits he's formed have to be broken and reformed and that ain't something you can do in betweenfighrs and on the big stage.I still can't get over that shit. It's like some person who wants to be in the big leagues in baseball. They spent years trying to hit the ball. Years in the minor. At a certain point, they have to realize they just can't hit a ball good enough. If they lived to be 1000, they still wouldn't make it to the pros.
Wilder ain't learn to box by now there's a fucking reason. Ain't enough tightening up in the world to match Fury's boxing.
And let's be clear. Wilder is still a beast. Fury is 6 fucking 9, heavy as shit, yet nimble as fuck. He's a nightmare. If I'm being honest, I've never seen any shit like that before. He moves like he is 180 pounds plus has a reach. It's bad enough reach = speed.
Boxing is an old sport. Everything that can be tried has been tried already. Including just having one big punch and staying on top.

Actually it only took til the hand healed. Listen it's the willingness to dedicate yourself to the task. Repetition. It becomes 2nd nature. You see it in boxing training camps all the time. Sometimes in the heat of battle you revert, but to think he can't learn and do the drills until it's a new skill is wrong. Remember what Lennox was and what he became? It's in the training. And a no nonsense take no prisoners trainer is what Wilder needs.
Wilder isn't a good enough of a boxer to go against someone with the skills of Fury.

I actually thought the first fight would be like this one as DW surprised me in the 1st fight as i was rooting him as a proud black man who doesnt have that coonish Money Mayweather mentality at times when commenting on black suppression...
But any technical boxing fans knew he was overmatched in boxing skills and Tyson Fury having a young inexperienced trainer... really was more of a motivating friend to him and being out of boxing with all the issues he had just simply even the playing field a little bit for Wilder to catch him with the big right.
But when I saw Tyson Fury dismantle, Klitschko... i knew he was a very good hw. He beat him both athletically, with boxing skills and psychologically.
Everyone... mainly white folks saying how Wilder is humbled now... but gotdamn its boxing and confidence and talking shyt and being arrogant sells tickets in boxing.
I remember Fury was all in Wilder's head too when he used to tell him that he was a real shy, easy going guy and very humble before his 30 or so wins... which was true.
Dont sleep on Fury's study of the game, like Ali, he knows a lot of boxing is psychologically winning before even you get in the ring.
Wilder needs to get with Floyd's dad... develope some better defensive movements as he's athletic enough to do and counter punching... i believe that could be taught in a limited time... also get with Lennox or Klitschko to show him how to effectively jab with range to throw the right... these two were masters at that... it probably won't beat Tyson Fury again, but it would help win against with an AJ or AR.
Bottom line... to qoute the great floyd money may... He's been "a hell of a fighter and had a hell of a career"
considering he's had no real boxing skill and started the sport late especially being from a state like Alabama where becoming a boxing champion or even making an Olympic team in boxing are slim to none.Hell, I've been all over the deep south like ms, al, ga, tn, la for many youth sporting events for many years and I don't ever remember running into a boxing gym or anyone talking about it or associated with their kids or any kids boxing... football, track, baseball, bball, gymnastics, yes.
I'm glad he was on this big of a stage... im still rooting for him... but if he wants to be a real elite boxing champion with TF in the picture... hes gonna have develop better fundamental boxing skills at minimum defensive, counter-punching and cleaner jabbing with a new team of trainers.

The level of ass whopping he took is inexcusable. All that shit popping and he folded. Tyson Fury held back because of the rematch clause.
And dude had the nerve to talk shit after the fight. “Warrior” is nowhere in the conversation after an ass whopping like that. And to complain about his corner throwing in the towel?....
If dude congratulated Fury and admitted he had things to work on, I would give him a minimal chance but that “I was dealing with shit outside the ring....my leg was already hurt“ talk reiterates the lack of commitment to excellence on his part.
