Crime is everywhere worldwide in The UK, Brazil, Jamaica, Mexico or wherever. Crime rates and murder rates vary from country to country or city to city. Their language or dialect or how they talk has no bearing on what city has the worst crime.
That ain't nothing to brag about or be proud of or to minimize either. We had this same conversation or competition in The Worst Projects thread over which housing project was worse than the other.
As far as gangsta rappers that's always been the complaint. Are the rappers real gangsters or posers? Most of the time they are posers or at least out of the game. Making records celebrating and broadcasting your own illegal crimes isn't a very smart idea. But crime is crime regardless of language or country.

Parts of Jamaica is a hell hole...a few cities in Mexico are atrocious due to the drugs...don't know about Brazil though.

Eastern European and Russian slums will snatch your breath away -
Johannesburg etc in South Africa will change your outlook on life
the London and Paris pretty much invented urban crime- they innovate violence and gang life
England has home grown gutter thugs then add in irish jamaicans russians and nigerians to the mix

That's what I'm saying. My first thought for London or Britain are those movies like Snatch and Lock Stock and Barrel. Fictional films of course but showing the brutal crime and violence of the criminal underworld. Some places are worse than others but you don't want to be caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Gang violence goes way back to places like Sicily with the Italians clowning or even 18th Century NYC. Gangs Of NY. But going back to at least the 70s when Crips and Bloods were growing huge and GDs and Vice Lords in The Chi these gangs festered and just got worse especially in The Chi.
