Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Explain to me, as a GM of Denver, why would you want Shump?? And why would you trade Wilson for a lessor asset?? You mean to tell me they couldnt get more from Wilson than Shump??:hithead::hithead:

If you go back in the thread, I spoke on Mundaiy as a trade option. I just said Chandler is a better player and also spoke on wanted to be traded.

Cleveland has a habit of fleecing teams in trades so Chandler for Shump won't be as outrageous as it sounds on paper.

Of course we know why they do it all I'm saying is if a guy plays 4 years and they get to dissect their entire game(but you KNOW what they can do) it shouldn't be penalized and then they draft a dude who played 1 and there are still question marks yeah it does workout sometimes and you get a star but I'll say this. It's no coincidence you see a lot of the same teams in the lottery year after year.

True. I look at a teams like the Sixers and the Lakers - especially the Sixers - drafting some of the top underclassmen year after year, and their teams STILL wack.

Now, that does have to do with the fact that, in MY opinion, players aren't being developed during their formative years like they used to. Tell me if the Sixers in the 90s got to draft underclassmen like that, there team wouldn't have been beastmode in about two to three years.

They been saying they giving Yogi a 2 years deal

It's other guys like that out there but people chase names all the time

It's plenty of hoopers in the world

And as far as Yogi specifically man when these dudes play 4 years it's held against them when they are the ones probably ready to help an NBA team right away but teams drafts so many busts who can't play right now on potential and the experienced young guys end up overseas or the NBDL a lot of times.

Nigga set himself up for good.. can in playing like a mofo possessed, like they threatened the nigga with life in prison

Lmao @ak_rep thinkinh Cleveland was getting on the phone.. Gilbert ain't spending no more bread

It would be very outrageous;they haven't fleeced no one; jr and shump didn't play well in ny;and quite frankly they don't play well unless LBJ is playing; he's the difference; majority of these guys are bums without him; and shump is averaging at best; Wilson is an above average player which Denver could get a lot more than shump; im not going to even talk about Mudiay because that just dumb; there's no way in your right mind that you can tell me Denver can't get more for Wilson; and again shump does nothing for where the team is going....

Yep you are correct a lot of it has to do with the teams that pick them, the coaching staff, and the players desire to get better. Also from a standpoint of the team I know the most, I'll tell you something about Carlisle the young who have came in and got clock from him are not those 18, 19, 20 year old guys. He will let a guy who played 3 or 4 years of college(recent examples of Ferrell, Finney Smith, Jay Crowder, etc come to mind) get a chance tho cuz Carlisle is terrible at development I don't know if he has no desire to do it or he just can't.

That's why if the Mavs are going to truly rebuild he ain't the man for the job.

Man that young man was out there playing his ass off trying to secure his spot in the league and he did it they signed him to that new deal today

Of course they can get more and your bugging if you think Shump and JR (former 6th man of the year) are bums.

Also if LeBron is the major difference maker, why couldn't Mudiay improve under his wings? Butler and Leonard improved dramatically in the right system. Why can't Emmanuel?

I have never stated that they can't improve, of course they would; the pretext is Denver trading good assets for below average assets; no gm is doing that; shump does absolutely nothing for their team, nothing...and they are bums;they are erratic players; hell they are erratic playing with LBJ; they would be much worst without him; have u seen how them players look when he doesn't play; there's no reason at all for Denver to trade with Cleveland, none......remember Cleveland has no assets; they have no draft picks or young players to trade; they got love because they gave up 2 top 5 picks; actually 3 my bad; they only have trade exemptions......

I'll say this. Weirder things have happened in the league so it's not far fetched. Rationality goes out the window with desperation sets in.

glad you mentioned what i was getting at.

Why would they trade a building block piece for their future to the cavs for any of the dudes on the downside of their careers?

That's what i keep asking and no one wants to answer..every one thinks the cavs be getting over on trades; they gave up a lot for love Wiggins and towns right? Plus Bennett who was a bum but he was a high draft pick; shump and jr were average erratic players and they still are; i don't like the Atlanta deal becauae they could potentially meet in playoffs but atlanta cleared salary and received a 1st round pic for a player they wasn't using and is on the downside of his career.....

Cavs part. They gonna do everything to keep LeBron satisfied. He gave them their chip so his part is done. Him bolting is always a possibility.
I agree totally with that and they should but again it takes 2 to trade; they have no assets outside of trade exemptions; most teams would use trade exemptions for a player like noah; and if the cavs use those exemptions they gonna be paying out the ass in luxury tax; bro cavs gonna have to give up love to get anything in return.....

Why he want the cavs to do better ain't he a pacers fan?
LOL
this is what I'm talking about.

Indiana basketball in general. And Yogi is from my home state. But I was just fucking with these dudes though. It wasn't that serious.

Beatdown was who's that, lol. And he and DC got to worrying and scrambling. Would've been a nice addition to the Cavs though: run off on the plug, aye.

Lol not worrying lol; it's all fun and games and junk talking lol..but where you from in Indiana?

The Knicks putting pressure heavy pressure(for talking heads wise) on them.

They can always trade Shump...lol

I've been seeing that; i think the cavs feel like melo doesn't really make them better;also he needs the ball to be effective just like irving and lbj; i don't see it working well; i think love fits better with Cavs than melo

Ha ha, yeah. Indianapolis. Bounced as a kid, came back most summers. But that's where most of my peoples are from. Great basketball community but a racist state.
