WARNING to anyone that wants to replay Quantum Break!!!

"Just completed the game after getting nearly every collectible on normal, and after you beat the last stage, it returns you to the main menu. DO NOT HIT NEW GAME! It provides you no warning prompt the first time and it erases all your progress! I have to recollect every collectible again to get the achievement to trigger now.

Of course when I hit new game a second time it prompts the error message. Unbelievably frustrating"

Hopefully.... they will fix this by the time that I finish. Good looking though.. cause I'm on Act 3 and just got the Time Rush power.

I also like that you always have to be mindful of your bullets.

Yeah I put hours in to The Division, then went right into QB. I wish QB came out before The Division.

Yeah... that's why you are having problems. You can't stay in cover for long especially when you meet some of the tougher guys that shoot rockets.

Ok I'll repeat... This tv show within Quantom Break is better then 80% of the shows on cable. This shit is like 24 lite. Episode 3 was crunk.

Alan Wake DLC episodes are free on Xbox
Replay the complete game on Xbox One

AlanWake_screen_9.0.0.jpg

The expansion packs for Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake are now available for free on the Xbox Marketplace. Newcomers to the mystery adventure game, which recently became backward compatible with Xbox One, can pick up both "The Writer" and "The Signal" at no charge.

When "The Signal" first launched in July 2010, it was available to owners of new copies of the game for free; for everyone else, it cost $20. "The Writer," which followed that October, cost $6.99 upon first release. Both are additional episodes building upon the story of Alan Wake.

Alan Wake is available to download on Xbox Marketplace for $19.99. Recent buyers of Remedy's latest game Quantum Break, which launched on Xbox One and Windows PC this week, already have the complete Alan Wake experience. Copies of Quantum Break on Xbox One come with download codes for Alan Wake as well as the expansions. Those who pre-ordered the game also received Alan Wake's American Nightmare.

Noticed they've only released 3 of the Gears so far based on the box cover art. Wonder if the campaign will be 4 player co-op like Gears 3.

nah im sure this new reveal will probably be about the"eSports" features theyre incorporating into the game

Just beat it on hard.... i hope this shit sells because they left all kinds of shit for a sequel. This was a big success in experimental gameplay for Microsoft. You really have to take your time and be sure to read the emails and notes to see the important ones... Especially read Beth's journal. That shit will blow your fucking mind. I give the game a 8 out of 10. Only lowered the score because it is buggy.

Oh and there is a fucking screen play in this game that I spent 20 minutes reading.

is it that short?

It's all I have played since it came out. It came out Tuesday and it took me about 10 hours to beat. That's about average for a third person shooter. Hell it took me on 6 hours to beat Call of Duty. There are about 5 acts... Each act takes about 1 hour and a half but I spent a lot of time hunting collectibles. I'm still only at 90% percent completion. I haven't started a second play through because I'm fucking nervous about the glitch that Gemini posted.

Titanfall 2 Teaser Trailer

This son of a bitch better have a fucking single player campaign. It doesn't make any sense for you to have the power to remote control your mech in titanfall 1. I ended up only playing 2 to 3 hours of this game.

Respawn said that it will..question is will it be one that they actually put some thought into,or just a tacked-on"offline training mode with A.I/bots" afterthought

Man it's going to be some tacked on bullshit like that crap in Star Wars battlefront. I'll never forgive EA for that 1/3 of a game.

Yup and just like Battlefield Hardline, most reviews for Titanfall 2 will be saying for players to skip the campaign altogether..

at the very least they couldve done the first game like The Division..make it PvE and have specialized areas for players to fight each other

Quantum Break status update

The entire development team at Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft Studios want to thank all our fans for the success that Quantum Break has experienced since it launched last week on April 5. We have spent the last four years working on Quantum Break – the ultimate Remedy Entertainment game as we call it – and to see how warmly it has been received by gamers worldwide has been exhilarating and incredibly rewarding.

We are aware that some players are facing issues with the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break and some extent on Xbox One. We want to let you know that we are working diligently with Microsoft Studios on addressing all the feedback; below are the things we know about today that are being worked on.

