Thor: Ragnarok - Official Discussion Thread

Somebody post the mid credits

below in white text (highlight to see)

thor, hulk, valkryie, loki, the warbout and the remaining people of asgard are in the ship heading to earth and they are approached by dominion I (thanos' warship)

which explains why in the beginning of the trailer for avengers infinity war why thor crashes on the the hull of the guardians of the galaxy's ship.

Did anyone notice Loki when he walked by and glanced over at the tesseract. It left the door open for another Thor movie.

no it left them trapped by thanos' ship at the end credit where he hands thanos the tesseract (the space stone) in avengers infinity.

Didn't like that they butchered the Planet Hulk storyline. That could have been a Hulk movie. Oh well. This Thor flick was kinda funny.

Imagine if they had the rights to everyone and did a World War Hulk movie...

This Week's Squirrel Girl Comic Has One of the Cleverest Stories About Loki You'll Ever Read

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is a frequently smart and delightful comic, and this week’s issue, a zine-style anthology of stories that actually barely features Squirrel Girl herself, is no exception. But its best short story is all about Loki—and strikes at the duplicitous heart of the character in a really fun way.

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #26—by Ryan North, Erica Henderson, Rico Renzi, Travis Lanham, and a veritable host of guest artists—happens after a nearby superhero brawl destroys a local library. To repair the damage, Squirrel Girl recruits a bunch of her closest friends (everyone from Howard the Duck, to Kraven the Hunter, to... yes, Galactus through the lens of Garfield’s Jim Davis, actually) to create an anthology comic fundraiser for the reconstruction.

The whole issue is a hoot—the aforementioned Galactus-meets-Garfieldskit is wonderfully corny, and there’s everything from a heartwarming tale about Wolverine and a Sentinel, to Howard attempting to mail in a steamy duck-on-human romance scene. But the highlight of it all is Loki’s spread-page tale (written by North, with art from Carla Speed McNeil and Rico Renzi, with lettering by Travis Lanham), “Welcome to the Wonderful World of Loki.” You’ll have to click the magnifying glass in the corner and then open in the image in a new tab to see the whole thing in its full resolution:

You read it in a clockwise spiral starting from Loki’s introduction of “Ciao,” as he goes on maligning his ill-gotten reputation as a trickster and a liar, and about how, really, he’s a good guy who wants the best for the world. That is until you get to the center of the loop, which invites you to read the whole thing in reverse. The implication of Loki’s dialogue gets flipped on its head as you go about recursively, without it actually changing. You’re just reading it from a different point of view. Quite like how Loki himself actually operates!

Clever, a bit tricky, and there’s even a bit of Cat Thor for good measure. What more could you possibly want out of a tale concerning the God of Mischief?

Genius.

there will be no more Hulk movies, sadly. Had some great storylines they could have used. Was looking forward to seeing Leader.

They just did an interview on this and said the Leader is still around and they havnt forgot him. They go on to explain that right now they have an abundant amount of riches and they dont want to force him in. But do plan on using him. They said he will probably show up in someone elses movie cause there will be no more standalone Hulk movies

Finally got around to seeing it today. Really enjoyed it. Making it into a comedy was the right decision. The first two films were lackluster. Adding Hulk and making him less of the angry mindless brute made him into more of a character than just a CGI wrecking machine. Loki was a likeable and redeemable character. Probably my second favorite none Avergers marvel film next to the Winter Soldier.

Guessing Dr Strange will repair Thor's hammer and his eye.

Also was the ship at the end Thanos or the Guardian's on a bigger ship?

Thanos

The movie was good. Better than Thor 2,Ironman 2,Ironman 3. To me the best movies in the marvel universe is Captain America and Captain America: The winter solider. My favorites is Dr strange, Ant-man and the first avengers and guardians of the galaxy movie. I got no love for ironman 2 or 3. Shit was hot garbage.

I enjoyed the movie...I could have gone without seeing it in the Theater (prob will go see Justice League and Star wars in the theater so this was low on the list) but it was pretty good. This wiseass Thor is pretty good...I hope they continue with him that way moving forward. Also the fact that he seemed to be up on Loki's tricks is good too...i thought they had some good brotherly moments in this movie and you can almost see the mutual respect between them...

Best moment between the two of them for me is when Thor was in the elevator talking to Loki and he basically told him - that he's come to accept the fact that Loki is who he is and he will never change...then right out of the elevator he goes to double cross Thor, but Thor is one step ahead..i thought that was a GREAT scene..

Also...when heimdall was leading the people to safety did anyone see a parallel to heimdall being like Moses? I know in Norse Mythology that Heimdall is white, but to see Idris Elba being the caretaker and leading them to safety..i thought that was cool..i may be over analyzing that part of it...

All in all, it was good not great movie, but I wouldn't see it again in the Theatre...up next...Justice League and/or Star Wars

This movie was good. I was entertained, kids loved it, had to answer a question or two about some things (orgies, anus) like i did with Spider-Man (porn, marry kill fuck game)... but other than that another solid movie in the Marvel movie universe...

My only question is, does anyone remember the infinity wars trailer that leaked? I'm asking because i don't recall Thor having an eye patch or a missing eye when he crashed into the guardians of the galaxy ship, nor when they brought him inside the ship.

You're right. My guess is they CGI'd his eye to not give away Ragnarok during ComiCon

This shit was funny as hell. I hated them other boring THor movies. Props to Marvel for seeing a problem and straight up overhauling it. Glad Idris got a little more screen time in this one too lol.

Funniest shit to me was how Loki acted everytime he saw Hulk. Still shook from that ass whooping.

the other thing that was interesting is banner saying since he's been hulk for over 2 years , if he can changed back to the hulk again he could potentially be the hulk forever. at the end of of the flick he was still hulk. i wonder will that be addressed in infinity wars?

universal is not giving up those world wide distribution rights. sad too because hulk vould go in so many directions.

Some of y'all are lame af.

Do this or shut the fuck up. Quit bitchin, take your L for spendin money on somethin you don't like or make what you think is a better movie. I bet that shit won't even make it on syfi.

After A month... I finally fucking saw Thor and I loved it. It was the perfect tone for Thor. If you watch the first 2 movies... there is actually this extremely nice story arc in place with Thor and Loki. You have to remember that at the Start of Thor... these guys didn't have any real experience with Midguard. You can then see how their interaction with humanity has made them more human.

I do think that once again Marvel has a villain problem. I've got no clue what Hela was trying to do. I would have liked some flashbacks to her relationship with Odin and Thor's mother. I think you needed that to establish why she wanted it all to burn.
I also hated and loved what they did with Skurge. I loved the change to him, but wish that he was able to survive for another movie. I hated what they did to Korg though. I didn't like making him softspoken.

Also... am I crazy but did I see Matt Damon playing Loki in the play.
