I hear the media try to compare this Warrior team with the Heat and Celtics, but to me its more like Ray Allen going to the Heat, where as by the system was already intact and the team already made it to the finals..
The Warriors are not building a new system, they are running or should be running a modified version of what worked last year... Whats kind of scary is that they are under performing with the big three putting up numbers, I think it would be better for them if someone like Duran or Curry was off then you could say that once they get going they would be good to go..
But from what I seen about the Warriors this year, is that offensively they are do much more one on one iso ball, this is not a biggie because they match up very well one on one vs most teams, but unlike last year I am not seeing as much ball movement..
Then their is no lift from the bench and this is going to be a factor in the playoffs vs deep teams, I agree with Van Gundy when he says he thinks they may make a trade or two to fortify this weakness..
Lastly there is the lack of interior defense, well defense as a whole to be exact, it seems like this season they either play the perimeter or the paint, but not both like last year.. They are going to have to work better at team defense and being disciplined with their individual assignments, this I believe may be the easiest to fix but its going to take a lot of time and hard work, yet is no guarantee it will work especially with Curry and Thompson (to quick players but lack the proper foot speed on defense to stop one on one dribble penetration), with out a rim protector cleaning up their mistakes its going to be tougher for them on defense..
These are the three things I think the Warriors need to work on, if they want to get back at their level of last season...
