Before I got the whole house standby generator I bought two Generac iQ3500s. In parallel the 7000 watts was more than enough to keep the lights/appliances/everything running in a 3000 sq ft house through several blackouts. Now I use one to tailgate almost every football weekend and rent the other to friends for $50/weekend, $100/week. Just that little hustle has already more than paid back my costs for everything!