We want to thank our fans again for all their continued support for Remedy and apologize for any problems you have faced playing Quantum Break. We are paying close attention to forums and the discussion online about Quantum Break and are doing our best to solve the issues you are experiencing.

Windows 10 Issues & Solutions

Stuttering Frame-Rate / Frame Pacing
There was a major rounding error introduced into our refresh rate predictions on shipping. A solution to this issue is already being worked on; we expect it to be resolved in a Quantum Break Title Update launching in the near future.

Windows 10 Performance Issues
Remedy is looking into how to improve the overall performance of the game. Part of that is working closely with AMD and NVIDIA to address issues and improve the gameplay experience.

Sometimes, after a longer play session, the game can end up to a state where the video memory becomes fragmented, and an important asset gets moved to system memory, which slows the rendering performance significantly. This problem is very rare and Remedy will continue to investigate and improve the video memory behavior in future updates.

If you experience this issue, exiting and restarting Quantum Break will resolve this issue for now. This is one way to identify if you have encountered this issue or if it’s another potential problem.

Graphics Drivers:
We recommend, for AMD Radeon GPU’s, AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.1

We recommend, for NVIDIA GPU’s, 362.00 from NVIDIA.

Keep in mind, these drivers might have an impact on other software on your computer.

Windows 10 Frame Rate Locked?
In May, Microsoft will be enabling the ability for developers to disable v-sync and adding support for G-Sync and Freesync monitors. This means that UWP games running in full screen, borderless windowed mode will have all of the performance advantages of traditional full screen exclusive mode.

No Option to Quit from Main Menu
We hear you! By popular demand, we are adding an exit option to the main menu in an upcoming title update. For now, similar to all Windows 10 apps, you will need to use Alt-F4 or move the mouse cursor to top right corner of the window to the see the X icon, which you can click to exit the game.

Crashing on Launch
We have been able to repro at least one reason for a rare crash on launch– with some SIMD instructions that require SSE4.1. We are working on fixing that in a future title update, and will fix any other issues we find as they are reported.

Image Quality
We are working on giving users more control to turn on and off features like film grain. We love the artistic choice for our game, but we also want to give PC gamers more choice and this will come in a future update.

Does Quantum Break support SLI or other multi-GPU solutions?
Quantum Break on Windows 10 unfortunately doesn’t support DirectX12 multi-GPU rendering. Due to the engine architecture, the work needed to support multiple GPUs would have been significant and out of scope for Remedy for Quantum Break.

Render technique and resolution on Windows 10
The Windows 10 version of Quantum Break uses the same reconstruction method as on Xbox One. If your resolution is set to 1080p, the game temporally reconstructs the image (except UI) from four 720p buffers rendered with 4xMSAA, just like on Xbox One. Engine assigns input geometry samples from 4xMSAA rendering into shaded clusters in order to maximize covered geometry while keeping the performance on acceptable level by reducing expensive shaded samples. When you change the resolution, the buffers used to construct the image are always 2/3rds of the set resolution, i.e. in 2560x1440 they would be 1706x960.

Download Issues
We are aware some users are having issues downloading the game from the Windows Store. There are some known bugs with the way the progress bar is rendered. Microsoft is standing by to help anyone who has issues downloading and the Windows 10 Anniversary Update this summer will massively improve the overall experience for these kinds of big games.

General Issues & Solutions (Xbox One and Windows 10)

Light Flare / Blinking Lights
This is a known issue. A permanent fix is being introduced in the next Title Update in the near future. For now, the problem can be resolved by exiting and re-launching the game.

Film Grain
This is an artistic choice from Remedy Entertainment. We wanted a cinematic look for our game and “film grain” is part of that look. Depending on the brand of TV you use or if your Xbox One is connected to a monitor, the film grain can look very different. Always use “Game Mode” on your television if such a feature exists. Make sure you adjust your sharpness setting down on your monitor or TV as well as the brightness setting in Quantum Break.”

Ambient Subtitles
While atmosphere is an important part of Quantum Break, we decided to not include subtitles for ambient sound (e.g.– in-game radio broadcasts) to ensure those subtitles did not conflict or overlap with the subtitles for actual character dialogue.

