how the fuck I miss the point when I started the thread...
I wrote what I meant...Milli Vanilli was a MANUFACTURED GROUP.
Milli Vanilli was a RnB pop and dance project created by Frank Farian in Munich, Germany, in 1988.
When Frank Farian developed the concept of Milli Vanilli, he chose to feature vocals by Charles Shaw, John Davis, Brad Howell, and twin sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco; however, he felt that those singers lacked a marketable image. He then recruited Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan, two younger model/dancers he found singing in a Munich club for a rehearsal. He felt that Pilatus and Morvan could provide the marketable image that the original singers lacked.
that group was totally someone else's concept..
Now in terms of hip hop what I meant was what rapper, duo, or group was manufactured in a similar fashion..but that doesn't mean lip syncing since its crucial that a rapper doesn't do that..
BUT the concept of the group or rapper could be someone elses, the writing could be one or several ghost writers..essentially the rapper HIMSELF or HERSELF is just the marketing model and not organic at all.. They have the LOOK and voice but the concept of who they are and the lyrics came from other people...
or is that even possible to do in rap music?
