FOH! This ain't a la carte. You can't pick portions of this situation that better fits your narrative. I married into a family of Guyanese immigrants. Ask them how they saw "ADOS" people when they first got here, and they'll ask you, "Before or after the days where we jumped going to and coming home from school, just because we had an accent?" Some you muhfuckas act like black immigrants came over here, moved into black neighborhoods, and were greeted with a welcome wagon and fresh baked pies.
They were greeted about as well as if it would have been vice versa.
ADOS are descendants of Nigerian ethnic groups, and these muthaphuckas wont think twice of calling you akata. What can you expect from any other black group if the people you came from will do you like that.
Also that family sounds ungrateful. Getting the hands from pookie or ray ray sounds a hell of a lot better than the alternative. Carrying water for some 5'2 Indian on their land on the outskirts of Georgetown while they berate you. Yeah, thats the Guyana I know, and I know getting a few hands from poor black kids was a lot better than that.
