Homefront: The Revolution's multiplayer beta kicks off Feb. 11 on Xbox One
Hit-and-run tactics will win the co-op missions against the occupying army

Failure is an option, according to the narrator of the latest trailer for Homefront: The Revolution. Standing toe-to-toe with a much larger occupying force is a good way to accomplish nothing, she reminds, so your mindset should be to hit and get the hell out.

"We fight, we fail and we fight again," she says. Keep that in mind when Homefront: The Revolution launches May 17 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

Additionally, the game's closed beta has been announced for Feb. 11 to Feb. 14, and it will run only on Xbox One. Two other "closed beta stress tests" will be conducted by invitation only this Friday and on Feb. 5, also only on Xbox One. Xbox One owners hoping to get in either can sign up at the game's official website.

The trailer above and six screenshots below are meant to highlight Homefront: The Revolution's multiplayer, a four-player co-operative game called "Resistance Mode." Friends will be able to form up a cell and engage in guerrilla missions in occupied Philadelphia. A news release said these missions will also fit into the game's larger narrative.

There will be 12 missions for Resistance Mode at launch, with another 20 planned for release over the next year. All of these missions will be released free, so that all players can join in them.

Homefront: The Revolution is one of our most-anticipated games for 2016, mainly for the intrigue surrounding the game's development and the creation of its developing studio, Dambuster Studios, which was spun off from Crytek's 2014 reorganization. Check out it and all of the other games we're looking forward to here.

How to download Left 4 Dead 2 on your Xbox One! (Digital Version Only)
  1. On your Xbox One, search for my gamertag: Apherix

  2. Go into my profile and look at following/followers.

  3. Find Left 4 Dead 2 and continue selecting it until it lets you download it.

  4. Download/Install.
I don't have the digital version so where it says, "bundle only" there should be a download/install button instead.

Insomniac Games Announces Song of the Deep for Xbox One

“Don’t Tell Your Daughters They Are Pretty,” said the headline.

“Screw you,” I thought to myself. “I’ll tell my daughter whatever I want.” I don’t need some amateur psychologist blogger telling me how to be a parent.

But then I started noticing how often my daughter was complimented on her appearance and how that had become such a big part of her identity. When she told me about the female characters she liked in books and movies, she would always begin by telling me they were pretty.

It was good that she was happy with how she looked, but I didn’t want that to be what she valued most in herself. She’s artistic, smart, kind, funny and resilient. That’s who she is. Those are the qualities I want her to appreciate in herself.

That got me thinking about games and the kind of heroines we create. Most of our female characters are sexy badasses. Now I happen to love a lot of those characters, and I have no problem with characters being sexy.

But I wondered if, like my daughter was doing, we sometimes saw the sexiness first and everything else second. At the time I was just starting to work on a new story and I wanted to make a protagonist whose heroism came only from the inside. One who was only heroic because of her character.

And that’s how Merryn came to be.

Her journey in Song of the Deep is about courage and discovery in a haunting and lonely world. It’s a journey of love and heartbreak. It’s a story about who we are and what we care about. It’s also about what it means to be heroic and how we sometimes lose sight of the best qualities about ourselves.

And if you don’t care about any of that stuff, that’s totally cool. You’ll get to pilot a submarine through a beautiful and deadly undersea world that’s full of challenging action and puzzles. There’s a deep progression of abilities and upgrades that you’ll need to master in order to survive. You’ll explore a vast Metroidvania environment, both with your submarine and free-diving.

Our first priority is always to make games that are fun. This is a game made by gamers, for gamers. It’s a game we love to play ourselves. But we also hope it’s a world that pulls you in and entices you to explore its deeper mysteries. We hope it’s a journey you will remember for a long time. And we hope that Merryn is a hero who reminds you of the best, and sometimes undervalued, qualities in yourself.

Song of the Deep launches on Xbox One in Summer of 2016.

I'm grabbing a season pass for this shit. I played with a random cat, but I want to be with a team that communicates. We're rescuing hostages from MSG and teamwork and communication are needed...this person is quiet as shit.

Mass Effect: Andromeda and Titanfall 2 possibly delayed until 2017

We already knew that a new Titanfall game was coming, what we still don't have are specific details about it besides the fact that it's a "new Titanfall experience". However, according to an EA financial report, we might at least have a release window for it.

In EA's report they said that the game will be released during their fiscal year 2016, that goes from April 2016 until March 2017. They haven't actually mentioned 2016 as the release year so it might narrow that window to be between January and March of 2017.

In the same report they also mentioned Mass Effect: Andromeda. EA actually says that the game will be released later in their fiscal year, which puts it in the same 2017 release window as the new Titanfall game. It sounds like the game might be pushed back. Only time will tell.
