Jermain Dupri was trying to make the same deal with NFL and Jay Z talked him out of it

No disrespect and i dont want to argue...but i WENT to 2 Jermaine Dupri/NFL concerts last year at the Super Bowl. I'm not understanding how he let someone talk him out of it just bc someone else (not named Jermaine Dupri) said it

My Ghetto senses are going off. People were already shitting on Jermaine Dupri for doing the little shit he did with the NFL.

What could ANY man have said to him to turn him away from the power and the money of this deal. All for a guy who is best known as Janet Jackson’s boyfriend?

Jay played a lot of people. Luckily many of my Atlanta folks think on their own like Big Boi and Travis Scott. JD did the shit with the NFL because of the bread trust me. All I will say is stop believing every thing you read. The NFL did a deal with Live Nation thru Roc Nation for the diversity thing. They did not do a deal with Jay Z. Jay Z is just the face. You have to understand who really owns Roc Nation to fully understand the play. NFL is playing chess. Jay Z is not going to be a majority owner of an NFL team. Minority maybe but their are many black minority owners. Hell Warrick Dunn is a minority owner of the Falcons. Contrary to what you hear Puff has a lot more money than Hov, and the NFL did not even consider him when he made a play for the Carolina Panthers. This deal was made because LIVE NATION made it happen and they are using Hov to handle the black community. Hov has always been about the bread so props to him.
Black people DO NOT have the money to buy NFL teams or any professional team and never will. They have been priced out.

Remember when the Clippers were for sale and every rich negro was scrapping their pennies together ( including Puff ) only for Ballmer to come and pull 2 billion out of his back pocket, overpay for it and price black folk out in the process.

Sports teams have always been for the mega wealthy and black folk are not, no matter how much Diddy dances.

I think we're just making commentary on an action and incident. No feelings required.

You however, are blindly defending a mans actions and an incident without consideration of the methods or means. Feelings required unless this is your job.

So you're either dick swinging because you like it (ie, feelings), or because you are being paid to (ie, whore).
Nah... I just like seeing y’all in ya feelings. It’s amusing
Kap could possibly get a job back if this goes thru. And y’all still mad.
Emotions usually defies logic

You're from atl saying this?

Am I lying? I’m not hating on the brother, if that’s how you took it. He is talented and has a legacy. But he currently has a show on WE tv. You can’t tell me why being a Billionaire Sports Owner and influencer wouldn’t have been a (controversial) power move.

Ding!!! and the NFL and NBA are totally different levels of wealth. In my opinion this is what happened. The NFL started calling around for people to perform at Superbowl festivities. Many said no because we are signed to Roc Nation and we ain't supporting ya'll. They found out about this Jay Z dude and said who does this nigga work for. They Found out Jay is SIGNED to Live Nation and Live Nation uses many of the venues that their owners own for events. They made the call to Live Nation and said get this nigga in check and threw some money around. Live Nation went to Jay and said this is what is about to happen and we are going to use Roc Nation to run it thru for the diversity angle. Jay knowing that he owes a lot of favors really had no choice in the matter, thus the stumbling and bumbling at the press conference. Now they working the media angle to try to make him look good. The end.

Also possible

People have made the exact same arguments every time someone sells out.

And years after the fact, the person that the closed-minded niggas was calling "sell out" is looked back upon as a pioneer.

So you running around here calling somebody making moves like this a "sell out" tells me everything I need to know.

Jay has no choice? He doesn't have to do anything outside of the realm of the live nation contract. Live nation cant make him do shit.

Seems like this is becoming more of an emotional conversation than logical.

I get some of you are really hypnotized with hate for Jay for whatever reason, but at some point you have to look at the facts.

Come on guys. It’s not the end of the world.
Kap might be good now. What y’all need to do is rally around jemelle hill to help get her job back.

Again, not hating on JD. Sorry to come off that way. Owning a professional sports team seems to be a step up for him, in my humble opinion. That is all.

Why not basketball? Teams selling for 2-3 billion. Why not soccer which probably is better long term investment

Yes. You're lying like shit. Or are extremely ignorant. He put you country niggas on the map when niggas outside Georgia thought atlanta was just another southern dixie pride shithole. You need to respect that guys contributions to the your cities culture my man.

So emotional. You are BGOL “gangsta”

I think you are saying what I am. I’m not hating on JD, not trying to prove some hypothetical point. I’m just saying if a person is in a power position, why or how could something Jay Z says dissuade you? That’s my only point

I guess this part of the deal wasn't offered to JD....

Jay-Z's stake in the nets was one-fifteenth of one percent. Let that sink in for a min. Heads in here were acting as if Jay was a sole owner of the Nets. He has as much decision making power as you or me when we buy a share of stock in Apple. If you think that Jay's stake in an NFL team is going to be substantial, you're high as 10 kites.

He has better insight than Kap, Reid, Jemele Hill, Bomani Jones, and Kaps lady?
He just laid out th facts. If he lied point out the lie. Let's deal with facts only.
