I'm talking shit but GSP is going to try and probably succeed in wrestlefucking the shit out of Diaz![]()
the biggest thing diaz can bring in that fight is his confidence he is fearless in there....gsp has the best wrestling in the sport such a toss up....i'm leaning towards gsp...

nah i think gsp easily beats dude
he's simply too strong for him and he wont fight him toe to toe like bj did

the thing is diaz has bb bjj if gsp takes him down he actually even more dangerous....nobody finishes diaz...
And his stand up is elite in the sport with those body shots breaking you down....it won't be easy...
For gsp this isn't like alves, koscheck or finch....diaz has excellent bjj & can scramble to his feet quickly....
And his biggest weapon is his confidence...he is always comfortable no matter if he is losing or winning...
You missed one of if not the best fight this year..that's what happened. sopcast is probably gonna back to back it. If you want to know where you can watch it online tomorrow morn, I can pm you
man remember this thread
gsp is going to easily beat dude by wrestling and the fight will be incredibly boring

True ... GSP doesn't mess around in there.
He works that takedown and wrestling constantly ... mixed in with some Superman punches when his confidence is alright. He's one careful Canadian trying to "build my legacy". Ever since getting caught by Matt Serra in 2006 / 2007 he's been very methodical. He hasn't ever really been in trouble in there ... dating back to 2006/2007. Just wish he could stop guys like he did Hughes at UFC 79 and Serra at UFC 83. Those were impressive quicker clinics.
Shit ain't funny, man. BJ Penn is a fucking prodigy for real. At least he WAS...before his UFC days. Sad to see him get beaten so badly that he retires as a result. But everybody has someone who has their number. Shit, you see Cro Cop couldn't do shit with Roy Nelson tonight.Beat that ass so bad that niggah retired immediately

Very true. The blueprint to beat Nick is to get the takedown and defend the submissions/sweeps for points.Pretty much the same way GSP fought BJ.It will be unbelievably boring, but GSP has to be the favorite with this strategy.Nick has better striking than BJ,but his takedown defense is not as good.ON his back,Nick is more dangerous though.I see GSP getting the takedowns and being extreemly cautious and doing just enough to not get stood back up.
I must say, for a stacked card, it was a dud.
The only highlights were Diaz and Cerrone.
I REALLY HOPE they don't try and shaft Condit from his title shot. I make Condit a favorite against either Diaz or GSP. Though I'd rather see Diaz vs. Condit. They are fighters who are athletes, not the other way around.
Those were two guys on the down side of their careers or certainly not getting any better and GSP was coming into his own. He knows in his heart if he makes a mistake one of these young hungry dudes will knock him the fuck out. So he stays gameplanned up and very precise with safety first. The fans will turn on him soon..maybe not Canada, but even if Diaz is hardcore, you are not a fan of the sport if you don't like to watch him fight.
GSP vs. Silva is the Holy Grail of MMA future fights.GSP needs a finish like Obama needs to make a move on this economy if he wants to get reelected. If he lays and prays on Diaz they will demand he fight Silva then that will really be his ass.

I totally agree, I thought this PPV would have knockouts and everything. The only good fight on this card was the main event, everything else was so-so.

dude is amazing to watch in any combat sport...he is worth $55 PPV
I think you almost have it right...What GSP will most likely do is do just enough to score points and get up or let the ref stand them up...just to take him down again..score pussy shots...rinse, wash, repeat..decision victory. He won't want to stay on the ground too long. It is different because this time he will be for certain that he can't finish his opponent. Diaz does have one advantage that the others didn't have..the height and reach. He could throw from long distance, avoid the shot and cruise like GSP plans to do.
That's why I was upset to see the UFC buy Strikeforce. Diaz is in for a bunch of Greg Jackson gameplan bullshit for the next few years. It's hard to get that kind of bonus money outside of the UFC so dudes do whatever they can to stay employed even if it means sucking the excitement out of the fight game.
