^^^ My guess is that everyone is running interference with the LSH deflections. They have set up too much and her existence is too pivotal to both Brienne and Jamie's arcs, for her not to appear. They HAVE to introduce her at some point.

All men must die, but not all of them have to stay dead.

Season 4 of "Game of Thrones" wrapped up almost two weeks ago and fans of George R.R. Martin's book series are still upset a certain character was left out of the final episode. Lady Catelyn Stark, the matriarch of the Stark family, made a fatal mistake in attending a wedding in Westeros in Season 3. We all know how those happy affairs tend to end when they take place in the Seven Kingdoms, and after she watched her son fall at the hands of Lord Bolton, Catelyn Stark had her own throat slit by one of his men.

The episode was the most shocking of the show and fans still haven't gotten over the loss of two of our favorite Starks, so naturally, when talk of Fairley reprising her role during the finale of Season 4 took hold, we got more than little excited. (For anyone who hasn't read the books, after Catelyn Stark is killed she's resurrected and becomes the zombified harbinger of vengeance known as Lady Stoneheart.)

Unfortunately for Fairley, and for the fans, it looks like Catelyn Stark is staying where she is: six feet under. Fairley spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the omission of her character in the finale of Season 4 and all but confirmed she won't be returning to the fantasy series.

"Yeah, the character’s dead. She’s dead," Fairley said. The actress went on to defend the option to leave out her character's arc in Season 4.

"You respect the writers’ decision," Fairley said. "They can’t stick to the books 100 percent. They have got to keep it dramatic and exciting, and extraneous stuff along the way gets lost in order to maintain the quality of brilliant show." Which basically means we can say goodbye to any hope of seeing Lady Stoneheart during Season 5.

Nothing in the article above means that lady stonehart can't still be in the series.

Catelyn Stark is dead. It would be cheesy but they could bring in a stunt double along with some cgi to play the Stoneheart character.

I think the role is important in redressing some of the wrongs done to rhe Starks. It adds.balance to the series

Game Of Thrones might feature a ton of sex and nudity on a regular basis, but on the whole, Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister has mostly stayed above the fray. She’s wielded power in far different, far less overtly sexual ways, but on the upcoming season, fans will finally get to see the vindictive, villainous and weirdly enchanting mother strip down, at least if the Croatian authorities get their acts together.

The problem is one of permits and the local church. Game Of Thrones is currently shooting in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Producers have already gotten permission and the necessary permits to shoot everything they need, except for one scene that involves Cersei Lannister getting naked outside. The rest of the world might be dying to see that, but the local and extremely powerful Church Of St. Nicholas is apparently not so excited. According to TMZ, Church Officials told the film commission not to give out the permits, and the film commission listened.

As of right now, there’s reportedly no solution reached. Basically, there are four options. First, the Game Of Thrones people get as charming as possible and convince the local church that seeing Cersei’s boobs will bring so much happiness to people that it’s worth making an exception. Second, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss could decide to give Cersei small, flesh-colored underwear and shoot from angles that would obscure the actual nudity. Third, they could spend a whole bunch of money flying everyone involved to a different, more nudity-friendly location that would allow the scene to be shot unedited. Or fourth, it could be completely cut from the new season.

To explain why certain choices are more likely than others, we’re gonna have to get into SPOILERS. So, if you don’t want to know anything more, please bail on this article immediately.

The scene in question is the big moment when Cersei finally gets her cummupance. She is forced to take a Penance Walk, completely naked, across King’s Landing. It’s one everyone involved has been planning for, and it’s one fans of the books have been especially pumped about. In fact, one of the reasons why Cersei has remained so clothed over the years is because actress Lena Headey wanted the Penance Walk to be that much more shocking.

As a result, cutting the scene completely seems completely out of the question. Given the show’s popularity, I would guess heading to another location would probably be the most likely option, but I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. It’s unlikely other parts of Croatia would have different reactions to an American show wanting a naked woman to film outside.

We’ll keep you updated.

Blah blah, Unless you're 14, it's not that important that we the viewer see her naked. It is important that we know the people in town are seeing her naked and humbled.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

This is some bullshit for all the people who read the books prior to the series.

http://www.vulture.com/2015/03/game-of-thrones-will-spoil-the-books-good.html

Game of Thrones Will Officially Spoil the Books — Good!

At a recent event in the Oxford Union, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss confirmed what everyone other than George R.R. Martin knew to be the case: GOT is going to end before Martin's books do. The possibility has been out there from the beginning, but with Martin's next book not arriving until 2016 at the earliest and Benioff and Weiss holding firm to their seven-season plan, the showrunners acknowledged that the grand conclusion of the Song of Ice and Fire saga will hit screens before it ever makes its way onto the page. "I kind of wish there were some things we didn’t have to spoil in terms of the books," Benioff admitted, "but we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place, so the show must go on."

