Cowboys reach agreement with CB Brandon Carr

the dallas defense will be different with to major factors, replacing t new, but also with a full off season, to fully understand and execute the defense. with free agency, we have filled a couple of holes with solid players. In the last 10 years the best players dallas has drafted was Dware and dez, they are great players but you need more firepower on defense and/or offense. This draft will show what were are willing to do to truly get better!

I'd like to take DeCastro, but if Ingram still on the board...I'd look real hard @ taking him.

Man, if Ingram and DeCastro is there, I don't know what they should do.
Hell, they both might be gone before we pick.

As far as Poe, I love his combine numbers but I'm concerned about him being a workout warrior. He has boom or bust potential.
If he hits, he could be a beast.
If DeCastro, Ingram and are gone, then take him.

If Poe wasnt already predicted to be a late first or 2nd rounder then yeah I would consider him a workout warrior but dude can play

His combine just moved him up about 15 spots

I'd like him to eat blocks, I was reading they're saying he may move to end in a 34...if that's the case, I want him looking @ JJ Watt & emulating him.

I'm like SK though...if Ingram & DeCastro on the board

Was he predicted to go that high though? I thought he was rated as a 2nd or 3rd rounder.
That fool shot up like crazy after the combine. Same as Bruce Irvin.
One mock guy put him as the 3rd rated PLAYER in the draft.

Yea, have somebody who can bring pressure or collapse the middle would make Ware break records.
Maybe even let Spencer get decent stack numbers.

But yea, as far as the draft, DeCastro #1 but I would be really thinking if Ingram and Poe's there.

Maybe drop a couple of spots and pick an extra 3rd? I don't know man.

We need to get a decent TE to replace Marty and give us what he didn't.
Especially with Robinson gone, maybe they need a good TE to take Laurent's place and give this offense a new dimension.
That TE Dunsmore looked pretty good at the combine.
Some Cowboy fans were looking at him in the 4th or 5th but his combine performance upped his stock.

Players we need to get in the 1st 4 rds:
DeCastro OG
Ingram OLB
Poe DT
Jenkins CB
Dre CB
Perry DE
Barron S
Curry OLB
Ta'aam DT
Irvin OLB
Harrison Smith S
Josh Robinson CB
Dunsmore TE
Hanna TE

They are suprising me with this shit bro

They are really going after it for 2012

I think the Giants winning another one was all they needed to see

Even another Romo injury is not going to stand in the way this time

Cowboys going for a super bowl or bust type of season

Yeah the Giants winning again especially since his team could've prevented it really got to him, not to mention people never letting him forget that 09 draft disaster. As fans we should still be skeptical as hell because of this teams history, but i do like the quiet positive moves they're making:yes:

All i have ever wanted as a fan is for the team to really address the needs in the offseason Cowboys had been bullshitting about that the last few years

If your team does that then you can live with the results

But when the reason you season was a failure is the same shit that we wanted fixed then nah thats what pisses the fans off

We need to address WR and CB in the draft...

Can get Danny Coale and Jayron Hosley both from VT!!!

They comparing Danny Coale to Wes Welker...they missed on Brandon Flowers when they drafted Jenkins...dont need to miss on a smaller but faster version of him in Hosley

Hokies and Cowboys all day!! :D

If they pick a CB with the 1st pick i might be upset since DE & NT need to be addressed. WR can be taken care of in the 2nd round but as of now we need pressure.

yeah we need pressure on the QB

as of now we have the same guys and they didnt get it done last season

Yea but I also think another year under Rob Ryan's system will benefit our pass rush. I also think Jason Hatcher and Sean Lissemore are only getting better. I do want to upgrade our pass rush but I don't think we should reach for a guy like Ingram or Upshaw. But man I feel like we're in position to pick the best player available in that 1st round. If its Ingram or Upshaw shit take them. If its Decastro take him.

You don't think Victor Butler can rush the passer if he's given more chances?

I think all he is and ever will be is a situational pass rusher

If we was ready we could have let Anthony Spencer walk but he just isnt better than Spencer and probalby never will be

im all for it best player available that doesnt play QB, RB, WR, TE, or DB(though I wont complain too much if we get one cuz this may be Jenkins last season)

Yea i'm down with that. Even a corner but I hope its Jenkins and not Kirkpatrick.

I know we hate the thought of getting cute but with all of these free agent signings what you think about trading down? I hate that thought but being at 14 and having the holes the Cowboys have i'm not sure if I wouldn't be totally against it. But shit someone could slip and fall.

This cat Vickers seems like a cat that's going to turn this locker room around. He doesn't seem like a cat that's going to take no bullshit and gonna be okay with the vaGiants coming into our stadium and dancing on the star.

no trading down!!!

and yeah you can tell Vickers is a Texas nigga mayne :lol:

im shocked the Texans didnt keep that dude

You wouldn't trade down to 20 and get a extra 3rd round pick or some shit? I'm not against it. If that cat Decastro not there? I wouldn't be opposed to trading down. But at the same time getting cute never usually works.

And I didn't know Vickers was from Texas. He reminds me of a nigga I use to play football with. Shit he reminds me of a lot of niggas I use to play football with. His whole demeanor. He's not takin' no bullshit. He said he loves to hit people. Man that's what we need.

