Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Wesley Matthews was robbed of whatever athleticism he had due to that achillies injury but he is tough he bounced back about as well as he could

Yeah, he's tough like a young Stephen Jackson. Just a gamer. I didn't realize that he was this good. Not saying he's all world, but he has a shark mentality.

I would trade Shump for Chandler since he's requesting a trade. Chandler allows LeBron to play the three and also brings points and rebounds.

Once JR comes back, Shump's role will decrease so you might as well get something worthwhile for him.

For Denver they get a young vet to play alongside a young group. I think they want to make Will Barton their point so with Murray at the 2 and Shump at the three, that's a nice core at the wings.
Explain to me, as a GM of Denver, why would you want Shump?? And why would you trade Wilson for a lessor asset?? You mean to tell me they couldnt get more from Wilson than Shump??:hithead::hithead:

That ninja ain't worried about his backup, he trying to stop being a backup....

I'm mean I like chandler game and shit but Shumpert, Kyrie and Bron handle the pg duties.

Shumpert offense been click and his defense is at a high level as we speak.
Also don't act like Shumpert ain't in the final minutes closing out games.

Depend on matchups(when they're at full strength)

Kyrie
Shump
Jr
Bron
TT/Love

This was before Shum found his offensive touch.
Just for kicks and giggles; who is Kyrie guarding on the Dubs? And Jr is gonna guard KD?

Cavs have no one to offer...

10 Day contract playa. Don't know about rights of refusal, do you?

Ran off the plug.

Hes signed to Dallas right now so they have his rights; if they dont resign him then he becomes a free agent and goes back to the d league....

But that's for the length of the contract. Which is 10 days. I don't believe they own his rights after that.

If im not mistaken; they are allowed to sign the player to 2 10-day contracts; after that they have to sign the player or release him; i think dallas has his rights; kinda of like how Miami had whiteside rights once they brought him up

Y'all shook? I think they'll try and work out something. But don't sleep.

What you mean y'all? I don't care where the dude goes but honestly speaking his resume ain't there for a contender to take a chance on him

They been saying they giving Yogi a 2 years deal

It's other guys like that out there but people chase names all the time

It's plenty of hoopers in the world

And as far as Yogi specifically man when these dudes play 4 years it's held against them when they are the ones probably ready to help an NBA team right away but teams drafts so many busts who can't play right now on potential and the experienced young guys end up overseas or the NBDL a lot of times.

Well, only a small number of freshman can declare their first year, and actually get drafted. Obviously they are perceived to have some amazing upside in order for you to take a usually unpolished player that soon. Now, the guys that go the whole four? Probably good players, but how much upside do they usually have?

Everybody's looking for that game-changer, and its just a chance you take. Steph Curry's don't come around that damn often.

You take the 6-4 guard, with above average athleticism, and average athletic build who can shoot it and put it on the floor. . .

. . . or the 6'4" guard, with the 37 inch vert, tier 1 quickness, long wingspan, with a great feel for the game, yet underdeveloped and but showed drive to really work on their game?

Basically its, do you want Kobe or Kerry Kittles.

You can't TELL me that ain't a hard decision to make, cuz.

Majority of the drafts now are young underclassmen especially we talking first round and lottery

All I'm sayin is there are dudes who can help teams but they never get a shot cuz teams drafting athletes with no fundamentals or international players

Of course I want Kobe but Kerry was a good player

You want Wesley Matthews or James Young?

Yogi Ferrell or Wade Baldwin IV?

But, my point was, you know WHY they're drafting potential vs polish. Its a crapshoot, but you DON'T take that chance at ALL?

Kobe could've flamed out, and even had two injuries before he started his first regular season. You don't ever know, man.

Think about Lebron pushing Wiggins out wanting the NOW player. You don't think in his heart of hearts he wouldn't take Wiggins over Love right now? Shiiiiiit.

Of course we know why they do it all I'm saying is if a guy plays 4 years and they get to dissect their entire game(but you KNOW what they can do) it shouldn't be penalized and then they draft a dude who played 1 and there are still question marks yeah it does workout sometimes and you get a star but I'll say this. It's no coincidence you see a lot of the same teams in the lottery year after year.
