BREAKING: ICE arrests rapper 21 Savage, says he is actually British and overstayed visa

If I was on his PR team I would spin this beautifully. The UK opens up a whole new market for him.
"Aye 21 Savage Bruv, we gonna be massive. Man just got hot, ya dunnow. First things first Bruv, we gonna link ya up with Dushane and them man them for Top Boy 2019 season. We gonna go on tour in Brixton, Nottingham, Chealsea, Peckham, Tottenham, Camberwell, Lewisham and Hackney Bruv." It's gonna be Massive Bruv.

The thing is this. Dude is 26 he’s been here 14 years ... he’s been in America longer than he was over there. So he can’t be from the streets because he spent his first 12 years in England? So then Gucci Mane fronting too right ?

Listen, I understand your angle and you're right. I might be embellishing the whole thing a bit but
If you from somewhere else...ok SAY IT. NOBODY had any idea. He came here at 14 years old, He dropped his first music in 2014
This dude been HIDING his past BIGTIME so to me that takes on a whole different aspect to his gangsta

Check out his Wikipedia.....NOTHING

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_Savage

I get what you're saying. I know some Brooklyn cats that rep Brooklyn harder than folks born in Brooklyn. When I asked them why they don't rep where they were born they tell me they weren't raised there. It's like me being born in Jamaica but I'm a Bronx nigga since this is where I was raised. I don't deny being Jamaican but I don't rep my parish or town because I didn't grown up there. Most of the shottas I know from Jamaica are family members and folks I met here in NYC.

I can walk to Slick Ricks house in 5 minutes. Cool cat who I didn't know was from the UK for more than a decade until his deportation came up. I always assumed he was born in Jamaica because of the truck jewelry, gold fronts and Kangol hats he always wore. Also what I came to know as rap music was what I had already known to be called DJ dance hall reggae music in Jamaica. So I figured he parlayed one into the other since he knew the lingo.

Still though 21 been here more than half his life. Went to school in the dirty south. Got banned from schools in the dirty south for a gun charge. Went to juvie in the dirty south. He took part in a life of crime as a Blood and sold mad weed right there in the dirty south. I don't even care for his tatted look or music but he's more hood certified than most of hot talking rap damiens that stay getting air play and never did any dirt. Migo's ain't gangsta but they rap that shit and get a pass none the less.

If he is about to be deported, wouldn't it make sense for him to hide it all this time?....he actually seems to do a few things in his community so I guess you could do worse as far as mumble rappers go in repping your city

Well He has a felony now. I don't care WTF he's done for his community
He should've been walking on eggshells, then MAYBE he would have a shot.
They just said He applied in 2017 for a new Visa that was pending BTW

ICE is trash... I'm sure dude will come through this alright bc he's sitting on mad capital. Worst comes to worst and he can continue his flex in the UK. Hope this shit doesn't fuck him over too bad

Wow. His mama English as fuck. Not even Caribbean. ENGLISH.

And from age 13, he really had to WORK on that accent , so he wouldn’t stand out. I noticed in an old interview he said he got in a lot of fights in 7th grade. Now I see why.

It's important to note that a lot of black originated entertainment and culture from the U.S. is being PARODIED.
Even by black people.

I don't know if what I just said is understood, but that's the best way I can explain the underlying questions of 21's situation.
I’m gonna change my earlier response to you. I kinda agree with you now.

HOLD THE FUCK UP!!

the breakfast club just accidentally said that 21s daddy is that British holistic dude that comes on there, Dr Amsu

Lol no everybody is clowning dude on his post about it, trying to act like it ain't his son

Here is 21 when he came out saying his daddy was a junky and how Atlanta is HIS

I have a female friend that is Guyanese. She immigrated to the states as a teen and was reared in NYC. She talk wit an east coast vernacular, but she cant escape her West Indian accent. Its thick as hell. She still got fam over there and reps Guyana harder than NY or America. I find it hard to believe that 21 as a first generation immigrant even as a teen didnt maintain a british accent as an adult, especially if his peoples still talk like that.

Theres nothing wrong wit 21 being from another country. People only tripping cuz its coming across like he was hiding it. Kinda like Rick Ro$$ whole CO past he tried to hide. Tell the truth and keep it 100 and no one gives a fuck. 21 aint the first foreign born rapper to blow in the States. I dont wish bad on dude, hopefully he can get his shit together.
