Who do you suspect is the Rap version of Milli Vanilli?

A completely and totally manufactured product....

Could it be done in this day and age?

Who are the top suspects if so?

EDIT TO AVOID CONFUSION:

Milli Vanilli was a RnB pop and dance project created by Frank Farian in Munich, Germany, in 1988.

When Frank Farian developed the concept of Milli Vanilli, he chose to feature vocals by Charles Shaw, John Davis, Brad Howell, and twin sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco; however, he felt that those singers lacked a marketable image. He then recruited Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan, two younger model/dancers he found singing in a Munich club for a rehearsal. He felt that Pilatus and Morvan could provide the marketable image that the original singers lacked.

that group was totally someone else's concept..

Now in terms of hip hop what I meant was what rapper, duo, or group was manufactured in a similar fashion..but that doesn't mean lip syncing since its crucial that a rapper doesn't do that..

BUT the concept of the group or rapper could be someone elses, the writing could be one or several ghost writers..essentially the rapper HIMSELF or HERSELF is just the marketing model and not organic at all.. They have the LOOK and voice but the concept of who they are and the lyrics came from other people...

or is that even possible to do in rap music?

well if jr writer and max are considered ghost writers

then the entire dip set camp

even mase (dumb ass that he is) claimed.. i say claimed to say he was big l's ghost writer, true? i dont believe so.. but it leads to suspicion of ghost writing in the early camps which also include camron

if you look at his styles from children of the corn etc to horse and carriage to now.. nothing says consistency

you can grow as an artists but something will always be same if its really you...

I don't believe that either. Mase had to use a ghostwriter himself  ...listen to Ghostwriter by Mad Skillz

agreed

only prob with mad skillz is the era

back in the day before most of our time

he would get awards for writing music...

now you get one for lip syncing or clowning...

more rappers would write more if there was an award for it..

matter of fact some ppl here and other places claim to be in the biz etc.. spread that word to start handing out awards to mc that write the best lyrics in magazines, websites and award shows..

that will bring lyricism back

If it was anyone but Cam'ron that did it, then maybe. Had a true respected lyricist called him on it, there would have been WAY more read into it. But come on...Cam doin that shit is like the pot callin the kettle black.

Shit...them cats don't count. On another note, WTF happened to Babs and Ness? Puff done buried them two deeper than 50 did the Lox(business wise, not lyrically)

Takes a look at any "Hip Hop/Urban" radio stations playlist......pick one.

Kanye West has used ghost writers earlier in his career. I'mr pretty sure he still does. Cats like Pusha T writing for him.

Ill Wayne definitely had Gillie da kid writing for him. I suspect drake writes for him sometimes.

Put most of these dudes r so basic, why would they need a ghostwriter?
