What makes Kobe so much better than D-Wade?

You just proved my point. Im comparing equal circumstances. Lets not be dumb here. You know damn well what Im talking about. Kobe right now has the consensus BEST TEAM in the league BEHIND him. When he had a comparable team to Wade which are your LAST 2..you see the SAME damn result. So how is he so much better? Name one PLAYER on that Lakers team in the TOP 7 that wouldnt have started on Miamis last 2 teams? Man get out of here, your comparison was just a long way for you to prove my point.

As a long time follower of Kobe Bryant's career, I firmly believe he is a highly capable defender who tends to get most of his credit for what he can do, rather than what does on a consistent basis.
I've seen excellent defensive efforts against star players in his career. You don't luck up and give world-class basketball players a hard time unless the ability is there.
Of course it would matter. We are in discussion. Some of you dudes get offended when your opinion is question. NEVER said Kobe wasnt a good defender but cats do give him more credit than due. Cat told me the other day Kobe is a better defender than Scottie Pippen. That to me is ridiculous. All I said was he gets too much credit.. And to be honest cats still arent giving REAL answers to why he's supposedly so much better than Wade. All I hear is niggas yelling "rings" but when in similar situations they've done the same things. Kobe is more "clutch" but in the BIGGEST situations you can be clutch in, Wade CLEARLY was the better performer...so again I dont get it..

Show me something from the Finals where Kobe took over and willed his team to victory, against odds... Wade barely played the year they went 15-67..Um the poll was taken...it said TAKE AWAY THE BEST PLAYER on each team and who has the best team...and the Lakers won DAMN near by a mile. The cast makes the Lakers the best team.. They have one great player and SEVERAL good ones. They have 2 of the top 5 Centers in the league, the most versatile big man in the league coming off the bench and the best perimeter defender...stop it.. Kobe did go through the motions for 2 seasons until the Lakers made trades...what did he do in those Phoenix series? They lost.

You say Artest is a defender, like he isnt the BEST perimeter defender probably since Pippen and Mike. Odom couldnt start for over half the teams in the league?. Did anybody say Kobe wasnt a big reason? Of course not. But to think that TEAM behind him isnt JUST AS BIG of a reason, you are crazy... again you dudes arent making a strong point.

I know its easy to say but Wade should have been dominating the league for the last few seasons just because he's been in the EAST. Under .500 teams were getting into the playoffs, where in the WEST the Spurs almost didn't make the playoffs this year. If we are going to compare the "bad" years for Kobe/Wade, Kobe was getting his teams to the playoffs in the WEST.

Right now what separates Kobe and Wade is Kobe's work ethic.
As a talent, there have been better players. When both players were in their prime and healthy, for instance, Tracy McGrady was a more talented player than Kobe.
But Kobe was the harder worker, and that shone though. Like another poster said he literally maximized every ounce of talent he had.
If you prefer Wade over Kobe, there's no problem with that at all either. If you think Wade is better than Kobe, that's fine too.
But the fact of the matter is, Kobe is going to go down as an all time great, is arguably top 10 all time right NOW - the key word being arguably - and in all honesty you can't take away anything from Kobe being a part of great teams. With the exception of the first Lakers championship Kobe was a heavy contributor in the three peat Lakers. The NBA playoffs is not just about the Finals, remember.
In the second championship team Kobe is the undisputed man on that team, his second best player is a legit second option who played the beginning of his career masquerading as a first option, and his teammates are largely discards - flawed but good players.
If Wade wants to stake his claim over Kobe, he'll have to win many many rings with this team, and OP, even if he does win rings - does it improve him over Kobe? It couldn't because you're already discounting Kobe's rings.
