Xbox One Console Reviews

I was watching my friend play the beta on the PS4. The game is worth buying IMO. Now lets see if it has legs.

Destiny’s beta has finally begun on Xbox One, but things didn’t start too well for quite a few.

First of all, the process for the installation isn’t exactly explained in the best way. When you launch the download it’ll progress to 2% and it’ll say “ready to start.” Don’t launch it yet. You’ll find the reason why just below.

Many users are experiencing installation issues, which result in a warning about a corrupted installation requiring a fresh download, as you can see in the picture below (courtesy of NeoGAF user That’sMyTrunks)

Luckily Bungie seems to be aware of the problem, and mentioned on Twitter that they are investigating.
We’re aware of issues with installing on Xbox One. Please stand by for instructions.
In the meanwhile they updated the FAQs recommending not to launch the game at all until the download reaches 100%, no matter if it says “ready to start,” as the problem is probably determined by the fact that the game isn’t really corrupted, but it’s trying to install a package that hasn’t fully downloaded yet.
Of course, when the game is fully downloaded you will need to launch it to complete the installation, as what you downloaded is actually just the installer.

Your download is likely not corrupted, and happily downloading in the background. Please wait to launch Destiny until it is 100% downloaded.
To monitor the progress of your Destiny Beta download, please navigate to the Games & Apps tile from the Xbox One home screen.
Basically, if your Xbox One tells you the game is corrupted don’t delete it like it tells you to do, but check in your Games & Apps area to see if it’s still downloading. If it is, let it progress until it reaches 100%, then retry launching the beta.
Patience, Xbox brothers. You’ll soon be able to join the fray.

 man my download been going since 9 something an the messed up thing is i have one of the fastest internet time warner have to offer an my shit is at 83% an its 12:09am.....:smh: damn shame

Battlefield: Hardline Delayed To 2015

The next Battlefield game will no longer be out this fall—EA announced today that they've delayed Hardline to next year.

Developed by Visceral Games, the studio best known for Dead Space, Battlefield: Hardline is centered around police warfare. It was originally scheduled to be out this fall for PC and current- and last-gen consoles (minus Wii U).

This delay comes in the wake of the disastrous Battlefield 4, which ran into all sorts of bugs and technical issues when it was released last fall. Since then, EA has promised better things for the series, with EA boss Andrew Wilson mentioning to Kotaku boss Stephen Totilo the company's newfound willingness to delay games that they believe need more polish.

Here's <strike>Colin</strike> Karl Magnus Troedsson, GM of Battlefield developer DICE, explaining the delay:

Wii U gets no love :smh::lol:

Nintendo should buy Mega man from Capcom.

Damn no split screen co-op currently planned for Destiny. I had no idea. Was looking for something to play with my wife since Borderlands is last gen and no Left4Dead 3 announcement. I guess we will try Diablo when it comes out.

Yeah this is the part of gaming that is really starting to piss me off about these companies....

they eliminate the buddy system when friends could visit each other order some pizza and beer and finish levels of a game together.....

that s the shit that you talk about years later....

Older cats can concur....just think if there was no Contra......:smh:

Today there wouldn t have been Contra.....

greed is killing gaming

The Beta has been eye-opening so far. We’ve watched the world of Destiny come to life. Guardians from every platform have arrived at the Tower from their battles in the wild. We have watched your adventures with great interest, and listened to your feedback. Your missions have provided us with volumes of discoveries we can use to prepare for the launch of Destiny in September.

Our work is not done. There is more we can learn. To make this happen, we need more Guardians to play. This is, above all else, a test.

Today, at 4:00 PM PDT, we’re opening the Destiny Beta to anyone who wants to create a character and walk in their boots. There are, of course, some requirements. You’ll need to have a compatible console equipped with PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. You’ll need to be brave.

Help us deliver the game you deserve. Before we shut this party down, we’ll welcome everyone who wants a preview of this brave new world. If you have yet to play Destiny, look for offers to download the Beta directly from your console later on this afternoon.

If you have played the Beta, please prepare for new arrivals. We know you won’t go easy on them in the Crucible. Show no mercy.

That's my problem too. No split screen co-op.

You will need to be very brave (and perhaps a bit patient) to help us reach our goal. To help you stay focused on our objectives, we’ve given you one of your own. Everyone who makes an appearance will earn a nameplate to help you prove that you were there when the record for concurrent players was set before the launch of the game. It will help you to be a rare and unique snowflake when Destiny launches in September.

This is a flash mob. Set your destination. The Iron Banner will be live. The Director will still beckon with the lures we’ve littered all across Old Russia.

We’re even sending you on a new story mission. For this one, you’ll be glad you scrounged that jump drive from the wastes of the Cosmodrome. You don’t need us to tell you where you’re headed. We’ve marked it on the map since the moment when the Beta Build became a secret whispered about by only our friends and family. This new destination will be open to you for two hours.

The Destiny Beta is not a private party. It’s the precursor to the launch of the most ambitious game we’ve ever made. You are invited to do your very best to emulate the final form of the citizenry that will fight to protect the last safe city on Earth, later on this year.

Eyes up, Guardians.
