SNOWFALL FX discussion thread

That was a real as discussion they had. Franklin needed a little wake up call and he got two, one from Leon and one from seeing the real effects of what the drugs are doing to people.

Manboy is actually becoming useful
Once Leon gets over the wanda thing it'll be different between them. He even apologized about Wanda to Leon

Wanda is completely gone it's crazy and looks like Mel is on that trajectory

Told her it's been fun but now it's time to rob you.

Franklin shouldn't feel too bad tho
Mel was doing cocaine to start
But shit it's the reality of it all

I don't know because I was a shorty back in the 80s but I think that CIA Crack had some other chemicals in it because the crack monsters of the '90s were fucked up and this day and age they pretty fucked up, but back then that shit seemed to have a harsher edge to it. I never really seen lines bending around the corner in the '90s or in the 2000's some spots are jumping but not quite like that I'm sure that fresh new crack had a weaponized government made chemical in it besides just pure cane and baking soda

Example I had an Uncle who was a serious cluck but he held his job for 30 years was a good worker paid all his bills but spent his nights hitting the pipe but managed to stay somewhat decent

I guess I'm the only one who found that episode to be rather sad.

I agree because people didn't know what they were getting into, a lot of people became clucks really by accident like DMX he thought he was just hitting a blunt his boy left in the ashtray he didn't know it was laced and his own words he said his friend created a monster

Because as @BAG said, a lot of people didn't know what they were getting into.

I feel ya... but even still... she seen wanda.. n how she looked before n after... even in real life i seen the shit before my very eyes... my brother.. so but i didnt feel sad or n e thing like that.. i was like shit he was looking for a higher high n he got it.. still to this day hes a functioning addict...

I respect your opinion but I'll say this it's 1983-84 at the time of that episode. I don't think people had the full grasp of what that drug could do to you... I think I'd be harsher on Melody if it were maybe 1989-1990 or so because by that time we know fully what crack could do.

It was the fact that ppl started doing shit to their recipes to make it different than the next guy
And made it more addictive than initially.

How didn't they when there were crack houses which she was in
And she knew Wanda smoked crack
Wanda was all over the neighborhood
The police officer entire mission is cause smokers are laid out on the streets

She was doing coke
Then dude said let's smoke crack she said why not
And that was that

Even with everything you said, I stand by my point that nobody in 1983-84 had a full grip on how addictive and destructive that drug was even with crackheads and crack houses around..

Nobody knew it would last for generations
but they absolutely had an idea this shit was bad...and not just drug bad...real bad.
You act like there was no frame of reference during that time lol heroine existed
they know what junkies looked like.

This epi brought back some bad memories.
Close family member of mine...going to school..life going good. Then all of a sudden, sold his car, days later the stereo, days later his tv, days later the house tv...
:smh:

Then I dated a woman who was talking about her sisters husband.
Went out for a smoke one night and never came home. Left wife and kids at home and he was the breadwinner.
Find out weeks later he had spent all the rent and bill money on crack.

Just a story of many...Thats why I say this opiod epidemic ain't have nothing on Black neighborhoods when crack droppped.
And our neighborhoods recieved nooooooooo help or compassion.

There was a whole scene in which you saw a bunch of young kids smoking rock casually like it's weed. If that scene is taking place in 1983 or 84, it hasn't sunk in (at least widespread) that crack is not just another party drug.

You are looking at 1983-84 thru 2019-20 eyes.

Yeah people thought it was another party drug like cocaine, but once that rock got a hold of they ass :smh: they become a slave to it.
Andre about to see Melody go full crackhead chasing that first high.

I actually hope that occurs, so that people can see the harshness of it. The crack era wasn't watered down and the story shouldn't be either. I found myself thinking of loved ones who had no idea what they were getting themselves into. The impact of it was everlasting and the crack babies of the 80s/90s are now full grown adults, passing on more bad advice/ways to the next generation.

I rank crack 2nd only to slavery, as far as impact on the Af. Am. community. Everyone of us was touched in some form or fashion - just read through this thread if you need proof. This was the best episode by far.

So I had to catch up. I just watched the first two seasons and now on the last two episodes of season 3. Hate that I caught in to this late cuz it’s good. I dig Franklin but this shit is getting worse they killing all the time now which isn’t good for business. I hope that DEA bitch is dead last episode I seen after ol boy shot but I didn’t see if she was dead or not.
