What the fuck is going with Sony? Uncharted' Writer/Director Amy Hennig forced out of Naughty Dog. And just now.....

"Jack Tretton will step down from his role as President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) as of March 31, 2014"

WOW

If Amy's departure in anyway effect the next installment of The Last of Us, I'm going set the set that studio on fire!

Might be jumping off a sinking ship with Sony's possible bankruptcy.

Wonder if Microsoft is gonna introduce him @ E3

^

I bet it has to something to do with their salaries.

Sony losing money on each PS4 sold. And they are not doing so well on software sales.

Xbox is selling a lot of software (47 percent of software market share).

Call Of Duty Multiplayer Goes Free This Weekend On Xbox Live

MilitaryCOD610.jpg

Activision and Infinity Ward are making some of Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer free on Xbox Live this weekend. This demo-style experience will include a limited number of maps and modes.

Three maps will be available to those participating in the demo: Strikezone, Warhawk, and Prison Break. Three competitive game types will be available, including team deathmatch, search and rescue, and domination. Additionally, Extinction mode will give players a taste of cooperative play.

Demo players will be in their own pool (sorry, veterans, no fresh meat for you), and progress won’t carry over to the full version. Still, if you want to see what this year’s Call of Duty feels like (especially on new-generation hardware), this weekend is a perfect opportunity.

The demo weekend will be live for Xbox One and Xbox 360 from 10 am PST on Friday, March 7, through Monday, March 10. You can read our review of Call of Duty: Ghosts for more on this year's installment.

Our Take
This is new ground for the Call of Duty series, and a smart move in an increasingly competitive shooter landscape. A multiplayer demo gives players a chance to put Call of Duty: Ghosts alongside Titanfall back to back. The only thing that would make it stronger is progress carrying over to the full version should someone choose to purchase (even within a limited time).

A new gun was released on COD today for Season Pass holders called "The Ripper"...

But kind of odd how it looks sort of familiar in Assault Rifle mode, right?...

Microsoft Put Secret Sauce in Xbox One?

Directx12 is probably more unifying the different platforms and bringing XB1 API changes to PC.
It probably won't be available for Windows 7.

Andrew Goossen: To a large extent we inherited a lot of DX11 design. When we went with AMD, that was a baseline requirement. When we started off the project, AMD already had a very nice DX11 design. The API on top, yeah I think we'll see a big benefit. We've been doing a lot of work to remove a lot of the overhead in terms of the implementation and for a console we can go and make it so that when you call a D3D API it writes directly to the command buffer to update the GPU registers right there in that API function without making any other function calls. There's not layers and layers of software. We did a lot of work in that respect.

We also took the opportunity to go and highly customise the command processor on the GPU. Again concentrating on CPU performance... The command processor block's interface is a very key component in making the CPU overhead of graphics quite efficient. We know the AMD architecture pretty well - we had AMD graphics on the Xbox 360 and there were a number of features we used there. We had features like pre-compiled command buffers where developers would go and pre-build a lot of their states at the object level where they would [simply] say, "run this". We implemented it on Xbox 360 and had a whole lot of ideas on how to make that more efficient [and with] a cleaner API, so we took that opportunity with Xbox One and with our customised command processor we've created extensions on top of D3D which fit very nicely into the D3D model and this is something that we'd like to integrate back into mainline 3D on the PC too - this small, very low-level, very efficient object-orientated submission of your draw [and state] commands.

If comments from DayZ creator Dean Hall are anything to go by, it sounds like Microsoft is cooking up some exciting new features for the Xbox One. After meeting with Microsoft to discuss a console version of DayZ, Hall said he got to see some "really interesting" features coming to the platform, though he's not allowed to discuss them just yet.

"I have nothing against consoles, and there's some really interesting and exciting things happening. That was one of the cool things about meeting with Microsoft," Hall told Eurogamer. "There were definitely some things they said that I'm not allowed to talk about that I was like, 'Wow! That's interesting. Why don't you tell people that?' But I guess they want to make sure everything all goes together and that."

Unfortunately, Hall gave no additional information about what these exciting new Xbox One features might be. For its part, Microsoft has maintained that the Xbox One product roadmap is a marathon, not a sprint, with new features and functionality rolling out over time.

Hall also said that he's met with Sony to discuss a console version of DayZ for presumably the PlayStation 3 and/or PlayStation 4.