To which we say: Great! Thrones purists are understandably disappointed that the adaptation will give away the ending to the original work, but we can think of a few upsides to the show finishing before the books. First, it has long been our opinion that the proper way to experience the dual versions of ASOIAF is to watch a season of the show, then read its book equivalent after. That way, you get all the visceral action first, then get to enjoy an expanded scope the second time around. (Reading the books before watching the show puts you in distinct danger of being one of those people who can only concentrate on what's been left out.) Second, Martin's books will undoubtedly turn out better if he's not rushing through them, trying to beat the show to the end; as Benioff argues, "If it takes him 20 years to finish the series, that's what it should take him." And finally, by ending first, the show can function as a rough draft for Martin while he works on his "real" version. Say the show kills Tyrion, and everyone hates it — a few years later, he can just keep Tyrion alive, and throw the blame on Benioff and Weiss. It's the perfect plan!

Next year in April, they will air Season 6, which will be Book 6. And who knows if the book will be out by then. So that is when the new shit will be dropping for viewers who are also book readers.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

That's really lame for book readers. But that last season of the show is gonna be crazy ratings wise.

Even if they mess up GRRM can fix it end the books.

Those books get will get published one way or another, if he's told the show runners enough of how it ends, They can find a talented writer to put 1500 pages around it easily enough.

As far as spin off's. There's certainly enough World LORE to do that, but I don't think just setting it in the world is good enough. There has to be some tie to the characters most casual fans know. I think the Baratheon rebellion would be good setting. It's far enough back in time from the current show to have different actors playing the main characters like Ned and Robert but so far back that the world feels different.

Yep. Patrick Rothfuss is the best story teller in fantasy. The first book was an instant classic. Didn't care for the 2nd as much, but I'm hoping it just suffers from middle book syndrome.

My only complaint is that this dude Rothfus is ANOTHER slow writer. He claimed that he had the whole story written when he was in school, but it took him 4 years to publish the second book in 2011 and it will probably be 2016 before he publishes the 3rd. And his books are nowhere near as big as Martins.

He released some b.s. side story about one of the minor characters backstory last year. I didn't even bother to pick it up.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

Well peeps, after last nights episode, I think the show's divergence from the books is going to only get wider and wider.

Storylines/Characters that appear to be cut so far

1. Young Griff (Baby Aegon) and Griff (Lord Connington) storyline appears to be out. They seemed to have merged Connington's role into Jorah's now that he has the grayscale. If Jorah hooks up with mercenary companies when he gets to Mereen then it's definitely dead. IMO, the whole baby Aegon arc was the biggest WTF in the whole book series. I guess GRRM must have told them that Aegon must get exposed as a fake or something.

2. Euron Crowseye, Victarion, Aeron and the whole Iron born kings moot sequence. I really enjoyed the kingsmoot in the book, but I admit it didn't really move the story forward. I guess we could still some Ironborn raiding westeros later in season 5, but I think it's just as likely we don't. Theon is probably going to continue to play a big role, but I'd be surprised if even Asha/Yara gets any more time in the show.

3. Wyman Manderly and White Harbor. In book 5, Manderly does something no one else in the North manages to do, he actually gets revenge on Frey's and Boltons. They can't do the whole Davos interrogation at White Harbor because Davos stayed with Stannis on the Wall, but I really liked how Manderly showed that all Starks former bannermen were not meekly falling in line to the Boltons. No Frey pie I guess. :smh: I guess Sansa being at Winterfell in the show will be merged with Fake Arya/Jeyne Pool character. Looks like Sansa will get a chance at some revenge directly.

4. Quentin Martell and crew. They already have cut Dorne down to bare bones with no Arianne Martell. Quentin was another Euron/Aegon type character in the book who tries to make a play for Daenarys hand. Unlike those other two he doesn't make it out of book 5, so no need to put him in the show really.

5. Stoneheart. We already knew UnCatelynn wasn't coming back, but again the one purpose she served in the books was to get some payback for the Starks against the Freys.

Thankfully, the show cut the about 15-20 unecessary characters from the Mereen storyline although with Baristan dead and Grey Work out of commission, I kinda wish Strong Bulwas had been added to give Dany some additional muscle.

Re: Winter is Coming- Game of Thrones s3 & s4 *spoilers*(TV fans & readers only upto

One other thing that bothers me,

The whole Jamie goes to Dorne plot in the show kinda derails the "Redemption of the Kingslayer" arc in the book. In Book 5, Jamie spends a lot of time undoing some of the damage that Tywin afflicted on the land during the war of the 5 kings. Jamie in Dorne doesn't seem to have that choice, he's effectively a mercenary for the queen here. I still don't get why Jamie is compelled to go himself. By this point in the book, he's effectively done with his sister, so it's another diversion that hasn't been fully explained.

There is a wild theory out there that Euron is already in the show. If so, it would make sense on why they are holding back on the Greyjoy storyline. It would be a serious reveal, if they hold the kingsmoot and Daario shows up as Euron. GRRM has mentioned that there is more to Daario than what has been written so far. This would make him a Littlefinger type character.

One way or another, Dany will need ships and lots of em. Also, don't Victarian have the dragon horn. I would think all that would have to come into play somehow.
