Want to give props to BGOL for introducing me to "The Millionaire Fastlane"

I want to give props to any member who posted the e-book "The Millionaire Fastlane", by MJ Demarco. I read it a few months ago, and it really got me hungry to be my own boss. Basically, the book talks about how to create an automated money stream using the internet as a source. If you haven't read it, I suggest you do so. Hell, I'll even upload it again myself.

I took ideas the author suggested and ran with it. Took all my web design and programming skills, and 3 months later, as of today, I have created and launched what I hope to be my "Money tree." I live in Atlanta, and it's TONS of women down here that are single, with a huge turnover rate, so I decided to create a localized dating site, for Atlanta only. It's a free site, but I'm using Google Adsense for my personal revenue, and hopefully down the line as the amount of members grow, I can start charging for "Premium features." Any BGOL brethren that are from ATL, feel free to sign up. I also have it so you can sign up if you are outside of ATL also, for those who may "visit"

www.AtlantaSinglesMeet.com

I can see this site is going to be a hassle though. I just officially opened it like a few hours ago, and already got 30+ members signed up just by word of mouth, and I haven't even started mass marketing yet. Some of the women are even messaging me personally. Regardless, I just need to keep the eye on the $$$, and off the @ss, and hopefully the site will be a success.

Props man!! Good luck with this. The site looks well-designed and it's good to see that you left it racially open and not exclusively "black".

Now I gotta find that e-book!!

The Millionaire Fastlane

Is the financial plan of mediocrity -- a dream-stealing, soul-sucking dogma known as "The Slowlane" your plan for creating wealth? You know how it goes; it sounds a lil something like this:

"Go to school, get a good job, save 10% of your paycheck, buy a used car, cancel the movie channels, quit drinking expensive Starbucks mocha lattes, save and penny-pinch your life away, trust your life-savings to the stock market, and one day, when you are oh, say, 65 years old, you can retire rich."

The mainstream financial gurus have sold you blindly down the river to a great financial gamble: You've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by recklessly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. This impotent financial gamble dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair -- sacrifice your adult life for a financial plan that reaps dividends in the twilight of life. Accept the Slowlane as your blueprint for wealth and your financial future will blow carelessly asunder on a sailboat of HOPE: HOPE you can find a job and keep it, HOPE the stock market doesn't tank, HOPE the economy rebounds, HOPE, HOPE, and HOPE. Do you really want HOPE to be the centerpiece for your family's financial plan?

Drive the Slowlane road and you will find your life deteriorate into a miserable exhibition about what you cannot do, versus what you can. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less" and a slight chance of elderly riches, there is an alternative; an expressway to extraordinary wealth that can burn a trail to financial independence faster than any road out there.

* Why jobs, 401(k)s, mutual funds, and 40-years of mindless frugality will never make you rich young.
* Why most entrepreneurs fail and how to immediately put the odds in your favor.
* The real law of wealth: Leverage this and wealth has no choice but to be magnetized to you.
* The leading cause of poorness: Change this and you change everything.
* How the rich really get rich - and no, it has nothing to do with a paycheck or a 401K match.
* Why the guru's grand deity - compound interest - is an impotent wealth accelerator.
* Why the guru myth of "do what you love" will most likely keep you poor, not rich.
* And 250+ more poverty busting distinctions...

Demand the Fastlane, an alternative road-to-wealth; one that actually ignites dreams and creates millionaires young, not old. Change lanes and find your explosive wealth accelerator. Hit the Fastlane, crack the code to wealth, and find out how to live rich for a lifetime.

Let me know. It's now as hard as it may sound. I feel its three things in life that will never cease to be money makers...and that's....Weight Loss Pills, Credit Repair Schemes and Dating Sites.....all are cyclical.... Which means, more potential for us to make $$$

Proud of you homie! And I hope you stick with it. I would probably recommend looking to launch similar sites for different locations in the near future.

All in all, congrats. Best of luck to ya

How you learn the programming and design skills all in three months?

I already had the skills. Went to school for it, and just was lazy @ss shit. Reading the book kind of put it in perspective. I've used my skills, but working my 9-5 and not working for myself. So, this is my attempt to work for myself.

That's my exact idea actually, already secured the domains for other potential locations I think would fair well and trademarks. :)

Great thread...thanks to VA for the links...Idk when I was younger I had a lot more drive/passion about being my own boss...made a decent attempt...didn't work out and I just settled for the working man schtick...playing Lotto and hoping I win is my current "early retirement" plan which is pretty fuckin lame...I've been traveling a lot recently and having a ball...and I just can't do the wait until I retire @ 60 bullshit to start enjoying my life on a daily basis...shit I don't even need to be rich...but just have enough $$$/time to free myself up and do what it is/go where it is I want when I feel like it

I hear you on that. It's so easy to be pessimistic when trying to be your own boss, especially if you have a day job like I do. Funny, cause my mom is the one who really drove me to finish it. I was like close to done the first month i started, and said "Fuc$ it", I'm tired of working on this site. She basically scorned me daily non-stop until I finally picked up and got it done. This dude in the Millionaire Fastlane book though, talks like, why you want to be 60 and trying to enjoy life with you sports car, as old dude with old balls and gray hair, trying to holler at younger women. Seem so much better to still be in your 20-40 range and having that influx of cash coming in.

Good shit and good luck bruh...The book (im still reading) has also inspired me to free myself from the chains of having a JOB. More blacks need to read this book. Its time to create.

I hear you...it's not even about the material possessions...as I heard someone say most of this "stuff" I acquire and shit I don't even give a fuck about it a couple months after I purchase it...fake ass status symbols and shit...but ya I would like to be able to run around and travel and shit while my legs are still young and I can physically enjoy the shit...I'm not saying that can't be done @ 60...but I have a strong desire to do that shit now...it's to the point where I am strongly considering selling all my shit and just wandering the globe  but I would obviously need some kind of income coming in...otherwise like dude said in Pulp Fiction I'd just be a bum...but I have been neglecting/ignoring the option of making $$$ online for a long ass time...I guess/hope it's not too late to explore the possibilities

Yeah I read that book also. Somebody in the Biz section posted it.
