And the thing is I never said they were coons or anything like that
But the type of niggas they are it's not surprising their women selection
That's all that's it
Either you get it or you don't
yea they not coons, they are who they are. They're both biracial to begin with. Given their upbringing, they are never going to be like Katt Williams or someone. They hit or miss, corny SNL types that see the behavior from whites and blacks. And the thing is I never said they were coons or anything like that

isn't that generally how MOST people define blackness...particularly black people. The "hood" is constantly referenced as THE home of blackness but the hood is the poor section of town.this dude needs a passport. He defining blackness to being poor in America and talking with slang. He should have said this was about a socioeconomic view rather than a sign of blackness.
Kay and Peele speak from a middle class suburb black experience. So they will always hit and miss with whites and poor blacks. At the same time, they can reach both crowds. Negative and positive.
That was actually a deep pro black skit, it was sarcasm that cleverly points out the racism that blacks have to go through.. This may be considered white people comedy because white people do it all the time, they will make a movie that many blacks think its cool but in reality they are underhandedly dissing us... Well in similar fashion they are underhandedly dissing white supremacy while pointing out what we have to go through... They key is they do it in a safe, happy playful manner, almost in a manner that a racist white person would considered funny.. But this is the key to getting over the dissess and insults to them...
Now look at the video again and peep how they are dissing white people, in a way that may be entertaining to them..
Kefta I think you really missed the point. You also do realize that 'Negrotown' isn't possible in MOST African countries b/c white / Indian / Asian people run shit socially / economically / politically right? So Negrotown could actually apply there as well too. You're basically looking for a place like Zamunda (the fictional Black Panther country)... Actually I'm too lazy but someone can make a thread listing the over 50 African countries and who runs things in that country in those three spheres... We'd all be suprised / depressed.
By that logic stop using U.S. currency because in essence that is white supremacy!!!Again, there is nothing that white people are supporting that is supposed to make the system of racism/white supremacy weak. Hence, I do not support this.
Like Aries told you, "They can go back to the hood and hang with niggas and not be out of place".![]()
But who in reality actually does that, without the context of the appearance of "street cred?" Key was just in the D promoting his Detroit based comedy troupe and I believe he stops in on his alma mater U of D which is in the hood.
I saw Keanu which was very good. Never once did I think, "this nigga aint been back on 7 mile."
*shrugs*
I once heard a black comedian say you ain't hood unless you smoke weed, been to jail and have two baby mamas... I heard on so called conscious brother say who here hasn't been locked up...It's a saying, Jay z ain't in the hood either![]()
I once heard a black comedian say you ain't hood unless you smoke weed, been to jail and have two baby mamas...
It was some hood ass motherfucker in some small club and yeah he got a palm face from me...You actually heard a comedian say that
![]()
What has he ever done funny other than an impression or two? The fuck does he REALLY know about comedy?
And then you on Vlad TV with this shit.
They're doing blackface comedy from the perspective of white people but they happen to be Black, if that makes sense.
Dudes in here are missing the point. Key and Peele came after Dave Chapelle who had a much edgier style of humor that did at times mock what white people BELIEVED of Black people. That's why it worked so well and appealed to Black people cause we saw the inside joke.
Key and Peele have always come across as very safe comedy that goes out of its way to not make white people uncomfortable. Occasionally they'll have a good skit like "Magic Negro" or "Negrotown" but most times they're playing to the "I don't feel Black enough" crowd and that's a very small group of people.
On a side note Spears made a real good observation. The fact that both dudes are interracial and both married white women says a lot about how they feel about themselves. To me its telling.

I wish I was....I was being sarcastic
i'll repeat the question:
open question..when a black person becomes successful at a thing, particularly if they get attention from whites or nonblacks...why is their "blackness" always questioned??
I know it doesn't happen to every successful black person but it happens enough to deserve speculation...
Jealousy they don't have the wit or means to connect to a larger audience.I'll piggy back on that question and ask one of my own.
My question is; why is it that there is ONLY one brand of Black/Urban comedy that is deemed "acceptable" as funny by so-called "real niggas"?
Decades ago; we had successful Black comics who were dirty & hood as well as Black comics who were clean & family friendly.
- Richard Pryor & Bill Cosby
-Redd Foxx & Flip Wilson
-Moms Mabley & Nipsey Russell
-Eddie Murphy & Sinbad
-Whoopie Goldberg & George Wallace
So why is it now that we only have one definition about what comedy type appeals to "real niggas"...?
So, no "real niggas" found Bill Cosby, Sinbad or Flip Wilson funny...?![]()
I find that when people talk about "real niggas" and whats lame or corny...if you look at what they think is funny its usually very profane and crude. And those two elements are REALLY important to them. Anything thats not base and violent or sexual in content and doesn't have cursing or enough cursing is deemed corny period. And the comedians who do crude profane humor tend to have issues with those who don't and are successful.I'll piggy back on that question and ask one of my own.

What's happening now is "niggas" are the authority on what blackness is.I hate the term "Real Niggas"
Its hit or miss with them.Everyone has their lane and them niggas cater to white folk humor.. No knock on their hustle but their humor doesn't go anywhere else
I understand where you're coming from but I do my think that's not the perspective that I'm speaking of. Aries touched on it a bit but it has more to do with the type of comedy that they're using.
It's about "Blackness" but not the way that you're thinking. When they perform in what they perceive as their "Black voices", they're loud and boisterous with the "Yo Yo Yo's". When in reality if someone came to us talking like that we'd ask them "Why are you talking like that".
Aries hit it right on the head. They're doing blackface comedy from the perspective of white people but they happen to be Black, if that makes sense.
JUDGE FOR YOURSELF...MIND YOU KEENAN WAYANS ACTUALLY SAYS YO YO YO IN HIS COMEDY PORTRAYAL OF A BLACK DUDE FROM THE HOOD..So they're essentially caccooning...
when the wayans do it its classic...
but when K&P do it theyre sell outs?
Lol I hear you bro....JUDGE FOR YOURSELF...MIND YOU KEENAN WAYANS ACTUALLY SAYS YO YO YO IN HIS COMEDY PORTRAYAL OF A BLACK DUDE FROM THE HOOD..
