Official NBA 2016-2017 Thread - 30 teams, 1 goal. 2 weeks left, so much can happen!!

Gotcha...but let me ask you this; what lineup is Korver going to play with against GS and who does he guard?? I dont think it makes any sense to play him against GS for long periods of time; and what I mean by long is anything over 5 mins; Cavs dont use Kyrie to guard Curry whatsoever, so that means Jefferson or Shump or Smith has to be on the floor the majority of mins; so how does Korver get on the floor???

lol@anything over 5 mins. I doubt they signed him to play some Robert Horry type role.

I understand that he's a lability on defense, but that can be worked around with the proper play calling. The Cavs arent at a dead end JUST BECAUSE Korver doesnt have great defense. A few switches here and there and Korvers defense flaws can be hidden. Durant and Klay aint gonna be on the floor dominating at the same time for 48 mins per game. So I think Korver will find time to get his at either SG or SF. Everything will be based off the flow of the game. That flow will be based off how their main guys (LBJ, Irving, Love) set the stage.

I understand that some people have a habit of only looking at GS and worry about whose gonna defend their players, but to be fair you have to think about whose gonna defend the Cavs top Players as well. None of GS players can really stop LBJ or Irving. But they can slow them down via team defense.

This aint a 1 vs 5 thing. This is about TEAM DEFENSE. Where one lacks, the other helps carry the load. Ive saw that method used plenty of times when my Bulls had Tom Tibby. We barely had two good defenders on the floor at the same time, but we managed to stay a top 5 defense because we understood the importance of team defense. The Cavs will have to use the same method when Korver is on the floor. LBJ being able to play multiple positions helps them a lot.

You been kinder and gentler ever since the Cubs won the series, so what can we expect from you if the Bears win, Chitowntreehugerhippy maybe?

Imma get Obama's name tattooed on my back.
I dont know.....

I dont know.....
Did you see the game on xmas; do you think GS had any issues with the cavs?? Korver to me is a spot duty player at best; hes not the same as he was 2 years ago; to me he doesnt help them at all against the better teams; but hey every body has different takes

Ok, I've talked to Paul and he's open to resigning if we're willingly to offer him a max deal.
:giggle:; Ok, you are the sixers GM and you have talked to Paul into resigning for a max deal why??? and also what you going to do with Noel and Okafor??

GS wouldve won that game if a few calls wouldve been called toward the end, but neither team was really running away with the game on that day. Also, after years of seeing my Bulls own LBJ and Miami in the regular season, then collapse in the playoffs, Ive learned not to use regular season games to gauge how things will be in the playoffs.

As Korver being a "spot duty player", we'll maybe the Cavs will find a way to utilize that.....who knows. Korver hasnt even played a game for the Cavs yet, so we dont know how he'll be used. But I still stand by my opinion that Korver gives them something extra. That extra-ness Korver gives them may help push them over the top in a close game 7. We'll see.

I agree with you totally on not using reg season games as a gauge; but what people are not talking about is this is a brand new GS team; 2 new starters and 3 new rotational players on the bench; and look how they played in that game; forget the calls; they were dominating up until 7 mins to go in the 4th; fuck the calls, dont turn the ball over like they did, and they win easily; hell, dont have 3 unforced turnovers in the final min of the game and they win easily; I said that to say, they are gonna to get better just off the fact of playing with each other more; remember this Cavs team has been playing together for 3 years; GS, just this year; Thats why I feel GS will win, barring major injury....
As far as Kover, I still feel he wont help them much against the good teams; Im waiting to see if Toronto will push for Millsap; now that will be interesting

Yea, Noel going to Toronto since they missed out of Paul. We had talks early in the season but I didn't pull a trigger. Being a young team I had to get a good sense of the squad(normally those things happen after a month or two). The Process Embryo is ahead of schedule which give me and the organization something to smile about. Ben is maybe a few weeks, he should be a full strength for the last month of the season. We have a strong stable of young talent that needs time to develop(some likes to call it growing pains).

The addition of a talent like Mill, critical to me(remember I don't know much, I've been around some very knowledgeable minds). First and foremost he WANTED to be here, secondly his game is all-around. We have a vision of pairing that skill with "The Process" to have a inside/outside presence that the nba have never seen.

