Xbox One Console Reviews

We’re updating a few things on Xbox One that I wanted to share with you.
Later today everyone on Xbox One and the Xbox App on Windows 10 will have access to 12-person Party Chat. Garnering over 2200 votes on Xbox Feedback, we are expanding party chat to include 12 people. This feature is being enabled for all of our Xbox users – and the Xbox App on Windows 10 as well as those in the New Xbox One Experience Preview. (Note: There will be no visible update for your app or console, it’s all server side.)
If you are in the New Xbox One Experience Preview, you’ll be getting an update later today that adds a few new features:

  • Party text chat adds more communication options. In the New Xbox One Experience, text chat joins voice chat as a way to communicate with your friends. At the bottom of the ‘Your Party’ page, you will see a button to ‘Show text chat.’ This will let you participate in the conversation. Party text chat will also come to the Beta Xbox App for Windows 10.

  • A streamlined Game DVR experience. We have combined the functionality of the Game DVR snap app and the former Upload app into one easy-to-use app called Game DVR. In full screen mode, you can use this app to view your game clips and screenshot captures. When snapped, you can use Game DVR to start or stop recordings.

  • New animated avatars. They are back and better than ever. You showed us that you are passionate about Avatars with many requests on Xbox Feedback. The new avatars will be animated on your profile and will start showing up in other new places in the new experience. If you prefer a gamerpic, you can easily switch your image.

  • Updated menu for quick access to common actions. The menu button on your controller lets you pin an app or game to Home, launch a recently played game, or quit an app or game with just the touch of a button.
  • Access new settings in the Guide. Adding to settings already included in the guide, like adjusting the headset volume, you can now turn your console off or restart your console directly from the Guide.
We hope you enjoy these new features and thanks for all the feedback.

Yo has anybody joined bestbuy's gamer program? How it was explained to me is that you get say xbox or Ps4 games for $48 instead of 60 for a one-time fee of $60 i believe. It doesn't seem like that much of a difference.

They should have customized this and the Tomb Raider bundle. :smh:

Havok to join Microsoft

CQU3KnnWUAEnaDY.png:large

Today, we are proud to announce that Microsoft has acquired Havok, the leading provider of 3D physics, from Intel.

As we welcome Havok to the Microsoft family, we will continue to work with developers to create great gaming experiences, and continue to license Havok’s development tools to partners. We believe that Havok is a fantastic addition to Microsoft’s existing tools and platform components for developers, including DirectX 12, Visual Studio and Microsoft Azure.

Havok is an amazing technology supplier in the games industry and the leading real-time physics creator. We saw an opportunity to acquire Havok to deliver great experiences for our fans. Throughout the company’s history, they’ve partnered with Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and many others to create more than 600 games including Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty, Destiny, Dark Souls and The Elder Scrolls.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Havok continues our tradition of empowering developers by providing them with the tools to unleash their creativity to the world. We will continue to innovate for the benefit of development partners. Part of this innovation will include building the most complete cloud service, which we’ve just started to show through games like “Crackdown 3.”

Havok shares Microsoft’s vision for empowering people to create worlds and experiences that have never been seen before, and we look forward to sharing more of this vision in the near future.

Xbox's Mike Ybarra replied to a tweet regarding button mapping. The user was asking why the Xbox One Elite Controller was the only controller with the ability to map individual buttons to your liking. They also complained about having to pay a premium for the feature.

Mike replied stating that the function will be coming to all controllers soon. I'd assume that this feature will only come to the newer Xbox One controllers, as they have a wireless firmware update feature. However, it might come to all of them. We'll find out soon. Stay tuned to ICXM.net for more Xbox and Microsoft news. Also, our giveaway for Extreme Exorcism is ending soon, so go to our Twitter, @XboxMAD, and check it out!

Yea the preview update shows a button mapping option. I wonder if it will go live in November with the public update.

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Wants To Bring Background Music To Xbox One

According to Phil Spencer, the feature is on the cards but not a priority right now

960-microsoft-corporation-msft-wants-to-bring-background-music-to-xbox-one.JPG

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One has encountered major changes ever since its release in 2013, and has since evolved into a completely different console than the one it came out as. Many more new features are set to be available later this year for the Xbox, such as Backward Compatibility and New Xbox One Experience. One of the most requested additions by fans is the ability to play their favorite music in the background while playing a game or browsing the Xbox Live Store. Many thought the feature would be made a part of the upcoming New Xbox One Experience, but it looks like that is not the case; fans will have to wait a bit longer for the feature to see the light of the day.

This was confirmed by Xbox Boss Phil Spencer, who recently replied to a question on Twitter asking if the company had any news on when the feature would be made available. Mr. Spencer said that the company has the feature in its to-do list but it has a lot of other “important” things to work on right now. He added that it is all about prioritization and background music on the Xbox One is not the company’s “priority” right now.

This matter was brought up a few months before as well, when Mr. Spencer said that the option will not be made available on the Xbox One “until the release of Windows 10 integration.” While the Windows 10 integration has no concrete release date as of now, we can expect it along with background music capability sometime in the future.

As of now, the only way to listen to music while playing a game is to use the Xbox Music app via the snap feature on Xbox One. While it does get the job done, it is not exactly convenient as it takes a while to get the app to open, thanks to the currently sluggish Xbox One Dashboard. It also takes up some space on your screen so it is not exactly the kind of sacrifice most of you would be willing to make. Hopefully, the company will bring a better option to play music with the New Xbox Experience, which is set to release in November this year.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has also quietly renamed its Xbox Music service to “Groove.” Now that is a nice name to catch on to.

yo i got the new xbox one dashboard an i have to say it looks pretty damn nice.i mean its gonna take me a day or two to really get the hang of it but its a nice start.any one else have it on the console yet?i was bugging for a min because when you try to go to the store it moves over to another page but i didnt realize that other page was the store because it wouldnt highlight the store.i dont know just rambling.its a good start xbox plus i cant wait for the background music,i miss that from the 360.

I'm pending to get out of it. And of course when I do that they fix the wifi + external drive issue that crippled me to begin with. With an external plugged in it may tell you your adapter is broken and send the system in for repairs but once you unplug it and the system for ten minutes and plug only the power back, it worked. Got tired of that shit.

Unless he asks Microsoft for help this game ain't coming out. Shit the original was almost 70 million to make. Fucking with people's emotions who probably don't even remember what the game was like to begin with. An urban legend at this point.

I was on the fence about whether or not to opt in for the new dashboard early. I had my box bricked last year after taking an update so I'm a lil gun shy about going this route.