He made Hillis look decent. Blocked for Foster. I'm shocked he was available. He's still in his 20's too.

He from H-Town he graduated from Forest Brook thats on the north side

We can debate these points until Rapture, but nothing will change (at least for the 2012 season) unless we somehow get Ratliff to the outside. NONE of us would be on 10 if Kirkpatrick fell to us in the first round and we got him. ALL of us would be on suicide watch if we didn't get a decent NT in the proceeding rounds.

I mean I want us to slide ratliff to the outside and get a nasty NT too but it doesnt seem like we are committed to doing that sho we need to bring in better pass rushers ever from the DE spot ot the OLB spot

And nah I wouldnt be mad at all if we drafted Kirkpatrick

Kosier was released after we signed the 2nd guard

We paid both of the lineman starters money to come here im not so sure we are drafting decastro or maybe the team thinks he will be gone by #14 which is a strong possibility as well

I'm one of the few who don't believe switching Ratliff to the outside will fix our problems. Not if we don't get a pass rushing nose tackle who can command double teams. Everyone talked about Solai out of Miami. You can't just place a fat nose tackle in there and hope to increase your pass rush. The guy still has to command double teams. I think to prolong his career Ratliff will have to change positions at some point but i'm not sure if its a must right now.

When I see what Justin Smith does I know Ratliff can do that same shit playing end and then moving inside from time to time as well

He is the same type of beast of a player

I think Poe can be the player we want in the middle

DL/OLB is looking like it will be the pick first

We gave 2 free agent limeman money to start

I dont think Decastro is the pick anymore cuz they are talking about still developing the young lineman we have

Fantastic interview. Thanks man. Looks like a great pick up for the Boys.

Jerry and Co. needs to keep cutting players and change the culture with players like this cat.
Let's go.

Cowboys have interest in Jarrett Bush

IRVING, Texas – Having already hauled in seven free agents, the Cowboys might not be done shopping.

The Cowboys have interest in Green Bay cornerback Jarrett Bush and are attempting to set up a visit.

So far in free agency the Cowboys have proven to be good closers. The Cowboys have signed seven of their eight free-agent visitors. The only player not to sign was tight end Kellen Davis, who returned to Chicago on a two-year deal.

Bush, 27, is considered a top special teamer and led Green Bay with 12 tackles. Defensively the Packers’ coaches credited him with 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and eight pass breakups. He started two games for the Packers in 2011.

So far in free agency the Cowboys have taken care of the defense with cornerback Brandon Carr, safety Brodney Pool and linebacker Dan Connor and the offense with guards Mackenzy Bernadeau and Nate Livings, fullback Lawrence Vickers and quarterback Kyle Orton.

Bush (6-0, 194 pounds) would help the special teams as well as the sub packages defensively. He can play cornerback or safety.

Could Erik Walden return to the Cowboys?

No visits have been scheduled, but there is mutual interest between the Dallas Cowboys and outside linebacker Erik Walden.

Walden, a sixth-round pick in 2008 by the Cowboys, never made the roster, but he's played for three teams since, including the last two seasons with the Green Bay Packers.

David Rich, Walden's agent, said a few teams have expressed interest.

Last season, Walden had a career-high 41 solo tackles and picked up three sacks, two forced fumbles and knocked down three passes. He started 15 games.

If the Cowboys sign Walden, it would add to the pass rush that struggled at times if DeMarcus Ware or Jay Ratliff was shut down by double-teams.

The Packers also want to bring Walden back.

Walden had an ugly incident last November when he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Walden spent Thanksgiving weekend in jail. Last month, Walden reached a deferred judgment agreement to resolve the case without pleading guilty.

Walden agreed to perform 50 hours of community service and undergo counseling.

if anything with us getting all these free agents it shows we have been pretty shitty at drafting these past few seasons

already 7 free agents and these niggas could make it 9

I applaud the team for realizing the team lacked talent but damn

We havent even had the draft yet and this team could have 9 new players before we get the rookies in here :dance::lol:

Yep, and I hope someone checks Jerry on this. The 2009 draft should have replaced all of these FA pickups.

Bush should be a nice pickup. Walden I'm good on. Teams don't let pass rushers walk unless they have to pay them crazy money.

Green Bay needed pass rushers like crazy because the caveman looking dude had a bad year and didnt have help on the other side.
Walden should have been that dude and he didn't produce.

Draft.

Shitty drafting has us in this position but like I said at least we are starting to address it

I'm with you on the Walden thing fuck that

This is a guy WE DRAFTED, couldnt make our team and started on the other side of Clay Matthews and only had 3 sacks

He is worse than Anthony Spencer and honeslty how much better is he than Victor Butler if at all?

Draft the pass rush

Bush will take over that Alan Ball role and im cool with that fasho

Barron needs to be drafted if hes on tha board @ 14 cause I don't trust Sensabaugh at all back there.

But if this motherfucka was entering tha draft this year.
Just crushing ankles left and right and he accelerates after he stops like he got a rocket on his back.I would hate to have him running at me in tha open field.

I hear yall on the pressure part, but let me remind you that we only have 3 cornerbacks on the roster in a division of pass happy teams.

With that being said, get the best DB available at the first pick.

Remember, a DB can run back punts so Dez can only focus on routes.

This draft is a defensive line/WR deep draft. Treat it as such.
