tical: i'll buy a 1000 imax tix a week so that it can make some damn money..i'll kill every bootlegger that remotely sells a dvd cover that looks like the bvs poster..i'll send virus to all file sharing websites for months...i'll go to schools and make death threats at teachers if they don't make this a mandatory class trip for students and tell them if they don't go they fail the course for the yr...i'm gonna make this movie will sell if this isn't the last thing i do on earth

MOS was a Super Hero Art film that went over too many people's head. I actually love this money after repeated viewings. I think the same may be happening with BvS. This is the same guy who did Watchmen and Sucker Punch. I didn't get with Watchmen at first because of my expectations then I sat back and saw it with a clear mind and it is a good movie.

Isn't that crazy! The movie maybe considered "Bad" because it's actually too good! As your pointing out and certainly being the case with MoS going over most peoples head. But that makes perfect sense when you consider a general audience. Hell the general members here. When a movie like Transformers can make over 1 billion dollars and something like The Shawshank Redemption doesn't even come close..I mean...Nuff said!

Watchmen was excellent because Snyder stuck CLOSE to the source material. MOS didn't work for me because it felt like they tried to cram too many different films into a Superman film.

MOS was a bunch of bullshit; that had solid graphics in it; story line was weak and acting was ok...

mickey mouse is 30 years past the original trademark. most folks born in the last the last 50 years have never seen steamboat willy. anyone born in the last 20 years dont know half his stories. they dont know the different iterations of the character over the years. all of this is new to them, and they are the new audience.

theres a reason McDonalds has Happy Meals with popular toys in them. its to bring kids who never had a Big Mac into the stores.

these folks dont have 30 years of Superman stories under their belts. to them Superman is brand new.

sometimes when you update characters and introduce them to a new audience the older folks get wind of it and want in too.

so again i say, its not the age of the character, its the writers.

what i just shared with you is not opinion, its sound, proven marketing practice.

i'm actually in the comic book industry, and i'm actually doing this.

listen and peep game instead of arguing how you feel.

I feel what you are saying; I think the other poster is just saying they keep telling/presenting the same stories over and over as it relates to Batman and Superman; So to your point, writers do need to write better...

regardless, the characters are not too old. their actual writers arent allowed to do inspired work, and the suits end up being the real writers. again, im not telling you what i think, i know writers who work for DC, and this is their gripe. their artists quit because they have to redraw full pages for no extra pay because some executive decided to do some convergence shit between two titles, trying to make money.

James Bond is old. Sherlock Holmes is old. all the damn Marvel characters are old.

If it is on or above Watchmen level that is a high compliment/achievement.

I think Snyder learned his lesson from "Sucker Punch". BvS is too big for him to take those chances.

It's not even so much Synders directing I trust.But Chris Terrio and Afflecks writing influence. I have no doubt the script will be excellent! None at all...

Considering how everything tries to copy everything else which is the safe route. How could you not give respect to Watchman, Spawn, Blade, MoS etc that try to be original with their projects? Seriously, do we really want or need every damn comic book adaptations to look and feel like another Marvel movie? Come the hell on now.. How would you ever get anything new?
