iPhone 4s: Over One Million Pre-Orders in 24 hours

iPhone 4S Launch to Double AT&T's Record for Activations in One Day
from MacRumors : Mac News and Rumors by Jordan Golson
Following Sprint's announcement of record sales, AT&T announced a very busy sales day. AT&T didn't break out sales totals for the iPhone, but reports it is seeing record activations.

As of 4:30 pm ET today, AT&T had already activated a record number of iPhones on our network – and is on-track to double our previous record for activations on a single day. These record volumes may produce slower activations for some customers, though our systems continue to run at record levels.
AT&T was Apple's launch partner in 2007, and the exclusive partner until Apple launched the Verizon iPhone earlier this year.

AT&T hit the record despite their activation servers having difficulties handling the unprecedented demand.

iPhone 4S Launch Breaks Sprint's One Day Sales Record
from MacRumors : Mac News and Rumors by Jordan Golson
The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S broke the "device family" one-day sales record today, according to the company. The milestone was breached by 1pm Eastern.

Sprint didn't break out sales totals for the iPhone, but Sprint's product chief said today was the company's "best ever day of sales in retail, web and telesales for a device family in Sprint history." Sprint attributes the strong sales to their "truly unlimited" data plan.

Sprint is the only U.S. carrier to offer unlimited data to new customers. Earlier today Moody's downgraded Sprint's credit rating "citing impacts on the wireless carrier's liquidity and leverage from its decision to invest in its own fourth-generation network assets and the expected phase-out of its failed partnership with Clearwire Corp." according to the WSJ.

This is first time that Sprint has carried the iPhone line. The iPhone was originally an AT&T exclusive in the U.S. and only expanded to Verizon earlier in 2010. Sprint is now one of three mobile carriers to offer the iPhone in the U.S.

How to update your Twitter status from Siri on the iPhone 4S
from TiPb: The #1 iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch blog by Andrew Wray

As if it weren’t already futuristic enough, Siri, the new and arguably most revolutionary feature packed inside the iPhone 4S, can be used to update your Twitter status!

It’s simple: Navigate to Twitter from Mobile Safari, jump into the mobile settings panel and make sure you have your mobile phone number setup with the service. Twitter will then spit out a number for you to text message Twitter updates to. For confirmation’s sake, send a quick status update to the number to make sure the text is pushed to your Twitter timeline.

Now, just save the number you sent your Twitter update to as a new contact called “Twitter”. That’s it! From there, you can pull out your iPhone 4S and tell Siri to send a message to Twitter saying “I love my new iPhone 4S!”.

Pretty neat, huh?

This is just crazy shit. :smh:

They said the Lenox Mall Atlanta Apple store has like 300 folks in line this morning.

It is funny how we bashed this phone after the announcement, and the shit is selling like crack in the 80's

So far, I like iOS5 on the iPhone4 especially the notifications, and iMessage is a FUCKING BLESSING!!!

Diane Sawyer said apple stands to make 1.3 billion dollars in sales this weekend more than all the harry potter movies combined

Some analysts are reporting that Apple may sell 2mil+ phones this weekend!

 Siri is a smart ass..

This phone is nice, coming from a 3GS owner.

I know Apple is going to fuck me over when a redesigned iPhone 5/6 drops in June though

:dunno:

how much you get for your 3gs??? I got 210 bucks or so after ebay fees which is damn good for a phone that old

 You got that much? Man, I didn't even bother selling mine after I saw Apple gives you a free 3GS with a new contract...

i still have people responding to the craigslist add i posted as of this morning.

the final selling price on ebay was 242.50. it was jailbroke and unlocked but i have seen ones all beat up with cracked screens fetch 170ish on ebay. there is still a demand for them.

Good look fam, I'm about to hawk this one.. Got a small crack on the screen otherwise it's still good.

How much apple stock should one buy that can net a good return? I got 2g'z to spare

I think a lot of the sales are due to Sprint and Verizon being included in the totals this time.

Very few people I know who already have the 4 are getting the 4s. That's why I think if Apple would have changed the case slightly it would have helped numbers, because the sheep would want to fit in.

I thought about it, but it's hard to go from a 4.3 phone to 3.5. It's like having a 52 inch TV in your den and going down to a 32.

How much can u make after a year with 5 shares???

You could make more money buying some scratch off lottery tickets.

The goal is to buy low.

It'll get a boost when 3rd quarter numbers are in and when the iPad 3 is announced.
