Just got the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" for my daughter. Cool tablet for her. Its not heavy at all. The cameras are nice as well. The display is nice and bright. I havent done much else with it yet. I will set it up for her and then give a better impression on it.
updates?
I wonder what will be in the market by Summer next year
the ipad 4th generation
Asus is releasing a windows 8/android dual boot tablet. Not sure win though.

which probably wont have usb slot and will be very expensive

Nope. Not an ipad killer. Not even a Playbook killer (even though its already dead).
I'm not a M$ fan in the least bit (except for XBOX )…not even when I had the old WM joints…BUT
that shit there my nigga…….that shit there?……
I like that shit….could be a game changer……IMO it is going to hinge on the Marketing scheme they come up with.
AOTS did a segment on the MS tablet a few days ago.If they sell them for 150 then they will kill everyone and everything...Price and specs are the real deal
What's the best tablet for watching movies that I have, uhhh, acquired?
I'm thinking about getting a tablet for travel and it will mainly be used for watching films. Which is the most robust in terms of file types? Would also need a strong battery life.
Acer Iconia A500 is just dropping. Reviews are pretty good so far, and its got a decent price.

Since you will be watching movies on it, i would assume you want something thats capable of handling extra space. With this (and other android tablets as well) you can store movies on a memory card up to 64gbs, PLUS, you can get a thumb drive or portable hard drive to use as well, since this has a USB 2.0 slot. A 150gb tablet is a good choice. No need to rely on cloud service, especially if you wont be near any wifi areas.
also, you will be able to watch damn near every format, from mkv to avi to mp4 to flv. No conversion required. Just get either MXVideoPlayer or Diceplayer and you will be good to go. 720p HD playback if flawless.
