It wasn't only the altitude, Werdum's Muy Thai is sick, and his jiu jitsu is high level...
oh i dont disagree but when have you ever seen cain tired like that
i mean he was exhausted, bruh

Strange. Cain seems to have superior endurance to every heavy. Thought Werdum would suffer the effects more than him. Cain's endurance is fucking legendary.
...but training in Mexico City for nearly two months vs only two weeks? Yeah, no matter how good your cardio is, that wasn't a smart plan, especially after such a long layoff from the octagon. Your first fight since 2013 is Werdum, the dude who just KO'd Mark Hunt???![]()

I'm sure the altitude didn't help, but Werdum deserves credit for walking Cain like a dog on a leash with his Muy Thai clench, bloodying up his face with strikes, and eating Cain's strikes like Nabisco treats. This fight was over before it began. Werdum is always the underdog, but he keeps beating his favored opponents. It's time to stop making excuses and just give the man credit where it's due. Apparently, he actually is that good and beating Fedor wasn't a fluke.
...his Coach implored Cain to come out to Mexico City earlier but, inexplicably, he chose not to.Yeah, that was a dumb move from Cain's coaching staff...
Well, he's a fool then. I don't know if it was pride or over-confidence, but tough psychology isn't going to overcome basic biology. You cannot FIGHT well if you cannot BREATHE. I thought Cain was smarter than that. Luckily, the HW division isn't exactly stacked. So, if he doesn't get an immediate rematch (which I doubt he will because the loss was so decisive), it won't be long before he's fighting for the strap again....his Coach implored Cain to come out to Mexico City earlier but, inexplicably, he chose not to.
Yea they didnt really say why, but it was mentioned on the Embedded show, and again during the broadcast.Well, he's a fool then. Rothwell's a salty bitch. Cain wasn't superhuman. He was just a great grappler, with good cardio and effective striking. Lesnar was the more obvious candidate for a juiced up HW. Both of Cain's losses came after long layoffs and this time it was compounded by altitude and a game opponent. Fighters always wait until after the champ takes an L to claim they got 'exposed,' as if even great fighters just can't take an L.What if Cain has been on PED's like Rothwell said? Maybe due to the new UFC drug testing and penalties he stayed home until he could get clean from it. That could have helped him look so gassed in addition to the altitude change.

Ayo, THIS kid was nasty, though!Dide was out their looking like a Mexican Ong Bak.

Cain got his ass whipped.Cains strategy was to keep Werdum on his feet than his corner was like fuck that take your chances on the ground. That was the corners way of throwing in the towel without actually having to do it.![]()
His stand up surprised the hell out of me.When Cain dropped them bombs early in the 1st and Werdum ate them I knew it was gonna be a long and good fight.Great to see Werdum's late career resurgence too. He's improved his game (stand-up especially), has racked up some good wins (Fedor, Browne, Hunt, Velasquez, etc) and collected the interim & legit heavyweight straps along the way in 2014 & 2015 respectively. Acclimating himself to the high elevation and climate for many weeks prior to both the Hunt & Cain V' fights too. Hard to believe it's been 7 years since Werdum got KO'd by JDS, and 5 years since he subbed Fedor (widely considered the GOAT).
