Really, why is it important to you?
I have never looked at any artist in my CD collection and said "Damn, I'm glad I bought this because __________ sold hella copies"
I buy the music I like and download music that I know I'm not going to be listening to three months from now. Why is how many CDs an artist sells important to YOU the consumer? I know why its important to the artist but do you really care? Sales are almost directly proportionate to how much hype an artist's label can build for him/her. It has nothing to do with the music itself. I see quite a few threads discussing chart sales and shit like that but why should any of us care unless its our CD? A good record is classic and will stand the test of time so how many records sold shouldn't matter, right? Great sales do not equal great songs.
