Xbox One Console Reviews

Activision has announced new details on the last gen versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Activision confirmed the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game was in development back in June by Beenox and Mercenary Technology.

The last gen version of Black Ops 3 will only include access to the multiplayer and zombies modes of the game. Activision originally announced that the last-gen versions will feature a 2 player campaign, but today, they’ve announced that the campaign mode will not be included at all.
The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.
With this being said, Activision has stated that players on Xbox 360 and PS3 will have access to the multiplayer and zombies mode.
Delivering the best possible gameplay experience on all platforms is always our highest priority. With that in mind, Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 players can continue to look forward to a new experience of Black Ops 3 multiplayer, including the new momentum-based, chain-movement system, as well as the all-new Specialist class of 9 Black Ops soldiers, which fundamentally change the way players engage in combat.

Black Ops 3 players on PS3 and Xbox 360 will also have a chance to immerse themselves in the all-new Zombies mode, called “Shadows of Evil,” which features a 1940’s film-noir inspired adventure that takes the signature Black Ops Zombies gameplay to a new level.
In addition, Activision has stated that all eSports features and the weapon paint shop will not be available on last gen.
Fans should note that other features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Because of these feature differences, Activision will sell the last-gen versions for a retail price of $49.99, and it will include a download code for Call of Duty: Black Ops 1.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be available for a suggested retail price of $49.99 and include a bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops (bonus download availability may vary by region), the game that launched this series.
With all of these differences, the last-gen versions of the game has a different box art. The box art states that in order to play Black Ops 3 on last-gen, an internet connection is required.

It's going to be hard to get in now.

Microsoft announced that it will be limiting access to its Xbox One preview program because it can no longer handle the amount of applications. The program is an early access service exclusively available through an invitation process.

According to IGN, the company announced the change in its official forum through a post which has now been taken down for unknown reasons.

“Due to a tremendous response from our fans, the Xbox Preview program has reached a near-capacity level. With that in mind, we are slowing the number of new people we are accepting to optimize for testing,” a representative from Microsoft wrote in the now-deleted post. “We are thankful for the amount of interest we’ve received to date and look forward to sharing more details on preview opportunities soon.” PCmag reached out to the company, which didn’t immediately respond.

Man fuck that rainbow 6 beta i kept trying to sign up for it and it kept saying that i was giving invalid email addresses. I even put in my real, PERSONAL email address and it said THAT was invalid as well.

Ooohhhhh on another note at game stop you get the new controllers for like $30 if you trade in your old one. Mine is kinda acting screwy so I'll probably go get one of the newer ones today.

Anyone playing rainbow 6? its dope once you get teamates who communicate

I hate fuckers that don't mic up on team games. If we're playing against each other in fifa, you don't have to talk to me...but GTA heists or this R6 shit...we need to be a team, we need to communicate.

The guys with shields are unstoppable lol. This dude blew up a wall that me and two other guys were hiding behind. Killed my two boys and shot me in the legs, then punched me in the face to end the round.

We unleashed bullets on him from three sides. That shield blocked every bullet.

Dudes are already nice in this game.

Wish it had a single player campaign like the other Rainbow games.

If you've been eyeing the Halo 5: Guardians Edition or Lunar White (above) Xbox One wireless controllers and you have some extra cash lying around - they could be yours. For a limited time GameStop will be handing out $35 in credit towards those Xbox One controllers for anyone that has a DualShock 4 or Xbox One controller that they are willing to trade in.

Gamestop-Xbox-One-670x137.png

This is where the extra cash comes in. The remaining balance on one of these new controllers would be $30 after the credit is applied. That's pretty cheap for a brand spankin' new controller, a limited edition controller at that!
Just look at these controllers!

Wish it had a single player campaign like the other Rainbow games.

I know they limit you to playing multiplayer for the beta...was hoping the official game would have a campaign tho...I bought titanfall and don't even play it...might pass on this if it's the same deal

Rainbow Six: Siege won't have "a story mode per se," an Ubisoft developer said at an EGX 2015 panel, meaning this franchise joins the trend of heavy hitting shooters eschewing a singleplayer campaign.

Scott Mitchell, the game's art director, said that players will have a training session "where you get to experience different operators and their devices," and that players may face off against enemy AI fighters "in co-op through all the maps.

"You can customize matches, so that's what we're offering on the single-player side of things," he said. This doesn't mean it has no singleplayer capability — there are maps against AI opponents — but it doesn't sound like any kind of traditional, mission- or chapter-based progression through a narrative is in store for the game. It sounds like a training area.

In fact, Mitchell used those words.

"It's a pretty good training ground," Mitchell added of the game's singleplayer offerings, "and on top of that you're unlocking the same content as you would playing in PvP."

Nonetheless, the abandonment of a singleplayer campaign signals a growing trend in big-name console shooters. Star Wars: Battlefront will have no singleplayer campaign. Evolve had no campaign. Titanfall had no campaign, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will have no campaign on its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Rainbow Six: Siege is due for a Dec. 1 launch on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Its multiplayer beta kicked off two days ago. At E3 2014, Ubisoft's Montreal developers were mum about singleplayer campaign plans, saying "we are focusing on multiplayer now." The game was originally announced for an Oct. 13 launch date and then delayed in order to improve "the co-op experience" it will offer.