No Dialogue on Xbox One
If your game is missing dialogue, this is probably because you are listening in stereo, but the Xbox One is set to play back surround 5.1 or 7.1.

To solve this on Xbox One:
  • Scroll left from Home to open the guide
  • Select Settings
  • Select All Settings
  • Select Display & Sound
  • Select Audio output
  • Set the output to Stereo
Cloud Save Issue on Windows 10 and Xbox One
Cloud save issues with the Windows 10 version of Quantum Break have been resolved with the March update (Windows 10 Version 10586.164, 64-bit only). To avoid any issues, please switch Microsoft accounts before signing in to the Xbox app and/or check Windows Update to ensure that you are using the latest version of Windows 10.

We are aware of this issue on Xbox One and are working to address it in a future update. To avoid any issues, please quit the game before turning off your console.

Gears of War 4 Multiplayer Gameplay - Lancer Gameplay! (Xbox One Gears 4 Beta)

Gears of War 4 Gameplay Changes: 6 Ways Gears 4 Multiplayer Feels Fresh

Gears 4 DLC maps will be free, rotating in an out of operation

Gears of War 4 will offer free DLC maps, with new maps rotating in and out of operation to keep things fresh.

New DLC maps will launch each month, rotating into play and knocking others from the playlist. This means all players will have access to whatever maps are currently in use.

However, the downside is that a favourite map of yours may drop out of operation. The Coalition's solution is to offer all maps as paid DLC for use in private matches. In this situation only the host of the game needs to own the map for all others to participate.

Gears of War 4 will ship with 10 maps at launch.

You'll find this nugget of info along with seven others in the video below.

GTA 5's Online Mode Has Generated Half a Billion Dollars - Report
The game's microtransactions are proving to be incredibly popular, apparently.

Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer mode GTA Online is free, but Rockstar offers optional microtransactions for players who want to speed up their progress. It turns out those microtransactions are proving wildly popular, reportedly generating half a billion dollars.

As part of former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies' $150 million lawsuit against Take-Two, it's been revealed that GTA Online has generated "at least" $500 million in revenue from microtransactions.

To put that number into context, Halo 5's microtransactions brought in at least $1.5 million.

"GTA Online has the potential to achieve the greatest profit margin of any game created in the GTA franchise," reads a line from the lawsuit. This is in part because GTA Online's microtransactions have "nearly 100 percent profit margin," except for development costs and fees collected by storefronts.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in November 2015 that more than 8 million people were playing GTA Online every week. He has also described GTA Online as "the gift that keeps on giving" as it relates to the money it makes from microtransactions.

As for the game itself, GTA V has shipped 60 million copies, according to the latest numbers from Take-Two. The lawsuit estimates revenue from the game alone to be in the area of $3 billion.

Single-player DLC for GTA V is still under consideration, but these incredible numbers for GTA Online may explain why Rockstar might not be rushing to get it out the door anytime soon.

Rockstar has kept GTA Online fresh since launch, constantly adding new content including more modes, items, weapons, and cars, among other things. Just today, April 12, Rockstar introduced a new mode called Inch By Inch and the Vapid Minivan.

Did noticed while playing Gears 3 a few months ago that you can hold down RT to shoot automatically.

Quantum Break Becomes the Biggest-Selling New Microsoft Studios IP for Xbox One

When Remedy Entertainment – the legendary creators behind critically acclaimed hits like Max Payne and Alan Wake – approached Microsoft Studios with their vision for Quantum Break, we knew we had something special on our hands. Quantum Break would be a hybrid entertainment experience – one-part hard-hitting video game, one part thrilling live-action show – and embody all the characteristics of a classic Remedy Entertainment game: action-packed gameplay, vivid storytelling, rich characters and dramatic twists. Quantum Break was bold. It was ambitious. It was unprecedented. And we loved it.

Last week, on April 5, 2016, we were proud to announce that Quantum Break had launched worldwide to critical acclaim. Today, we are excited to share that Quantum Break was the #1 best-selling Xbox game around the world last week, and is now officially the biggest-selling new Microsoft Studios published IP this generation. In addition, last week Quantum Break was the #1 most played new game on Xbox, worldwide.

