Watch Dogs release date set between April and June 2014 [Update]

Ubisoft delays Wii U version

Watch Dogs will release sometime between April and June, during the first quarter of Ubisoft's 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced the date in a financial release Monday. He said in a conference call with investors that the firm will give a more specific release date for the game "very soon."

Update: Guillemot said in the same call that the Wii U version will be launched "at a later date."

Watch Dogs was previously confirmed for release in Spring 2014, after being delayed out of the launch window for Xbox One and PS4.

"Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming," the company explained at the time. "From the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality.

"As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience."

Rumors circulated in January that the game's Wii U version had been canceled after an alleged "glitch" in GameStop's systems, though Ubisoft has declined comment on its status since then.

One of the biggest talking points surrounding Titanfall, the upcoming shooter from Respawn Entertainment, has been the developer’s decision to construct the game’s multi-player as teams of six versus six. According to Respawn Entertainment Founder Vince Zampella, that decision was, “not an arbitrary number we picked out of a hat…we played the game…we had it higher, we had it lower, 6v6 was the sweet spot. It was dense enough, it was chaotic enough, but not overbearing.”

To supplement the teams of six, bots will be a major part of online gameplay. When asked as to whether or not players will be able to tweak the difficulty of these bots, Mr. Zampella responded with a curt, “No.” Regarding the differences between the beta and the full release, he added that the core is there, and despite changes are made under the hood, the behaviors of the bots will largely stay the same.

Titanfall will be published by Electronic Arts for the Xbox One and PC on March 11th and Xbox 360 on March 25th, 2014.

state-of-decay-logo-670x376.jpg

State of Decay became a huge success as one of the best-selling (and fastest-selling) XBLA games to hit the Xbox 360, and for those looking to get a little bit more of the game in their life, luckily it seems like the wait won’t be too much longer.

In a post on developer Undead Labs’ blog, the studio revealed that the second expansion, “Lifeline,” will be bringing new content and features to the game when it releases, most notably adding a new map.

While the studio mentioned that there is no set release date yet for the new content as the expansion is just entering internal testing phases, they did mention a few details of what to expect from the new DLC:

“We’re not yet ready to discuss features or make promises. All we can tell you is that it will offer you a new way to play your favorite survival game, that we intend to launch on PC and the Xbox 360 at the same time, and that yes, it will broaden your horizons by a few kilometers.”

“Fine, I’ll say it straight up: There’s a new map, okay?

Following the release of its first expansion, Breakdown, back in November 2013, you can stay tuned for more details from Undead Labs on what to expect from the new DLC and for more on State of Decay.
