Vizio 8" Tablet Video Review - Affordable Android Tablet

it it was 225, id buy one

but why would you buy a 8" single core, when just a few weeks ago you could get a dual core 10" iconia or transformer for $299

pricing is off imo

that transformer tablet, the browser crashes alot.

When was the price for the transformer at 299?

I'd be pissed if i missed out

Yo is this vizio come in 3g or is it strictly wifi? cause if thats the cause if i'm on the go and want browse the net I prob gonna tether it from my G2

there are a ton of apps but from what i've seen primarily for apps like boxee, WMC, etc but not for actual tv's and receivers.

the vizio tablet has an IR out, first of its kind I believe. its one of the reasons i've been keeping an eye on it since last year. i knew vizio would make a tablet for the living room, not just a silly ipad competitor.

That's what's up on that IR out. These tech companies need stop bullshiting on this front, imo.

Why spend nearly $300 for a logitec remote with hardware like this readily available.

THAT'S IT, I PULLED THE TRIGGER ON THE VIZIO...:dance::dance:
After some serious thinking, I finally decided to buy the Vizio Tablet.

I was already willing to pay $298 at Walmart for it, but I got lucky!

Walmart got a back to school special on the Vizio, where you get the tablet and a cool ass carry case with it for only $278.

Along with the $1 s&h... even my cheap ass could see that this was a good deal so I pounced!:D

I'll give it the once over and let you guys know how it is, when it arrives next week!

They also got some pretty good deals on other tabs, so if you're truly interested in getting one you should check it out while supplies last or before any sales ends... PEACE!!! http://www.walmart.com/ip/Back-To-C...let-Bundle-with-Tablet-Carrying-Case/17206087

sale bump for the night time people

honeycomb is coming after a later update. it's not ready because google has not released an open source version honeycomb yet.

gingerbread was to make the tablet stable. i like that they did that, don't push the latest os just cause its new and shiny if its not really ready yet.

if its not ready then why use it.

I'll take latest and stable over latest and shiny any day.

It's what helps make ipads/iphone successful.. its optimized for the device.

vizio went with the build that is the most reliable. I applaud that and is one of the reasons they have been slowly becoming one of my favorite companies.

bullshit. Honeycomb 3.1 fixed all the kinks out. I have an Iconia when it was 3.0 and yes THAT had some issues but still nothing major. But ever since 3.1 came out, Honeycomb is pretty damn reliable. The Xoom already got 3.2.

As consumer I'm telling people spend the extra $100 and get you a faster honeycomb tablet. I don't even touch my laptop anymore. I bet you can't say the same about this Vizio. Also, the apps that are optimized for Honeycomb makes your tablet experience a lot better.

Yo is the vizio tab 3g? Or is it just wifi based where I have to get a wifi usb to access the net if im not near a hot spot? Like if im in the car on a road trip and I want to surf?

I looked at the Android tablets last week the size and looks just weren't for m. My Co worker purchased the Asus which you add the keyboard. He said he has a hard time finding a case. Ill stick with my ipad 2.

might have to look more into this.....right now tho my coby 8024 8 inch tablet does the same, same specs and runs more apps.(178 on amazon) but the built in remote feature and promised updates got me intrigued

The reviews for this tablet aren't that bad...I like the screen aspect ratio too...Sears has it refurbished for $149

Caught it at Costco for my 9 year old lil girl at $190. I'll let you know how I like it by New Years.

My boss wanted to get three tablets for her kids, two twins are seven and an 11 year old. I told her about the Acer Iconia 7 inch, $750 total, tax & shipping.

Then I saw the Vizio yesterday online, $535 total, tax & shipping.

With kids that young I wouldn't get a top of the line tablet yet anyway so I think this is a good alternative for young kids.
