cranrab said:if you take a look at the current standings, it would seem reasonable to say that the fakers have the 6th seed pretty well locked up.
it also looks like i will be wrong about a 50 win season for the fakers, but is 46-36 an unreasonable expectation?
as dallas took 6th
cranrab said:never let it be said i don't own up to my mistaken estimations.
the fakers lost the 6th spot tonight (for how long?), as dallas took 6th, moving the fakers into 7th.
i already acknowledged my prediction of 50 games was faulty. don't tell me a prediction of 40 wins is too many too.![]()

This is not meant to be 'ha8te' for Kobe, but I think he has lost a step this season.
He can't take over games like he once could. He can't shut down defenders like he once could. He just isn't as dominating.
It's true but it's not because of 10 years in the league. It's because of a 2nd knee surgery and yes, he has definitely lost a step.
SpiritualPorn said:He always had some insane summer workouts, like one summer he added tons of muscle, one summer he run every day, all day and he was in a perfect running shape etc
SpiritualPorn said:He has lost a step but he's still the least of the Lakers problems IMO...although he may become their number 1 problem soon because I don't know how much he can take this.
SpiritualPorn said:Worst home loss in Laker history
Worst back to back loss as far as point total in LAker History
Longest losing streak of Jacksons career
I didn't think it would be this bad
cranrab said:this is still the incorrect position. these individuals perceive a diminishing of tobe's skills. IN FACT, tobe has never had the skills they imagine he has lost. that is how complete and successful their deception has been.
these types of comments ALWAYS MAKE ME LAUGH. unless you were with tobe EVERY SINGLE DAY while he worked out, you wouldn't be in any position to discuss the nature or length of tobe's workout regimen. FURTHERMORE, unless you were with AT LEAST ONE OTHER player EVERY SINGLE DAY while he worked out (to establish a baseline), you wouldn't be in any position to comment on how rigourous or thorough his workouts are in comparison.
people who make comments like "hardest working" or "insane summer workouts" immediately reveal themselves as buffoons with NO credibility.
i will say this for the record here and now. tobe has NOT lost a step, nor is his game in decline. physically, tobe's skills and abilities are BETTER than what he entered the league with. mentally, tobe's understanding of the game has made NO improvement in a decade. i've always maintained that tobe would be MOST PRODUCTIVE at the SF OFF THE BENCH. the experiment worked in san antonio when they moved manu ginobili to the bench.
People are starting to turn on him, like today I've heard on the radio that he's the problem because ever since Shaq left the Lakers have been mediocre with Kobe as a leader. This is definitely doing damage to his legacy, we"ll see how he responds if this continues...
fakers fans are traditionally fair weather. they'll scapegoat their own mama in a minute. tobe will be the last resort. right now A LOT of people are talking about how the fakers should fire coach jackson.

SpiritualPorn said:Somewhere this "team"......has lost any form of confidence
Kobe was an asshole and backstabbing when they were winning championships....I could just imagine that fucker now.
cranrab said:what a complete buffoon.
only tobe fans scramble for obscure and meaningless statistics about scoring binges in gay attempts to validate their hero.
i ALWAYS hear people talking about how great michael jordan was because he was able to score 50+ in consecutive games.yeah, right. or is it because his teams were able to surpass 50+ WINS so many times.

or i ALWAYS hear people talking about how great elgin baylor was because he was able to score 50+ in consecutive games in 1962.yeah, right. or is it because he AVERAGED 38 points and 18 rebounds for the ENTIRE season?

@ the pitiful fools. but i'll get behind them. shoot MORE tobe!

xfactor said:I wonder what the lakers' chances of making the playoffs were if they didnt hold on to beat the Seattle Super Sonics tonight? Looking at their schedule they could've dropped out of contention because they could easily go 0-4 in their next 4 games.![]()
cranrab said:the pitiful state of the worstern conference makes it next to impossible for the fakers to NOT make the playoffs. even though the fakers haven't clinched a playoff spot, playoff tickets are already on sale.
EVEN IF the fakers lost ALL OF their remaining games, it would still take the following for them to be knocked out of contention.
clippers would have to go 4-4 over their last 8 games. 4 against playoffs teams, 4 on the road.
warriors would have to go 4-2 over their last 6 games. 3 against playoffs teams, 3 on the road.
nuggets would have to go 2-5 over their last 7 games. 4 against playoffs teams, 5 on the road.
SpiritualPorn said:I don't see any of those scenarios as impossible.
SpiritualPorn said:The Nuggets beat the Mavs last night.
SpiritualPorn said:Barely beating the Sonics when fighting to save 6th
SpiritualPorn said:Almost 30 shots again Kobe?
cranrab said:any ONE or TWO of those scenarios by themselves is NOT impossible. but ALL FOUR together? highly unlikely. and ALL FOUR would have to take place for the fakers to get bounced out of the playoffs.
i thought that was an upset until i discovered that josh howard only played 7 minutes after twisting his ankle in Q1. then it all made sense.
yeah. excuse me if i'm not overwhelmed that the fakers beat the SECOND WORST team in the worstern conference (14th out of a possible 15 teams), who were playing without their leading scorer, ray allen. the supersonics also lost PG luke ridnour during the game.
oh, but i guess it was fair, because the fakers didn't have kwame brown either.and coach jackson benched william parker again, so everything evened out.
tobe scored a legit 40 points last night. the rest was stat padding down the stretch while the supersonics played the foul game for more possessions.
the fakers deserved the win last night. coach hill made the mistake of using chris wilcox as the supersonics number one option on O down the stretch. though chris wilcox DESTROYED the fakers frontline throughout the game, he is NOT a reliable option for typical half court, back to the basket post play.
regarding tobe's 27 shots: i guess fakers fans are comfortable seeing tobe shooting 34%+ of the fakers shots BY HIMSELF. i'm sure they're not bright enough to figure out that a more balanced O would make things considerably easier for the team.@ a 3 point win over the SECOND WORST team in the conference.
EDIT:
people who watched the game will honestly remember the fakers with tobe on the floor trailed by 8 at halftime. they will also remember the fakers with tobe on the floor still trailed by 4 at the end of Q3. it wasn't until coach jackson gave tobe a 4 minute rest that the real fakers players were able to eliminate the deficit and mount the comeback.
Ronnie Lester of the Lakers is my cousin and this is what he has told me they plan to do:1. Trade Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown and Jordan Farmar on Draft Night to the Pacers for Jermaine O'neal and Jamal Tinsley 2. They will draft Rodney Stuckey with there first pick and Sean Williams with there 2nd pick which is near the top of the 2nd rd. 3. They will sign and trade Luke Walton to Miami for Michael Doleac and Dorell Wright. This is at Shaq's request. Any Questions?

Who's to say these guys wont get picked before the Lakers choose? They will draft Rodney Stuckey with there first pick and Sean Williams with there 2nd pick which is near the top of the 2nd rd
So you stay in and you still get your ass beat going 2 for 8 in the fourth quarter. Way to make a differece!Kobe Bryant said:“If I come out, we'll probably be down by 10 before I take a breath.”
cranrab said:the fakers "magic number" is 2.
for those not familiar with the concept of a "magic number", it simply means that in order to secure a spot in the playoffs, the fakers must win AT LEAST the same number of games as the "magic number".
