That's how I came up with my original Screen Name. I was 38 at the time and wasn't doing shit on a PC until my wife showed me Dominos on Yahoo.
It was soon after that a chick who I used to play against flew here to Milwaukee from Raleigh, NC to hook up with me...UNINVITED
, and then a Pastor's wife from Texas told me she was gonna call me while we were playing. I'm thinking, "How the fuck she think she gone call me?," AND SHE DID! I used to flirt and talk tall shit to her through the keyboard and she was down with it. She had me wondering if she was ACTUALLY in the Church.
When she called, my wife dressed that woman down reading her the Riot Act. Phew! If she'd been any closer than Texas, I'd have NEVER heard the end of it either.
It turns out that she had all of my info from my Yahoo! profile, including my home phone number.

Spades is definitely in art. The whole bidding process, paying attention.
Paying attention can be extra hard because black people simply can't lay down their cards. They got a slap them and throw them.
If you got somebody throwing a card and then somebody else throwing a card and you trying to figure out who threw what...
But whatever you do, don't cut your partner, and don't renege. If you renege your name goes on the Spades APB and everybody from New York to California knows not to play with your black ass

It's a regional thing. As @darth frosty said, he learned that style when he moved to NY.
If we're being honest, all the styles outside of the Ace being the highest spade are non-traditional.
And most likely, the different ways to play were introduced to the community by niggas who was fresh out.
The look when you tell your spades partner that you have 3 and a possible and she says, OH REALLY!! Its a 10 for 200 hand for sure

Big vs Little Joker - I'll bust open a fresh pack of cards and write in pen 'BIG' on the bottom of the big Joker and 'LIL' on the bottom of the little joker. Problem solved.
Black Spades mobile app - there was a BGOLien that created/developed this app. It pretty much will give you the basics playing against the computer. Damn good app. Never played multiplayer bc I got trust issues and only a chosen few Spades partners.

Been playing tunk, blackjack, spades and poker since elementary school. Family reunions and summer get together was the learning tree for me. My uncle in NYC always had spade parties running on summer weekends miss my childhood
facts. when i moved to ny i was a kid. i didnt know how to play pitty pat. ol head at the time told me i couldnt live there and not know how to play.
