NFL Free Agency 2019....... (OBJ to the Browns!!)(Leveon to Jets!!)

Steelers offered him a true $17M guaranteed. He got $35 million guaranteed from the Jets. He also didn't have to take the risk of playing and getting hurt on a contract that wasn't guaranteed. Yall fucked up. There is no guarantee that he would have played the full season and not gotten hurt. He's already been through a season that ended early on a major injury.

More years and more salary don't mean shit in the NFL. It's all about guaranteed money. Contracts get reworked all the time and players get cut without ever getting that "salary".
Guaranteed is the only word that matters in the Not For Long league. Everything else is bullshit.

Giants signed Tate and guaranteed 24M.. but they already had a slot receiver... but even worse

"To add insult to injury, the one positive coming out of the Landon Collinssituation is that the Giants were going to get a third-round compensatory pick for their star safety, who left for Washington. By signing Tate, the Giants will cancel out the compensatory pick and instead send another third-rounder to the Eagles, who are already getting one for Nick Foles."

It's like the person running their team as early-onset dementia. I know people are in the office like  "he said to do what now? You sure?"

The Giants just keep fucking themselves over and over ... Not many quality WRs in FA, but I can't get an understanding for their strategy. Get rid of all young pro bowl ballers that may have HOF potential? Tate can play, but he's not changing the defensive schemes or playcalling.

No doubt. A true mutant..i shouldn't have used an outlier like that to make my point.... he doesn't even run like a 35 year old RB either and he runs in a kind of bruising style though... Gore makes no sense to me... it's just great vision to still be able to be productive like this at 35 considering he's not fast.
when he got hurt to end the season, that should have been it for his career....but i knew he would be back. and he's going to give you 15 carries and 70 yards every game..lol

Damn is gore a hall of famer?

he gets in IMO won't be quick tho

This^^^^^^
There is no reason for him to be in the game this long....
There really shouldnt be any doubt about him and the hall when he retires...
He has never stood out in any year.... but you can't deny the production.

I think Frank is going after Barry Sanders all time rushing record !!!
He only needs like, a little over 500 yards to do it
Love that dude man

Emmitt Smith 18,355
Walter Payton 16,726
Barry Sanders 15,269
Frank Gore 14,748
Curtis Martin 14,101

It's odd to mention Gore as one of the RBS of ALL TIME. It doesn't feel real. I can't think of his most memorable games as easily as the others.

You ain't lying. I can't even think of a great run he had in the pros smh.

Frank's had some good games against the Seahawks
But yeah he's never been a bruiser, like Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson
Or never had the top end speed to take it to the house like Chris Johnson, from the Titans
But he's always been just consistent & steady
Just constantly churning out 4 yards, 4 yards, 5 yards, 5 yards, 4 yards, etc, etc

Most memorable GAMES? I can't even think of his most memorable runs? He's just been GOOD forever in a position that has a very short shelf-life. He gets major props from me though...his vision and feel are just amazing.

Exactly.

When you see a lot of RB's stats, they might have 100 yards on 20 carries..but they'll often have 2 20+ yard runs in there to balance out the very short gains/losses. Gore isn't giving you the big runs, but he's giving you 4-5 on every run.

I love it! Give us another comp pick next year

With tate and Shepard, Shumur must be intending to run a passing offense consisting entirely of wide receiver screens, eight yard curls, shallow crosses, and quick outs.

Then again, Eli has trouble getting the ball more than fifteen yards down the field at this point, so maybe that's smart.

It’s the oddest thing in the world but he is.... i think it snuck up on everybody. Dude is getting in the hall. I honestly don’t see how they can deny him... the guys above and below him are in the hall.

Basing anything you do on a qb as broken down as Eli is, is retarted af.

They should be basing everything on trying to get Eli's replacement.

Im saying...

People saying Bell messed up.

But he got his money

Ok i understand Steelers claim they would NEVER cut bell in the first 2 years...

