Sooo.....I made the switch to the S3...

no one has to pay for an android app

unlike the iphone, you can just download the apk file and add them to your phone without rooting

hell sometimes you can just google the app name and apk, and youll find the app you desire

there are also sites with damn near every app you can imagine for free

if this has already been covered....my bad

How I get adobe flash on this thang? : angry:

Not in the play store. Trying to get x-hamster to work so I can beat da anaconda in the restroom stall at work. : lol: j/k

Try using DOLPHIN WEB BROWSER, instead of the stock browser.
I like dolphin a lot better, download the app, it's free.

:):):)

How to tether 4g? Any free apps to turn your phone into a hotspot?

Nevermind, t-mobile included mobile hotspot. Icon was sitting right there in my wide ass face. :smh:

Finally,

Got the S3 to work. Rang T-mobile to explain my problem. They mentioned that I forgot to register the sim card. I told them that I tried to register the Sim number that they gave me, but T-mobile in their wisdom decided to give me a card with only 12 digits instead of the 14 which was required.

Long story short the kind lady rectified the problem.

Now this is my first upgrade for about 3 years. I have never had a iphone so I can't make comparisons. I am loving this phone.

Can anyone recommend any half decent apps, Paid or free.

This Task killer I downloaded sucks ass. I go manually use the app and it's still doesn't kill them, so I'm un installing. I'm one of those people that don't like stuff on my phone just to say I have it.

I mentioned some apps I like a few post ago.

There is an app I'm testing now. It's called Llama. It puts your phone in different modes depending on your location. It mostly uses cellular towers instead of just GPS to help save battery. If you want to set your phone to be silent when you are at work it will do it automatically for you. You can set it to automatically put your phone in hands-free mode when you are driving. You can even program it to go into "do not disturb" mode when it detects you are at your girlfriend's house. lol. You can set the modes by location, time, or both.

It takes a little time for it to learn your locations at first but once it does you are good to go.

I will give an update on it later.

you dont really need a task killer. hold the recent apps button, and when your recent apps pop up, just swipe them away.
Note 2? How about that S4?

s4 is just a rumor.

I see Cerberus in the play store that was a free version, is that the correct one?

yeah, it has an in-app paying feature. it will expire in 5 days. I like it better than Avast. Its only $3.99

Yeah, this phone also sends all my text and email messages to my car so that I can read it on my navigation screen and it also reads it to me. The iPhone was not able to do that. That shit shocked me this morning:lol:

:lol::lol:Jagu and MadWun have been converted.

if you have a data plan with your carrier, yes.

Let me rephrase, Right now, my jailbroken iphone allows me to tether my ipad for internet access, If i switch to the SIII, will it allow me to do the same?

I need an app for blocking calls/msgs besides call blocker because I don't want to see that the shit is coming or even that they attempted to text/call me.

Mood is foul right now

Jelly Bean added app encryption for paid apps so what you said is starting to become untrue.

Never mind my low post count....

Guys if you want to tether out the box on your android phone you have to pay the provider. They all have a built in tether app that you never use unless you pay for it. If it's not on your plan and you use the built in tether you'll end up having to pay extra that month.

If you want to tether for free, root your phone and use one of the root tether apps. I prefer Wi-Fi Tether. There are pay options that don't require root, but I've never tried them.

I've been tethering for free for years on my android device. I use a crappy HTC Thunderbolt....I'm jealous of you SGS3 owners!

s4 is just a rumor.

Recent apps is similar to a task killer but not the same. What it actually does is kill any background or empty processes of the application and then notify the services of the app that those processes has closed. It's then up to the app to decide on if it's going to stop what it's doing, or continue. If you have a runaway process swiping may not stop it.

To completely stop an app long press on it in recent apps, go into app info and force stop it. A Forced stop is equivalent to a task kill as the app won't start again unless you request it.
