Why Isn’t Sony Doing More to Promote ‘Proud Mary’ and Taraji P. Henson?

I thought it was a Tina Turner remake. I was wondering who was going to play Ike, but was too lazy to look it up.

They are promoting it domestically with commercials but it looks like nothing is being done internationally...hiding it from the critics does make it seem like the movie sucks though...not a good sign

Push it all you want. I’m tired of seeing sisters I admire in angry ass roles. I don’t even watch. I need to sss these women winning, happy, glowing.

Not really ,black movies never get big pushes..

He'll black panther has sold more pretickets than any other marvel movie and you aint really seeing it pushed ..

I think studios are being cheap because of social media and word of mouth.just release a few trailers and let it go

Where are you getting your analytics from that says Black Panther ain’t getting pushed?

I don't know about where you love but where I live the promos just came out of nowhere within the last weeks or two and the movie is in theaters. That's not long enough
That shit reminds me of the movie Southside with You. Promo comes out Monday and the movie opens the coming Friday (exaggerating)

Don't know how others havent seen trailers. I remember seeing the trailers in the movies in November/December and on TV and was pissed cause they show trailers months ahead of time.

I hate when you see a trailer for something and they tell you 4-6 months ahead of time, like why I gotta wait all that damn time. Lol

Like Black Panther, trailer was in the movie last summer, frustrating

I dunno the mouse don't fuck around. The new trailer for black Panther dropped during the college football national championship

I'm serious though. I saw one billboard in NYC, that's when learned it was going to be in theatres. Before that I thought it was a Lifetime movie. Reading this thread, I realize it's an Atomic Blonde mockup.

If they wanted to go all out Crazy they would have Atomic Blond, Angelina Jolie as Salt, that Jennifer Lawrence broad as Red Sparrow showup in the post credits.

You've seen one of these generic action movies you've seen them all

I agree with what you are saying. When has there been a time that a Marvel movie hasn’t been pushed?

^^^^and this right here is the fucking g problem, no standards

Hell its not just in movies. Brehs and sistas say to hell with standards and character these days.

When u speak on tact, character and not having relations till after marriage you get called all types of names.

After the individuals have a kid they get to begging, crying and hollin they broke.

That's why its always best to get a cert or degree and get paid and finally look toward settling down.

I thought that normally if the studio doesn’t screen the movie for critics that means the studio feels like the movie is shit.

I’ve rarely seen a good movie that was not screened for critics.

Seems like I see the trailer daily. For real, for real, I like Taraji but she doesn't strike me as a believable action hero.
I heard it's only playing in some theaters, basically they are doing what they did with Marshall. Not wide release. Probably not even a thousand theaters. when it does poorly they will say, see? Black people don't support movies

It’s a film made to pacify Taraji/Black Hollywood.

Film Execu-CAC:

“we made an action film with one of your biggest stars and it lost major money”

“A 16 million dollar opening doesn’t warrant 10 million in advertising.... silly negro”
