Xbox One Console Reviews

If Destroy was canon why do we need a new home? I liked my idea better.

4- The search for Shepard
5- Shepard comes back to find the creator of the Reapers
6- Fight the Creators

Or say fuck it and everyone dies and you find Liara's message.

All I know is that the damn decisions better matter.

Yeah it only seems right after not having a proper ending to the Shepard story. Bioware & EA still haven't learned shit.

and they(Bioware) been saying numerous times they are "100 % D-O-N-E" with ME3 ending mess and Shepard in general.. said that there will be "like one or two brief mentions" of Shepard and thats it."

so if that leak is really the actual plot of ME4 then they just hit the reboot/reset button

Xbox keeps getting better with more new features coming to preview this month for both Xbox One consoles and the Xbox app on Windows 10. We’re making the Xbox app more social, while also giving you more control over your Xbox experience. Also, this month we are delivering several new fan-requested features to the Xbox One console and Xbox One SmartGlass.

  • Xbox on Windows 10
Let’s take a closer look at what’s coming to Xbox on Windows 10 with this month’s Xbox app preview and Windows Insider updates from the Windows team. We know you love recording and sharing game clips and screenshots, so this month we spent time enabling that feature on Windows 10.

Game DVR for PC games – The Game bar lets you record game clips of your favorite Windows games.

Screenshots – Take screenshots of Windows PC games by pressing Windows + Alt + PrtScr. Just as with Game DVR, you can also do this by clicking the “Screenshot” button on the Game bar.

Live Tiles – The Xbox tile on your Windows 10 start menu now welcomes you back, showing off your gamerpic and letting you know when you have new messages and activity alerts.

Avatar app – A new app is available in the Windows Store to customize your Xbox avatar’s appearance and outfit your avatar with a vast collection of items.

User profile – You can see another gamer’s bio, location, reputation, tenure, and other information in the more info page, including their animated avatar.

Real name sharing – Similar to the features we brought you in the March update on Xbox One, you can now choose to share your real name on the Xbox app with all of your friends or with everybody.

In addition to keeping you connected to your games and friends, we’re giving you even more control over the Xbox experience on Windows 10.

Xbox One Now Playing and media controls – The games and apps you’ve used most recently on your Xbox One are now displayed when you connect the Xbox app to your console. You can also use the Xbox app to pause, fast forward and rewind.

Live TV streaming and PIP (picture in picture) support – For preview members with an Xbox One Digital TV Tuner (in 16 European countries and Australia) or a Hauppauge 955Q TV Tuner (available in the U.S. or Canada) attached to their Xbox One, you can now stream live TV within your home from your Xbox One to Windows 10 PC running the Xbox app.

Xbox controller drivers – The drivers for Xbox controllers are now included with Windows 10, so you no longer have to download and install controller drivers on Windows 10.

The Xbox app will automatically update to the April preview version when it becomes available in the Windows Store. Once you receive the update, your version number should be 4.4.9014.0 or higher. You can verify the version number of the Xbox app in Settings.

  • Xbox One and SmartGlass updates
The Xbox team continues to work hard to bring the many fan-requested features on the Xbox Feedback site to Xbox One and Xbox One SmartGlass, with the following items being available to preview members this month:

Over-the-air TV for the U.S. and Canada – Earlier this month, we announced the preview for an Over-the-Air Tuner for the U.S. and Canada.

Power on and off from Xbox One SmartGlass – The beta versions of the Xbox One SmartGlass apps for Windows, Windows Phone and Android will be updated to let you turn your Xbox One on and off.

Wireless Display app – Try the Wireless Display app to cast photos stored on your phone to your Xbox One, or to stream non-protected video content from your PC to your Xbox.

User-selectable power mode – Select your preferred power mode, either Instant-on or Energy-saving mode.

Voice messages – The ability to send and receive voice messages from the Xbox One messages app continues in preview this month.
For more details about each of these features, check out the full story at Xbox Wire. And stay tuned for more great Xbox features coming your way on Xbox One and the Xbox app on Windows 10.

Don’t forget to let us know what you think at Xbox Feedback.

Microsoft and Black Tusk Studios are developing a remastered version of the original Gears of War for Xbox One, sources tell Polygon.

The re-release of Gears of War for Xbox One will include updated visuals and reworked cutscenes, courtesy of animation studio Plastic Wax, according to a source. Stills of Gears of War's remade opening cinematic were shown to Polygon, offering a new look at the Locust invasion with updated visuals.

