Following several leaks, Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the 2015 S-Class Coupe ahead of its scheduled debut at next month's Geneva Motor Show.
Not surprisingly, the coupe shares more than just a name with the recently-unveiled S-Class sedan. Swept-back and more flowing than the sedan, the Coupe has a lower greenhouse with a tall beltline, a long hood plus more flared wheel arches. At nearly 200 inches from head to toe, the S-Class Coupe is undoubtedly a big two-door but that fits with Mercedes' intentions.
The Coupe's front end bears more than a passing resemblance to the sedan but the rear end features a bespoke appearance characterized by elegant, understated styling cues such as thin horizontal tail lamps. The trunk lid is fitted with a discreet spoiler reminiscent of the one found on the CLA.
Headlights equipped with 47 Swarovski crystals are available at an extra cost. 17 angular crystals make up the daytime running lamps and 30 round crystals form the turn signals.
Inside, the four-seater S coupe features frameless doors, a dashboard largely carried over from the S-Class sedan and a sporty, coupe-specific three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel. Naturally, Mercedes' new camera-based safety and convenience equipment is all on board to help the car detect impending collisions and to monitor traffic.
Mechanically, the S-Class Coupe shares the bulk of its engines with its four-door sibling. The entry-level S500 model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 engine that sends 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of torque to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. A larger exhaust line gives the Coupe a throatier growl than its sedan counterpart.
A V12-powered model called S600 and at least one AMG-tuned variant will join the lineup later in the production run.
The S-Class Coupe inaugurates an updated version of Mercedes' MAGIC BODY CONTROL that enables the car to learn into curves like a motorcycle. Designed to reduce lateral acceleration, the system is active from 19 mph to 119 mph.
Following its debut in Geneva, Mercedes' flagship will land in showrooms next summer. Pricing information will be published closer to the car's on-sale date.

CL??? This is an S class and will cost you at least 120k. Mercedez rapes people just like all german luxary cars. Shit will probably be more like 150k when you add shit like air for the tires and windshield wipers.
i got once last week, its ok, not the best car but it will get you where you need to be.
didnt feel baller enough for me, so i gave it away...
Naw they just renamed it what it should have been in the first place. They did the same thing to the E-class.
I like everything about the car besides the grill
