Official Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Teaser

Official Black Ops 3 Reveal Trailer (Zombies, Singleplayer Campaign Locations! BO3 Teaser)

Additional marketing material for Treyarch’s just-announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has leaked, revealing the full look of the mysterious soldier silhouette that was teased in the announcement trailer earlier today.

His gear and outfit are quite clearly from a time beyond ours; you can even make out a more sleek-looking exo-skeleton –though perhaps more robotic in nature — that surrounds the outer layer of his arms and likely his back and legs as well. The giveaway is the outer plating attached to the rotary motor devices at his elbows.

If anything, the material suggests that the game will primarily take place in the future and will feature advanced soldier movement and strength similar to what Sledgehammer Games introduced in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

A game description that was discovered on the official Call of Duty website also confirms that Black Ops 3 will once again be made up of three primary game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. It also explains that the setting will take place in a “twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare.”

“Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most played games in Call of Duty® history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops’ setting spanned the Vietnam War with a flashback or two set in the World War 2 era. Meanwhile, Black Ops 2’s campaign primarily took place in the year 2025 with flashbacks to the original Black Ops’ timeline. This year, it appears that Treyarch is pushing the boundaries even further with a setting that takes place during the peak of our technological evolution.

EA SPORTS NHL®15 is in The Vault on EA Access

Back in March we announced the Preview Program would expand to the Xbox 360 and work much like the Xbox One Preview Program – selected members would be able to sign-up directly from their Xbox 360 and once registered, have the opportunity to install system updates and experience the new or improved features before they release to the general audience. One of the most requested features at the Xbox Feedback website was for larger external storage for the Xbox 360.

Storage_Screencap-5ff4819a-8145-4cdc-b1f4-0c1e10d708fa-28021500.png

</center> The next update for Xbox 360 Preview Program members will allow the use of 2TB hard drives to store Xbox 360 data. If you are not part of the Preview program you will get this functionality later this year. In addition we will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive. If you are using 16GB of hard drive space for games – we will only take 16GB of space. And just like today – you will be able to use two external drives at a time.

Note: Some drives may be incompatible or have performance issues. If you already have space reserved for storing Xbox 360 data, you will need to clear the Xbox 360 storage to gain full access to the drive. If you are in the Preview program, please review the list of known issues before formatting your drive.

As a reminder, the best way to recommend changes and improvements to the Xbox One or 360 is through the Xbox Feedback website. We appreciate your feedback and continue to work on improving the Xbox experience.

When we first started working on Xbox One a few years ago, we set out to build upon all of the things that made Xbox 360 great, and also address some of the things our fans found frustrating.

Two areas we sought to improve were how Xbox One updated the system, apps and game content and also how the console consumed power. In both areas, we were able to innovate and make improvements thanks to feedback from fans and partners in the power industry.

With the “Instant-on” power setting we solved an age-old problem of system updates that interrupted gaming and entertainment experiences and frustrated our users. This was easily a top concern shared by Xbox 360 owners.

With this power setting, the Xbox One is always up-to-date delivering updates and downloading content while the console is not actively being used. Only with this setting can you make game or content purchases from SmartGlass or Xbox.com and have the content download automatically to your home console. When factoring the monthly system updates, new features in apps and games and automatic mobile purchase downloads, the Instant-on setting easily saves users countless hours of needlessly waiting.

Instant-on also revolutionized the way you can control your entertainment with voice commands that allow you to power on the console with a simple request: “Xbox on.”

While we believe Instant-on provides the best experience for our fans, we also believe in providing consumer choice which is why we offered the “Energy-saving” mode. This lower power state consumes less energy and can save customers an average of $6 to $15 in energy costs* per year in the U.S. This mode does not provide the added value of background updating.

By providing multiple power states in Xbox One and empowering our fans with choice, we sought to balance energy efficiency and functionality. At the same time, we know many Xbox One fans are vigilant about their household’s energy consumption; after all, environmental leadership often begins at home.

It was that same personal leadership that drove our teams in the product design phase to maximize computational power per watt and drive significant improvements in how power is used in Xbox One. Even though the Xbox One is significantly more powerful with more feature functionality than Xbox 360, at launch it used about the same amount of power. This is possible because of the scalable architecture in Xbox One where it uses only the power it needs at the moment for the task at hand.

But we didn’t stop there: Our commitment to innovation continued. As we demonstrated with Xbox 360, we improved power consumption over time and we are doing the same with Xbox One. Since Xbox One launched, we’ve reduced the power consumed while in Instant-on by a third. At Microsoft, sustainability is core to our business practices—we continue to work to reduce the environmental impact of our products and services, and we are committed to carbon neutrality as a company.

As we continue to evolve the Xbox One experience, we are bringing this power choice front and center. In the coming months, new Xbox One owners around the world will be prompted with this choice in the initial console set-up process. Current Xbox One owners can easily make changes to their power consumption choices now in Settings under Power & start up.

We hope current and new Xbox fans will take the time to learn about the differences between Instant-on and Energy-saving settings so that they are empowered to make the choice that best fits their gaming and entertainment lifestyle.