Microsoft was previously rumored to be working on a remastered Gears of War anthology for its current console, dubbed the "Marcus Fenix Collection." But Black Tusk studio head Rod Fergusson, previously the series producer of Gears at developer Epic Games, downplayed those rumors earlier this year.

"I love the passion, but there's no Marcus Fenix Collection," Fergusson said in March. "We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I'll see you at E3!"

Microsoft acquired the Gears of War property from Epic Games in 2014. The company brought on Fergusson and tasked Black Tusk Studios with continued development of the Xbox and PC franchise. Xbox head Phil Spencer has indicated that Microsoft wants to get back to basics with Gears of War.

"The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, was just the epic scale of the settings that I was in," Spencer said in an interview last year. "The story, the setting was a lot more what I would call soulful and maybe even a little dark. I think the game over time became almost more of a parody of itself; not for any kind of horrible reasons. It's hard to continue to manage the IP."

Gears of War turns 10 years old in 2016. The first game in the series was released on Xbox 360 in November 2006, and was ported to Windows PC the following year.
Polygon has reached out to Microsoft and Black Tusk Studios for comment on Gears of War for Xbox One.

Update: According to another source, Brink and Dirty Bomb developer Splash Damage is working on the Xbox One remaster of Gears of War. The U.K.-based studio has several job listings that say it's working on a "very well known and highly popular AAA title with next gen technology." We've reached out to Splash Damage for comment.

Today, a number of people across the country obtained access to a test build for “Gears of War” on the Xbox One, as shown in the screenshot above. Although we suspected it might be part of an as-of-yet-unannounced Gears collection including a number of games in the series, this may in fact just be a remaster of the first Gears of War game, if a new Polygon report is accurate.

Polygon reports that Microsoft and developer Black Tusk are, as expected, remastering Gears of War for the Xbox One, and they say they’ve seen screenshots from a remastered version of the opening cinematic in the original Gears of War, which was released for the Xbox 360 in 2006. What we don’t know is whether this will be a standalone remaster or part of a bigger compilation, like the Halo: Master Chief Collection that Microsoft released last year.

Rumors of a Gears collection have been floating around for quite some time now, ever since Microsoft purchased the franchise and announced plans to make a new entry with their subsidiary studio Black Tusk. What would be surprising, however, is if Microsoft and Black Tusk only remastered the first entry in the series.

We hear this Gears test build will go live tonight around 9pm Eastern, so we should know more then. Microsoft has yet to respond to Kotaku’s requests for comment.

The next Call of Duty will be out in November. No surprise. November 6. Hey, that’s a Friday? Pre-order (ugh) for a beta that’s... on PS4, Xbox One, PC. No word about old-gen versions.

Note the fine print: “Actual platform availability and launch date(s) to be determined.

According to a tipster, these pre-order cards will be handed out at GameStops this Sunday, presumably in conjunction with the release of the first proper non-teaser trailer of the game.

Detailed information from a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 pamphlet has allegedly leaked, describing a multitude of new features and mechanics present in the game’s multiplayer, single player, and Zombies modes.

The images describe a new “momentum-based chained-movement system” that will allow players to traverse the map in continuous motion using thrust jumps, slides, and mantling abilities, all while remaining in control of your weapon at all times.
Multiplayer maps are “built from the ground up” to promote both traditional movement and advanced maneuvers.

The new Specialist character system will give players the opportunity to “rank up and master each specific character’s battle-hardened capabilities and weapons,” promising three different progression paths, including the traditional XP and Weapon XP systems.

Additionally, the pamphlet describes a campaign that can be played co-operatively with up to four players online. The mode is “designed for co-op and replayability” with cinematic gameplay and open-area arena-style environments. Characters will also be completely customizable.

Black Ops 3’s new Zombies mode will revolve around an “all-new narrative” with a “full XP-based progression system.”

Additional Black Ops 3 promotional material that leaked earlier today suggests Treyarch’s shooter will launch on November 6 but will also host a Beta test on next-gen platforms and PC prior to release.

Gears of War Remaster Coming To Xbox One [UPDATE]

UPDATE (9:10pm): It’s real. Three different people playing tonight’s test build tell us that it’s just the first Gears of War. This test build is multiplayer-only, featuring the following modes: Team Deathmatch; King of the Hill; 1 Life 1V1 Shotgun TDM; 1v1 Sudden Death Gnashers Only; 4v4 TDM Single Round; and 4v4 KOTH Single Round.

^^^ I wish they did 1 and 2...but still it's pretty exciting to hear...will def cop

Me too. I think the problems with the Master Chief collection got them shook. I wonder what the price will be for it, I hope under $50

Need the trilogy at least. Would love if they could sneak in 4 player coop for all 3.