The level of excitement we have seen from our fans around the world for Quantum Break has been humbling. We want to thank the community for their support for helping us achieve this international success.

“Making Quantum Break has been a long journey. Creating a new AAA franchise is always a risk and a huge investment, but at Remedy we want to push ourselves, explore new ideas and realize new visions,” said Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment. “It’s wonderful to see gamers want that too. We’re hugely grateful for the positive reception and glad to see that the story of Jack Joyce and Paul Serene resonates with so many players.”

We take feedback seriously and are aware of the issues that some of our fans playing Quantum Break on Windows 10 are experiencing. We are working diligently with our partners and with Remedy Entertainment to resolve them. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

At Microsoft Studios, we firmly believe in creating new IP. Empowering creators to tell new stories, develop new gameplay experiences and to continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, is key to our vision for the success of Xbox One and Windows 10, and Remedy Entertainment and Quantum Break is just the start.

ReCore, Scalebound and Sea of Thieves are just a few of the new IP we have announced, and combined with other blockbuster exclusives, including Gears of War 4, Crackdown 3, Halo Wars 2 and Forza Motorsport: Apex, we have created a stellar lineup that will help us fulfill our promise to fans to make Xbox One and Windows 10 the best place to play games.

Gears of War 4 Beta Early Access Key Distribution

Hello Gears Fam!

The Gears of War 4 Beta is on the horizon and I wanted to give a quick rundown on how code distribution will be occurring starting on April 18th. As you guys know, this is a real beta and not a marketing beta for us. We need to test backend, gameplay and more within this beta. Due to this, we are planning on releasing early access codes out in waves to ensure we can have a stable backend for players during the early access period.

We plan on sending out codes to users who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in chronological order from the date they first played. For example, if you played on the first day the game launched, you will most likely receive your code on the 18th. Players that jumped in toward the tail end of the deadline (April 11th) will probably fall toward the end of the distribution. Codes will arrive via Xbox Live Messages.

Code waves will increase in size after the first day and stay consistent for each day after that. Our goal is to have all codes out to users by the end of day Thursday.

There will be beta rewards in the Gears of War 4 beta for participating. You will be reading more about that before this weekend. The beta rewards will not be tied to any specific dates so that everyone can earn the rewards before launch. We will also have an FAQ up during the beta that will answer a plenitude of questions.

Lastly, we are planning on doing a livestream on Friday April 15th where we will be playing the beta with some special guests. We will also be giving away tons of keys during the stream and winners can start playing the beta THREE DAYS EARLY starting on April 15th at 3pm PT! You will also have additional opportunities to win keys throughout that weekend. We will have more information to share on the stream shortly so stay tuned!

We are looking forward to you all jumping into the Gears of War 4 Beta and we value the feedback during this period. Please make sure to sign-up for our new Gears Feedback Program to help us make a better Gears! https://gearsofwar.com/en-us/gears-feedback-program

Techradar: Leaked Red Dead sequel map is real, takes place before Redemption

Red-Dead-sequel-map-leak-x.jpg

This is the map you'll be playing in Red Dead Redemption 2

The map for Rockstar's upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 has leaked online, and been confirmed by our own independent source.

The map was posted to NeoGAF by someone claiming to have received it from a source, before hastily pulling it down. But this being the internet, the map had already been immortalised, although many commenters questioned its legitimacy.

A source close to the development of the new Red Dead game has now confirmed to us that the map is indeed the real deal, revealing that this is a "very recent" art direction map for the upcoming title.

They also confirmed that the game will be set before the events of Redemption, and that the new map is just east of the one that featured in Red Dead Redemption.

If you look at the bottom left you'll see the Great Plains, home to the Blackwater settlement that sits at the top right of the Red Dead Redemption map - so you can see how the two come together. The lack of a railroad in the Great Plains, which featured in RDR, also points to this being earlier in the timeline.

While we've referred to the upcoming game as Red Dead Redemption 2, the name is currently unknown - so start your guesses. Red Dead Retribution sounds good to us.

Rockstar did not respond to our request for comment on this story.
