Lemme chime in to give my $.02
HNIC, ive spoke with you before and some on here know I run a big site myself. So speaking from experience homie, this wont work.
First thing is this, you say you will let users browse the site for free for 2 months before thier account will be required to pay to continue correct? Well from what I can see, you cant even stop users from registering mutliple accounts as it is now. You have users on the board that use like 5 or more different alias right now so how would you be able to stop users from registering a new name once their 2 month free trial period is over to get another free 2 months? You feel me.
Next thing is this, I hate ads myself but I have to do what I have to do to pay bills. I have a homie who owns a server company and he actually host my site for me. Now BGOL probally gets like 28000 uniques per day while im at about 20000 so not that much or a difference ( but not exact on BGOL's number ), I only pay 250 a month for my server and I run 4 sites, 2 forums, and 1 community ( like myspace ) on my server. Aagain, I dont know what you make nor do I care but I can say if you paying over $400-$500 a month then somethin wrong famo. I can get you on a cluster server ( 1 server for your files and 1 server for your database ) which will hit you for like $400 a month.
1 last suggestion is to keep tha site as is but just add more ads. I mean do all them shits from pop under's to pop ups. Do full page ads ( those pay a grip ) to inline ads. Then ad an option where a user can donate that same $10 a year to rid of ads for a year. For cats like myself who run ad blockers, any amount of ads you run wont affect me because I dont see them anyway, you feel me.
I have an option on my site to remove ads and a timer page and it works out pretty good, I have like 80000 registered members but that doesnt mean all 80000 vist the site daily so i know what you mean by active users but with the amount of ads I run, i hit into the triple digits every month from revenue and thats just for one site alone.
* on a side note: I sent you a PM a while back stating that I can prevent mutliple registrations and and auto ban anyone with multiple accounts but you never got back at me which made me think that you really aint trippin on tha tranny attacks here and there but again, its ur site homie so I wish you all tha best mayne *
oet you might not believe this but I truly get your point, you are a guy that fully understands the internet and you don't see the value in BGOL. You can get the same thing BGOL has to offer anywhere else. We'll lose you, that's just the way it is. I knew from the beginning that we would lose a lot of members. I wish you well. I'm not 100% sure this will work to be honest with you. We'll see
