O'Donnell was one of the last employees still working at Bungie from its days prior to Microsoft's purchase of the company in 1999. In addition to his work on the Halo series, O'Donnell has done a ton of sound work, as well as composing music for the upcoming Destiny.

Update: Bungie has confirmed O'Donnell's departure, offering the following blurb in a company blog post titled "There are those who said this day would never come...":

For more than a decade, Marty O'Donnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future.

We wish him luck in all his future endeavors.

Both systems is boring right now...where the fuck are all the system seller games.... this generation has been a let down so far. right now im tired of titanfall and im sitting here waiting for something else to play but nothing has my interest. ps4 dont have shit either.

So despite Titan fall being free and various price drops ps4 still outsold the xbox one in March. Wow sand sony hasn't even dropped a system seller yet.

with all these execs, developers, studios being fired/let go and games being pushed back who the fuck knows what kinda games we gonna get...

this is why i dont dabble in the stock market i would be broke lol

Only fanboys care about stuff like that. Folks who have an Xbox One or actually both are primarily gaming on the One cause that's where the games are. (*cough* that and the Nintendo 3DS)

The One is still outpacing the 360 which means plenty of consoles to make a game profit for a developer.

I have both and that's far from the truth

since Indie games/self-publishing are starting to become big again w/ the new consoles might be a good idea to look into that..

Mostly Titanfall and Forza. One of my boys into Second Sons but mostly everyone else FPS.

The only game that gets the most burn on the PS4 is Madden and 2K14 but admittedly I'm not a huge sports gaming fan.

Don't mind him. His job is to shake things up in this thread when we get too happy about enjoying the XB1. He knows that most people are saying that Sony is he best while playing multi platform games. He also knows that it's inFamous/Killzone/Knack up against Titanfall/Dead Rising/Ryse/Forza/Zoo Tycoon. And he also admits that Sony has no system seller out which isn't Really a compliment.

and they probably wont announce it then either  only reason the price is how it is now cause of Kinect 2.0 :smh:

They should keep the Kinect. Just drop the price to 400, take the hit. They could drop it if that doesn't work. Doing it that way gives them more options later on.

Microsoft needs to keep the Kinect. Now when Dance Central 4 drops, everyone can enjoy it. They might steal some of the Wii's Just Dance crowd.

Destiny, Halo developer Bungie's upcoming massively multiplayer first-person shooter, is on track for its Sept. 9 release, and those creating it have the game's "final approach" in their sights.

According to a post by community manager Eric "Urk" Osborne, that means that the studio knows what must be done to complete the game during the next several months. Destiny is running in a pre-alpha state, with two milestones to follow before its release.

"Pre-Alpha itself is just a beginning," Osborne wrote. "It leads us into Alpha proper, and you into Beta, but it's already keeping us up late into the night. Though we're bleary-eyed and exhausted with the day-to-day challenge of keeping Destiny ON TRACK, the tiny sampling offered by our Pre-Alpha is already hugely motivating. For many of us, especially those who have never had the opportunity to see what it's like to ship a new IP, it's been downright monumental — a testament to what this team is truly capable of and the foundation, we hope, for a game experience we can all feel proud to put our name on and shout, 'I made that!'"

The Destiny beta is scheduled for this summer, where it will arrive first on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The public beta will also be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and you can gain access by pre-ordering the game.

For more on Destiny, you can read Polygon's E3 in-depth interview with its developers. Polygon also visited Bungie recently, so be sure to check back next Monday for ourimpressions and news about the game.