He explained that a decision about a console version of DayZ is likely to be made by the end of 2014. He made clear that a console iteration of the zombie game is not in development right now, and if it does get green-lit, it will probably take 12 months to create a console version.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hall said the full version of DayZ will probably launch sometime in the spring or summer of 2015. The game has already sold 1.5 million copies through its in-development Early Access alpha version. A beta is expected to go live before the end of 2014. And when DayZ does see its full, finished release, Hall said he anticipates that the game might be significantly different than the version we know today.

"It could even be fundamentally different," Hall said. "As some of these new features come on--even some of the things we introduce now--it suddenly changes the whole way the game's played. We finally got it so that ruined objects don't really work any more; that suddenly changed the way players were behaving. If you shoot someone and destroy their gear, it doesn't work any more. Even little things like that can have profound effects."

Hall confirmed this week that he will leave the DayZ development team by the end of the year and return to his home country of New Zealand. However, his contract stipulates that he's required to be involved with the future of the game in some capacity on an ongoing basis.

"Sony losing money on each PS4 sold"

Masayasu Ito, Sony Computer Entertainment senior vice president, has admitted that for every PS4 console sold, Sony will be losing money. In other words, the cost of manufacturing and shipping the console costs more than the retail price. However, the loss is not going to be that great, and the company believes it will easily make the money back from the sales of games and PlayStation Plus subscriptions alongside the hardware.

"This meant a 47 percent share of the software market, with at least five of the top best selling games for the month being available on Xbox."

I
We're talking about Xbox one not Xbox as a whole. Xbox one doesn't own 47% of the market. XB1 is getting dominated by PS4. Sony has just sold 14.2 million games, killzone is the best selling next gen game at 2.1 million. The article you quoted even show how sony plans to recoup that loss. Xbox one is not making more profit than Sony is right now.

I said "Xbox is selling a lot of software (47 percent of software market share)."

I didn't say Xbox one. :smh:

And i said "Sony losing money on each PS4 sold"

which is true.

You have to read the whole post before getting mad :lol:You do the same shit that those guys do on IGN and neogaf. Read before you react.

Your the one that's misinformed.

So don't waste my time with this bullshit. Infamous is coming out in a few weeks. Post some game play, and keep it moving. You could post that shit here IDGF.

Why are these fanboy trolls running around spamming links to BS articles they have no fundamental understanding of in the first place?..

Why aren't they over in the PS4 thread talking about the big PS4 exclusives dropping this... oh wait..

his link said theyre losing like 18 dollars per console though

They are losing more then 18 per console. The article he posted was a hardware cost break down. It doesn't included the cost of manufacturing and shipping the console costs.

So i was 100% correct when i said "Sony losing money on each PS4 sold" and the senior vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment backs up my statement.

Man... Like I said in the other thread.. It's $100 less, had a 2 week head start, and has released in 20+ more countries.. It should be LEAGUES ahead in sales by now, but it's barely surpassed XB1 in the US, plus they're losing money...

What's going to happen when the price drops for XB1 tho?...

The whole article.

Masayasu Ito, Sony Computer Entertainment senior vice president, has admitted that for every PS4 console sold, Sony will be losing money. Sony isn’t saying how much of a loss it will incur per console, but the loss will apparently easily be recouped after, or even during that initial hardware sale. That isn’t just because a PS Plus subscription is more important for this generation, but Ito suggested developing games for the system will cost less, too. So while games retain their $60 price point, they should cost less than PS3 games did to create, meaning higher profits per title.

If you factor in the expected three console bundles at launch, many more gamers signing up for a PS Plus annual subscription, and at least one title being sold alongside each console, you can see how Sony may break even on each initial PS4 sale. That’s a far better situation than when the PS3 launched.

For both Xbox One and PS4 there’s also more potential for greater profits from digital sales. Purchasing games directly on a console is now much more commonplace, and both machines will have access to other content purchases such as movie and TV series rentals and license purchases. It seems likely Sony and Microsoft will push digital sales harder this generation, as a $60 digital game purchase is much more profitable than the same-priced physical version.

You could also argue that by being priced higher the Xbox One is enticing PS4 owners to buy more games. The thinking will be “I can get a PS4 with two games for the price of an Xbox One” and Sony will be sure to focus in on that fact in marketing this year.

POST SOME PS4 GAMES. If the PS4 is sooooo great you ninja's should not have a hard time posting games for the BGOL fam.

Ninja's can find articles but can't find an Infamous game play video, this shit is sad. :smh:

I'm going to have to post some more PS4 games in here. :smh::lol:
