I don't mean soak, but I don't let the chicken sit until it gets slimy. A quick dunk, rinse with fresh water, and dry on paper towels. Then depending on if I'm grilling, frying or Air frying marinade or batter. I rinse Steak, pork, and lamb the same way. None of them end up with a vinegar flavor. It's more about cross-contamination and your cooking environment. All of my stations are kept separate and all my meat cutting boards get bleach. I use the wood board for veggies/bread/etc onlyProper cooking time and temperature handles it all..... cold water id just to rinse it off.... and I don't like vinegar flavored chicken.... that's fork pork and goat
