What is your Praying habit(s)?

So from your reply, your habits cut down after leaving the hospital?

Yeah and it bothers me. During the past few years, I've been transitioning from christian to agnostic. After watchin' alotta videos, reading posts here and alotta self-analysis, I'm coming to the realization that Jesus may not have existed & there may be no God. It's scary to bring it to the forefront of my thinking to even type this. But at any rate, it bothers me that I pray only when my own abilities and wits fail me & my life's in dire straits.

I gave up earnestly praying when I saw there was no causal connection between praying and the end result. Now, I just pray when I eat out of habit. When good things happen to me, I give thanks but, I really don't know who I'm giving thanks to anymore.

What do you do when you pray and give 110%, but still see no results?

No offense, but you grow up. It's like when you learned there was no Santa. You are upset. It makes you mad. But eventually you deal with it.

Remember. When you talk to god it is prayer, when he talks back even those that pray think your nuts. :smh: :smh:

Good deal. Thanks, ScorpDiesel.

Do you think regular conversations are not as related to the concept of prayer as you see it?

I do, but I guess when most think of prayer, they're thinking of the traditional on your knees type praying.

I know my just talking to God is my way of praying because of the way I think I've developed my personal relationship with him.

I gave up praying after long thoughts if anyone is listening....why is everything that turns out good is becuase of god...god the all knowing....then I see the real world and its not so pretty....

at times I feel like this, but I just say I can't give up.

But not trying to be funny I do have my times I get angry at God and even will say, I'm doing what I'm suppose to and I'm still going through this, but I keep going anyway.:dunno:

I do what is called "Prayer without ceasing" which is a constant, even if by interval, communication with JESUS. Several times a day or hour depending on what's taking place I will consult with HIM or tell HIM what/how I feel.

I think this sums up what I was trying to say. Thanks

I'm in a conflict about religion, but I find myself praying in my thoughts pretty constantly.

mmm interesting! When someone asks you to pray, do you pray. Otherwise you dont. Am I alluding correctly?

you would be correct. I would agree to pray simply because I am a man of my word. Other than that I don't really see the point and no I'm not a atheist.

Interesting! Your sitting on the fence. Many do. Few make up their minds once there, and thus instead just pray. They feel that they are praying to somebody or something, so it will satisfy them...until they make up their mind.

Thanks MadWun.

I like to say, I am simply talking to GOD during certain times. I know there are those who only pray in a certain position to humble themselves, but at times you cannot-

...in the car, at work, on the toilet, right before your about to lay someone out for something (being mad), etc...Something may hit you that you may need to consult with HIM right away.

Thanks guys.

You know its funny.

Being in the field of work im in, I see death everyday. I see families lose their loved ones, all sorts of shit. Mu fucs wont dare bow their heads to even pick up a quarter, but yet scream Gods name when something drastic happens to them or their loved ones.

Let it be a child or a parent thats dying, I BET mu fucs will consider it then, only to be to late....

* my two cents*

Oh yeah, to answer the question, whenever the urge hits me.

Just to give a lil input... I can't even count how many times a day I pray... I pray over every meal (you'll never know when it will be your last), I pray randomly for guidance, strength, humility, and a good woman:smh::lol:... all but one of them prayers go un-answered hahaha maybe i just gotta take control of somethings in my life. I go to synagogue once a week for shabat, and during holy days.

It is crazy how taking advanced courses in the Humanities focuses on world religions. One particular focus is on the Western canon, in which I just finished a lengthy paper on (70 pages). The main subject focused on higher beings from different religions. I do not talk nor debate about such, but I do want to ask one question for the BGOL members:

If you want to supply your religious beliefs you can do so, but it is not required, for such confessions sometimes causes problems.

Here we go:

How many times a day do you pray? Do you find yourself constantly praying throughout the day? Are there certain times you pray, but never think about prayer until that particular time?

I am a prayer. That's how many times I pray.