*While individual energy costs vary, on average U.S. customers can expect to spend about $6.50 to $15.50 per year for “Instant-on” and about $0.26 to $0.62 per year for “Energy-saving” mode; EU customers can expect to spend about €7.25 to €27.50 per year for “Instant-on” and about €0.29 to €1.10 per year for “Energy-saving” mode.

Activision appears poised to unveil a new Guitar Hero game in an attempt to reboot the music game genre that once generated more than billion dollars a year in revenues. The company teased a new video today hinting at a reveal tomorrow.
The reboot is going to be a big test of the music games genre, which rose within a few years to $1.4 billion in 2008 but then collapsed due to a lack of innovation and oversaturation. At first, the plastic faux guitars were the rage, and competition between Guitar Hero and Rock Band set the genre on fire. But people tired of the over-priced pieces of plastic and having to pay for each new set of songs.

Hints of a new Guitar Hero surfaced as publications began reporting on an Activision-inspired music festival called SoundDial. The event invitation featured fictional bands such as Broken Tide, Blackout Conspiracy, and the Portland Cloud Orchestra. And Kotaku U.K. also reported that a new Guitar Hero would be announced at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2015. A rival Rock Band title is also in the works at Harmonix.

The video shows members of Broken Tide getting ready for a performance at the SoundDial event. It closes with the message, “It’s about to get real” and the date 4-14-15.

Activision generated more than $2 billion in total revenue for Guitar Hero. The last Guitar Hero game debuted in 2010. In that year, Activision released Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2. Neither did well, and Activision shelved further development in early 2011.

Back in 2011, Activision chief executive Bobby Kotick said that the Guitar Hero franchise lost its innovation and the audience disappeared as result. He said the company realized that it had to seriously revamp the game before coming out with another version. It has turned out to be a long wait.

Rival Harmonix soldiered on with more Rock Band titles, and it subsequently scored hits with gesture-controlled dance games such as Dance Central. But its Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved fell short of expectations when it debuted last fall.

Guitar Hero Live - Reveal Trailer

On Stage With The New Guitar Hero Live - Everything is Different

Star-Wars-Battlefront-EA.jpg

While the vast majority of Star Wars Battlefront enthusiasts are currently freaking out over the recently announced timed exclusivity for Xbox One thanks to EA Access, which should have come as no surprise whatsoever, another vast chunk of the fan base has been freaking out over the quality of teased Imperial Storm Trooper images that show an incredible level of detail.

But, that’s all it really is at this point. An image. We already know that what we’re going to be shown soon will have in game visuals, with Dennis Brännvall the games lead level designer. having told recently, “I’m going to answer a question in advance: Yes, that is actually what the game looks like.”

But like I, and countless others, have already said, “In Engine Visuals =/= Gameplay Visuals.” Don’t get me wrong, if the game sports this level of detail in-game, then that’s a fantastic feat to be admired. But I will remain sceptical until I play it, and so should you.

Mortal Kombat X Reviews

IGN - 8.4

polygon - 9

Mortal Kombat X is friendly both to casual players who want to experience its rich suite of single-player content and knock around with some friends, but deep enough for competitive players who want to plumb its roster and variations. It's a robust, feature-rich competitive fighting game that hones what's worked for NetherRealm Studios in past games, and even shows hints of restraint and maturity amidst the gory hyper-violence. Paired with an ambitious online meta-game, Mortal Kombat X is one of the best fighting games in the series.

Mortal Kombat X is a fantastic successor in every sense. The mechanics may be similar to 2011’s strong release, but with so many new modes and features permeating every part of the experience, it’s a worthy upgrade. Mortal Kombat X is more than the continuation of NetherRealm’s successful vision for the franchise; it’s one of the best fighting games in years.

Damn this is sad.. although IMO The Pre-Sequel wasnt all that great

2K Australia In Canberra Closes Its Doors

A source has just informed us that 2K Australia, the studio in Canberra that most recently brought us Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, is closing its doors.

It was confirmed the entire studio is closing, and all staff members will lose their jobs. “All hands are gone,” said our source.

2K Canberra was the last major AAA-style studio operating out of Australia. The costs of operating out of Australia were apparently to blame for the decision.

Sources close to the situation informed us that, at one point, a move to Melbourne was being planned, in an attempt to help attract new talent to the studio. This allegedly caused many high-level members of the team to leave and that may have factored into 2K’s decision to shut down the studio.

2K provided us with the following statement, confirming the closure.
We can confirm we have taken steps to begin the studio closure process for 2K Australia in order to better manage ongoing development costs while improving the working proximity of our creative teams. We are very grateful for the team’s valuable contributions to numerous 2K projects, and are working with affected staff to explore reassignment opportunities where possible.

Not again lol, a least Casey is gone this time.

Rumor: Next Mass Effect details leaked through survey

Lead the expedition in finding a new home for humanity.

Rumor-Next-ME-Details_04-18-15.jpg

First extensive details about the next Mass Effect may have leaked through an online survey.
The information, posted by Reddit user Benjamin_Stone and summarized by NeoGAF’s EatChildren, details the game’s narrative, exploration, customization, mission types, and multiplayer.
Of course, none of this information can confirmed at this time, but it’s worth noting that Dragon Age: Inquisition leaked in a similar way, with a survey detailing the Inquistor-hero story. NeoGAF user Shinobi602, who is known to have inside information from time to time, added that “quite a few deets in there are what I’ve heard.”
Get the purported details below.
Narrative

  • Premise: Set in the Helius Cluster of the Andromeda Galaxy, removed by time and space from the Mass Effect “Commander Shepard” trilogy and its ending. Play as a “Pathfinder” explorer leading expedition with the aim of establishing new home for humanity. Encounter “savage untamed lands”, “cut-throat outlaws”, and “warring alien races” in an effort to survive and colonies. Andromeda is home to a mysterious alien race, the Remnants, who’ve left their vaults and ancient technology throughout.
  • Game Objective: Explore 100s of solar systems (over 4x size of Mass Effect 3) collecting resources, developing your ship, crew, and arsenal, while engaging in diplomacy in order to set up colonies, while discovering the mystery behind the Remnants and racing to secure their technology.
  • New Species: Remnants, an ancient race who’ve left ruins and technology throughout the galaxy. And Khet, seemingly antagonistic.
  • Squadmates: Same as previous games: make friends, take two with you on missions. Cora is able to generate biotic shields you can fire out of. Drack is a Krogan.
  • Loyalty Missions: Same as previous games: complete to unlock increased loyalty and new skill tree for that character. Example: Krogan colony ship has been stolen by outlaws. Track down the ship and return it to increase loyalty with Drack. Dialogue trees and end game impacted by loyalty status.
  • Dialogue: “Meaningful choices.” Deeper control over responses, such as interrupting conversation. Action based choices are physical choices to shape the course of conversation, such as pulling out a weapon and forcing them to open a door instead of attempting to do so purely via conversation.
Exploration/Customization

  • Tempest Starship: Pilotable ship to discover 100s of solar systems. Customizable with trophies/loot/photos taken through the galaxy. Transition between flying ship, to landing on planet, to driving Mako, to getting out on foot, all seamless with no loading screens.
  • Mako Vehicle: Upgradable with turbo boost, shield generator, hostile detector, etc. Customizable paint job.
  • Planets: 100s of surfaces to explore, for discovering places to colonize, and alien vaults/outputs to conquer.
  • Colonies: Build settlements on habitable planets. Able to decide what type of settlement for bonuses. For example, Recon Settlements will clear fog of war on space map and offer more strike team missions, meanwhile Mining Settlements will periodically supply crafting materials.
  • Blueprints: Allow you to craft alien technology using materials for better equipment and weapons, such as a jetpack for jumping, cryo-beam to target enemies, etc.
  • Crew: Customizable skill trees, gear, weapons, etc.
Mission Types and Multiplayer

  • Remnant Vault Raids: Ancient ruins in two variants. Standard: Accessed by finding and activating Remnant Monoliths, explored to find a “powerful artefact”. Acquiring artefact triggers defense systems: robots, traps, and restructured layout. Rewards with valuable loot, crafting resources, and Star Keys. Orbital Facilities: Unlocked with Star Keys, provide permanent stat bonuses, and optional higher difficulty vault raids that add Khet patrols and outlaws. Rewards with rare loot and narrative acclaim.
  • Khet Outposts: Optional wave-based combat challenges that reward with XP, reduced Khet power and additional narrative options in the region if destroyed.
  • Strike Team: Spend resources to recruit mercenaries and develop AI controlled strike teams to be deployed on randomly generated, time sensitive missions. Include settlement defence and remnant artefact recovery. Strike Teams return 20 – 30 minutes later with XP, currency, and equipment depending on mission outcome. Spend money/resources to train Strike Team, and buy better equipment, to increase success rate and send on dangerous missions.
  • Active Strike Team: See above, however you can choose to complete the Strike Team mission manually via play using your multiplayer roster of characters. Able to play co-op with friends, more friends increasing difficulty and rewards. Bonus rewards for joining another players strike team mission. XP, loot, and customization rewards for Strike Team played characters are cohesive with multiplayer specific horde mode.
  • Horde Mode: Similar to Mass Effect 3: four players against waves of enemies with additional objectives such as disabling a bomb or assassinating a target. Similar XP/loot rewards to Mass Effect 3. APEX funds earned to be used in single player.
If you missed it, artwork for the next Mass Effect was shared in November.

^ so now they on some Battlestar Galactica-type shit it seems  then again looks like thats the only logical way to go after those endings in ME3

..and already Bioware's msg boards lighting up

If Destroy was canon why do we need a new home? I liked my idea better.

4- The search for Shepard
5- Shepard comes back to find the creator of the Reapers
6- Fight the Creators

Or say fuck it and everyone dies and you find Liara's message.

All I know is that the damn decisions better matter.

Yeah it only seems right after not having a proper ending to the Shepard story. Bioware & EA still haven't learned shit.