Not many team can say that.

Millsap defense at the 4 slot is well respected through your the league. He also can guard against those rock and rolls, dribble driving wing players and but most importantly get out in transaction.

I think we this addition the future is now, that's a very good starting lineup.

Simmons
Henderson
Nik/Sta or Covington
Mill
Process

Now you pair that with Oak, Patterson who came over from the raptors, the lottery pick we gonna get this year, some other players I'm forgetting at the moment, I apologize fellows.

We have some of the best fans in the world and they deserve better.

It's either you first or you're last and we been last for too damn long!!!!

Were building a roster to beat Lebron.
You have teams out here helping them, how disrespecting is that to you're fans.
The very people whom pack the arena nightly.

Anymore damn question?

You have "strong stable of young talent that needs time to develop"......right yet you are going to sign a 31 year old player, whose turning 32 next month to a max deal:hmm:; And by the time that young talent develops, if it ever does, Millsap will be useless; how does he help your team right now?? how does Millsap help develop your team??

Oh so you gonna trade Noel, ok ok; Lets see Millsap is making 20ill so the salary situation has to match up; Noel is making 4.4 mill; you are 15 mill short; who you adding that Atl is gonna want???

Millsap wants to be there :hmm:; why would a player towards the end of his career want to be on a young losing squad that isnt going no where any time soon? and how did you "convince" him to want to stay???

This lineup wouldnt be able to beat LBJ until about like 3 years; and thats really pushing it; and that would only be because LBJ will be on the downside; but here is the kicker, SO WILL Millsap; which would make Millsap useless; Again who are you adding in the trade that makes the numbers work and also makes the Hawks wanna trade?? And why would the Hawks take Noel when they already have Dwight?? Noel and Dwight on the floor together isnt working at all....You are thinking about your fans but adding Millsap adds what maybe 10 wins to your team, if that; You are still a lottery team!!!;

Well you do know we're operating at less than 85% of the cap right!

Well strange things has happened around these parts, normally they have been in our favor.

Mr. Day I'm sure you don't watch us but we've been battling with those guys. If they're a measuring stick, I'm pleased with our progression. Let's been honest were creating a buzz around the league.

I've never suggested the hawks were taking Noel. Actually I stated he's going to the Raptors, because they missed out on Pau and Noel was there first choice early in the season.

Now if we're gonna have dialogue, no problem just stay with me, have your info together!

Knicks were looking tough out the gate but fell off. I thought they were due for a win, but I don't know now. Still a lot of game left.

Paul would help the youngsters to becoming model citizen.
There's an unbelievable amount of praise that follow this young fellow. You can go all the way back to his college days at La Tech, during his tenure with Utah(which I'm sure he felt outta place)then to Atl Hawks.

If there's anybody you would want around your raising stars he's that guy.

Very good locker room guy true; now match the salarys MR GM....

But the Bucks aren't. They're gelling pretty good. Better than the last time I watched them. They may be last year's Detroit.:dunno:
Yes, Greek is playing well; Bucks are starting to come together; I like their team but its young though; not sure they will be able to get out of the 1st round yet...

Now yall see what I mean about the greatest drop off when LeBron hits the bench. Never have I seen a player benching have this big of an affect on his club.

Ok...I've come to the conclusion you read what you want to read Mr. Day.

You told me why the money can't work, I showed you how it will, only for you to ask me again how it will work.....let's see first it was Black Mamba, then Obama, I'm name my self trauma.

So Trauma out!!!

Road that's only because Most of those coach run it thru Lebron, but Kyrie is always there to counter other teams runs late in the 4th quarter

:lol:ok bro the sixers should really trade for Millsap, makes sense....

LeBron runs the offense like a well oiled quarterback who knows how to distribute the ball getting everyone involve and creating space. With him out it Kyrie runs the club like a running quarterback who cannot throw or get other people involved and is forced to run or hand off play after play.
With LeBron and Kyrie in the game at the same time Kyrie becomes more like a slot back or a dynamic wr who is allowed to use his athleticism to dominate in the proper spacing.

Well strange things has happened around these parts, normally they have been in our favor.

The report misspelled a word in that quote...

Was pose to be "haven't" been in our favor.
