UFC 230: Cormier vs. Lewis - Sat. Nov 3rd, 2018

They saved the card, that was the goal. They both got paid a shitload of money to do so. UFC didn't have a main event a month out. Then they scheduled Eubanks/Shevchenko, that was a joke. So they needed those two to fight. Went down as expected.

Got mad love for my guy Lewis but DC is the man. Lewis should’ve just went balls out swinging because DC was just buying time until he was ready for the takedown.

No surprise, DC doing what he does. Lewis only chance was just to risk it and come out swing hoping to catch DC with something. Happy they both got a good payday but this should have been a rematch with Stipe. That Lesner match gonna be pure shit, but I guess UFC looking for a high gross ppv.

Who would win between Cain Valasquez vs DC?

Plus, how do you think UFC fighters from the 1993/1994 era would stack up to 2015 to 2018 fighters of today?

I would like to see Reyes vs that Nigerian kickboxing dude.

Props to DC.

Great job from Adesanya. Nice knees & strikes to close out the 1st round for the win over Brunson.

Solid fight from Souza & Weidman. Both had their moments ... good to see Weidman switch up the striking a bit. Great job from Souza making it a tougher, grittier fight in the 2nd round. Amping up the pace and volume ... and good sportsmanship at the end when he knew Weidman was done, but ref Mirugliotta was slow on calling it in the 3rd. Fun to watch the 2 of them strike it out ... as they could have easily just gone to their immediate strengths in grappling, wrestling & BJJ.

On a related note ... go back and watch the early prelim fight from Frevola vs. Vannata. Get it online (or on FightPass). Really action-packed with a good pace. They would probably have won Fight of the Night bonus $ had it not been for the quality co-main from Souza & Weidman that delivered.

Just finishing up the 2nd round of Frevola/Vannata over breakfast at the moment.

Man... that wasn't even worth the watch. DC is boring as fuck... but is effective. He just smothers you.

Team AKA baby. Smother and smash is all they know.

Cain would never fight DC. But DC Iq in this sport is unmatched.

DC most likely won't lose at HW unless Jones moves up there to fight him, HW is too shallow right now and the only HWs that would dominate aren't in the sport of MMA right now