But how can a player EVER trust a team?

Especially when Bell is known to have "issues" in the recent past
Cuz, people really need to stop listening to ESPN and the national media. If it was about money Bell lost. Read.....

Ed Bouchette: Le'Veon Bell's contract with Jets even worse than it first looked

Le’Veon Bell vowed to reset the NFL’s running back market in 2019 after refusing to play for the Steelers in 2018, and he did just that.

He set it back.

The details of Bell’s four-year, $52.5 million contract with the New York Jets have been reported, and it’s even worse than it first looked.

Bell will earn $26 million in the first two years of the contract, $25 million of it guaranteed. There is no other guaranteed money in his deal.

The five-year, $70 million deal the Steelers offered him last summer that he turned down included $33 million in the first two years, $20.5 million of that guaranteed in the first year, as reported by CBS’ Jason LaCanfora.

Thus, Bell may have set another NFL precedent – the first player in history to hold out an entire season for less money.

The Jets reportedly were the only ones bidding on Bell, and he had nowhere else to turn when he accepted their deal Monday night. It is far below the annual $17 million he once predicted he would get and not even close to the virtual guarantees he would have received from the Steelers.

NFL Network reported that Bell received only an $8 million signing bonus from the Jets with a total take of just $14.5 million in the first year. Had he accepted the Steelers’ offer, he would have earned more than double that by the end of 2019.

His agent really screwed him, not the Steelers.

I guess he thought more teams would be bidding on him.

Guess dude was just done with the Steelers ain’t no way around it....

Unless he really felt the market for backs would be pricey, the safeties got paid this offseason, not many back were there for him to be in high demand especially with his issues
His agent is horrible and he really thought he would get more money elsewhere.

He know he fueked up if it was about the money. Even his mom told him take teh Steelers deal. He can't say anything else but what he got was beautiful. But who holds out for less money?

Well to close this...

Its done.

All thats left is the result.

If he breaks records jets make play offs he makes the hall and goes in as a jet and becomes a ny icon with no major injuries or CTE?

He won.

Hell if he has 3/5 more productive years even

He won.

Cause its not really about money in the end, its his life.

Same with AB... who got PAID.

if they HAPPY, HEALTHY and win even with no super bowl?

They win this over the Steelers

To me?

ALL the pressure is on Ben, Tomlin and the entire Steelers ORGANIZATION

Cause if next season

No play offs? Ben still talking sh*t with no repercussions and Tomlin is still perceived as a leaser coach? And the GM doesn't make any big move?

To me that is a major indictment.

Again we will all see VERY soon.

No with Brown trust it was ALL about the money. Did you see that ridiculous ass press conference? If the Steelers can find a collective group of productive guys that can get it done without the drama and headaches I'll say it was worth it. Only time will tell. Bell won't be running behind DeCastro, Foster and Pouncey so we'll see how it all plays out

I think bell did right. Bell did get more guaranteed money with the jets than Steelers were offering. Bell was looking out for his future and health. He was getting injured every year and they were running bell into the ground and he wanted to be compensated for it. Steelers should have gave the man what he wanted. 85 catches in season for a rb is insane and no telling how many run attempts. That's alot of touches for a rb. With the jets he want get as many touches unless the jets change up the offense. I remember when Ladainian Thomas went jets everyone wrote him off but he was still solid over there.

There is no doubt that he did the right thing. Only journalists with an agenda and scorned Steelers' fans think otherwise. He got not nearly 20M more in guaranteed money without taking the risk of putting 400 more touches on his body on 1 year non-guaranteed contract. And even the steelers' extension offer was really a one year deal.

@meilmarc --- Fam.. Thoughts on this?

He is a huge upgrade over Gabbert... and we really didn't give up that much...

But ...

I still need another gawd damn Defense End and a defensive tackle..

We also need a new guard now..

but this move... is purely

Mariota insurance.... Now and next year..
