I support everyone that wants to boycott. My point is, if you’re boycotting watching games because you personally don’t want to view the product because of how you feel, great.

If you’re boycotting because you want to affect the ratings, unless you have been contacted by Nielsons and have a box attached to your television, the only person who knows whether you watched or not is you.

Your watching or not watching has no effect on the ratings unless you are doing the survey.

And what people don't realize is the team owners were already paid their TV and ad money thru 2020.

I hope they are just doing it off principle. The NFL dont have to play a single game this season, they already made their money off the tv deals. The NFL basically told yall this 2 years ago when they redid the CBA, and the players union caved on negotiations because they knew it was true.

My feature seeds nor nephews won't be playing that backward sport. The fans both black and white are just as antiquated in their reasoning and one foot in the grave just likes it players.

My nephews, swim, play soccer, baseball and their are involved in tech and photography.

Can someone finally write a detailed expose on this whole survey and Neilson ratings system?

Cause it been damn near a century and nobody in and out of the industry can ever explain how all that shit works and how they got a monopoly on one of the most powerful measurements in the world.

Yes the money is already paid but ratings do matter, if they notice a substantial number of people not watching it'll send a message.

There's millions of white fans who aren't boycotting anything so the boycott probably won't do much but it's the principle.

Good for you. I dunno how you get to decide what your nephews get to do but cool.

I haven't watched football in years. Not because of CTE and the players. I just got bored with it. Im not necessarily against the sport I just don't care for it. If anyone wants to play it, I'm glad they can make a ton of money for risking their health. I do watch Mma and boxing so I can't necessarily say I'm too against people doing crazy shit to get money or being entertained by it. And I respect the work and talent that goes into it. I just ain't entertained by football. For those who are , and now want to fake boycott it, I have to laugh. It's just one reaction after another

I didn't their parents did. I just help carpool and go watch the games/practices . My homie was a linebacker and his college career ended early so he said his kids will never play.

I have a homie former pro who was featured on the news locally. He ran head on into the front door of a cvs. Cops said he was drunk he said nope it was early cte. Bgol brehs and their white same aged counter parts aren't around for the days when it hurts to roll over in the bed via tossing and turning. He doesn't think he'll make it to 50 sadly with 2 kids and a wife.

So my inside mole at Nielsen's here in DC states that Nielsen ratings are simply an extrapolation of percentages of boxes they send out to "chosen homes." They're FAR from an accurate measure of viewership.

Each box is supposed to represent some 2,000 people. Based on those views they "assess" what "people are watching" and multiply for a national average. What they don't take into account is what constitutes a view and what doesn't.

If a guy is at a bar and is watching something, does he constitute a view? He should, but doesn't.

There's very little to suggest that Nielsen ratings are as accurate as people make them seem but all that aside, it's the principle of the matter.
