I don't feel any type of way at all. My mind and body will not let it sink in that he is gone. I have to really meditate and accept this. That let's me know that he was that important. The track I loved the most by him:

Heavy's confidence, intelligence, and talent was inspirational. Dude was an exceptional artist from an era that will be missed. I believe that he got sick while overseas. He'd just done a Tim Westwood show, which was a fantastic interview:

The disturbing thing is that you can take any of these modern rappers/entertainers and they're not even half as articulate, industry savvy, or full of perspective as this legend.

FUCK.

R.I.P. Man.

This interview was good as a mofo. He was getting his productin game ON!

That T.R.O.Y. being played at the 2:43 mark was more telling than anybody in the studio could ever imagine.:smh:
R.I.P. Heavy, One Love!!!!!
Dude, where in the hell did you get that GIF in your sig from?:lol:
like I always said - ain't no fat old people...at least, none that I know.
:eek:My body just told me that this morning. Crazy.

This is one of my favorite Heavy D tracks.

If you listen carefully he says ".... place of rest after death, heaven."

He's most definately he's up there with the other angels.

God sent him here on a misson and took him back from us. :(

R.I.P. Heavy, I remember a backyard party around 1983-1984 Hev came to MC along with eddie-f who was spinning who was my neighbor in Mt. Vernon, Al-b, Pete Rock, and Puffy, showed up, most B-Boys and B-Girls rode in on BMX bikes to the party I was there to loan eddie-f some amps and sound equipment, when these guys did there thing people of all ages enjoyed there vibe, mamas, grandpas, kids young and old were all dancing together and all enjoyed the heavster and the boyz, they made such a impression on my parents at the time as to their professionalisim at there age, and Heavy had so much charisma on the mic. I remember talking to them one snowy night on a street-corner, edddie-f had a brown box with an 808 and they were heading to his studio to make some beats I was a DJ at the time but my crowd was older as I was, and they wanted to do some parties along with me, but I passed on it cause i wanted to settle down and have some babies and stay at home weekends. The next time i saw them was on a 12" record cover in a bar in Hollis Queens, Run-D-MC's stomping grounds "Mr Big Stuff" being spun by Jam master Jay also R.I.P. I was so proud to know them, It was the most innovative produced record of the time and still is a party hit to me. I think we used to do the "wop" to it, but I still remember to this day my moms asking me "why don't you get that record from Heavy Boy and the boyz from the heights" :scared::scared:

Oh Shit
That track gives me the chills everytime I hear it. Props to Sigel for painting a vivid picture, but that track pulls you in and doesn't let you go until it ends. Heavy is gone, but a body of work like that will make him immortal.

With God's grace, a little bit of luck, and a lot of determination, I won't leave this earth for a very, very, very, very, very long time. But, when I do, I hope that I can leave a positive impact that is only a portion of the impact left by Heavy D. If I can do that then I will know I lived a good life.

Notable people die somewhat often. Rarely do we truly mourn someone we never knew. This one is different, this really has a lot of people hurt.

It's fucked up that we never know how special people are until they are gone.

If you've been listening to New York radio the past couple of weeks, you are not experiencing déjà vu. They're playing two new songs with the same beat — Beanie Sigel's "Feel It in the Air" and Black Rob's "Live From the Eastside." Believe it or not, it's not a case of one biting the other, but rather a serious case of miscommunication between producer Heavy D and the two rappers. "You know what? That's never happened to me in my life," Black Rob said last week at New York's Daddy's House studio. Rob's record came out about a month ago via the mixtape The Return of Black Rob. Sigel's song surfaced a couple of weeks ago. "Heavy D exclusively came here to give me that beat," Rob said. "With him coming over here exclusively to put that in my hands, I felt it's [just for] me. Heav's a family member, he's part of the Bad Boy Family. At the end of the day you gotta eat. I don't blame him. I got other joints that will blast off. That was just a hot joint, man. Good luck to Beans with that." Though Rob says he's not upset with the Heavster, he will admit to being disappointed because he'd wanted to use "Live From the Eastside" on his February 15 release, The Rob Report. "Heav was trying to send me another beat to substitute for that one, but it ain't working. I don't feel that same feel. That [beat] put me right in the heart of Uptown at Sugar Shack Lounge [with] the grimiest of n---as, the get-money n---as. That's where I needed to be."

Somebody got wise & called the combined blend a remix.

After all that, never knew (or looked into that) Heav did it.
Love how he used the sample in the 1st one released & how Rob handled it.

Its obvious BiG Heav's production credits go deep & long like his respect, career, accolades, $ & impact.
BlessUp as your impact is felt throughout your influences.

Good drop on the ?uestlove testimonial blog joint, Drizzy

Y'all don't get it. Racist/white supremacist festivities like HALLOWEEN are much more important than any African American pioneers of HipHop. This is BGOL, the so called BLACK BOARD/FORUM!:smh::angry:

^^^^^

It seems that way.

Mods, stop bitching and put this one back on sticky....
